The coffee is delicious and gives us something to look forward to every month. Their customer support team is amazing — super quick to respond and incredibly helpful. They were even kind enough to replace a box that got porch pirated (that’s how good the coffee is). This satisfies a need for me to locate coffee (and cafe’s that serve roasters I appreciate) when I’m away from home. Their resources for coffee shops and coffee lovers alike are incredible and have helped me discover so many new places and new local roasters, on top of helping me stay in touch with my faves and supporting them through purchasing gift cards right in the app. If I could give a sixth star for all over awesomeness, I would. ### 5/5 — Looking for barista cafes? *2020-04-22, version 6.15.2* I love this app! I have been using it for a couple of years to discover new Third Wave coffee shops around Montreal so I could go check them out. I have discovered some great coffee shops of all different types. They have a list view with a locator showing which ones are near you and a map view of all the coffee shops. Each shop has reviews and pictures linked to it. And now they are open in cities across Canada! My hope is that they will stick to Third Wave, barista, coffee aficionado shops and not list regular, bad, watery, dishsoapy places that just happen to serve coffee! ### 5/5 — Order feature disappears or moves randomly *2020-04-22, version 6.15.2* I often use the app to order and pay in advance at coffee shops, but finding the “Order” button is a challenge every time. It should stay in a consistent location and be available whenever I’m looking at information about a specific coffee shop that offers this feature. Also, if ordering is not available for some reason, it should show the reason instead of hiding the button. ### 5/5 — Must-download app for coffee lovers *2020-02-19, version 6.9.0* Th3rdwave is a great app to discover amazing coffee shops in many Canadian cities. Love it ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Horrible service failed promises *2025-04-06* The founder is incredibly rude. They cannot deliver on time. They have no respect to customers. They cannot guarantee delivery on time. They are the absolutely worse service ever. Much better options out there. Do not waste your time. Go somewhere else. ### 1/5 — Not useable. No coffee shops available. *2023-05-09* There are no coffee shops available for this app in the city I live in. ### 1/5 — They steal credit card info *2021-02-25, version 6.24.0* These guys don’t store credit card information securely and actually use your credit card info to make purchases. Never ever give them your information else it’ll get stolen and they’ll buy themselves a nice lunch and some apple products. They used my phone, name, address, and credit card which I only used on this app a couple of times and never use elsewhere (and definitely not on public wifi/unsecure networks) in order to make online purchases. The bank detected the fraud and did a chargeback in time thankfully. Buyer beware ! ### 1/5 — Trop de problèmes techniques *2019-10-25* J’adore le café. J’adore le Nocturne. J’adorerais que l’application de Th3rdwave, que j’utilise tous les matins ou presque, fonctionne mieux. Beaucoup mieux. Des gens à qui je l’avais recommandée ont perdu patience et ont préféré l’ignorer. Trop de bogues, d’étapes, de lenteur. Dommage. Je reste optimiste. Mais pour combien de temps encore ? ### 2/5 — It could be amazing but... *2020-01-03* The idea of finding amazing coffee when traveling is a fantastic idea, but the app is annoying. Firstly, it works better on the iPhone than on any other phone. The experience should be the same no matter what kind of phone you have. When you make an entry, it can take days for it to be accepted and having to choose category is annoying as well. A cafe is a cafe. Most cafes and coffee shops have coffee and baked goods. Sandwiches are less often available but still quite common. Why have a specific category bakery and cafe? Then when it comes to posts, it would be nice if you could edit your posts after posting. The rating system is stupid. Emoticons for what feels like a lot of (random) categories. Then it’s kind of impossible to navigate within the app. Communication within the chat feature is slow. So far, it’s been impossible to have a conversation with anyone. I could go on and on but I think I’ve said enough to give a clear idea what’s wrong with this app. In conclusion, having a serious app about serious coffee is a fabulous idea but it’s not this app. ### 2/5 — Étampes?! *2019-05-27, version 4.9.0* C est pas très clair pour réclamer les étampes! Impossible de trouver l’etampe sur l’application. Ou de faire une recherche de café! Genre ça fait 10 min que je cherche comment étamper mon café de ce matin!!! ### 2/5 — La carte ne fonctionne pas *2019-02-22, version 4.0.1* Quand je cherche un café ailleurs dans la ville, ils n’apparaissent pas. Je cherchais le finca, il n’était pas sur la carte mais dans la recherche, oui. Demain je serai dans ahunstic et sur la carte cest comme s’il n’y avait aucun bon café dans le coin mais j’en ai trouvé sur internet...bref je me demande à quoi sert l’app? ### 2/5 — Doesn't Work *2019-02-09, version 3.5.3* This app is good in theory however it works off location services which never work accurately in Montreal. I downloaded this so I could collect "stamps" from a cafe I frequent and the app always thinks I am 750m away from it. Unfortunately there is no way for the barista to overwrite this so I can never collect my stamp. I guess it would be good if you are looking for new cafes but does not work for my purposes. ### 3/5 — Missing login option *2024-10-10* Cool app, love the concept and features however the moment you log out there’s no way to log back in on the mobile app. It prompts the sign up and whenever you enter your email it says that this user already exists.
