The few minutes it works you are bombarded with ad’s. It’s a shame because it has potential. ### 2/5 — Too many ads *2024-10-03, version 2.2.0* It’s a great source for Thai news but the amount of ads are a distraction. An ad to start the app, ads after ads (video ones at that which can’t be paused) while scrolling the articles. Then after one or two reads a big ad covers the screen. Yeah I get the app is free but don’t make it annoying ### 2/5 — Junk Journalism *2023-06-17, version 2.1.17* This web publication plagiarizes legitimate news sources, and is extremely inappropriate for 9+. Its target demographics are focused on male foreigner’s (farangs) transfixed on tragedy and sex trade, murder, rape, scams… It is absolutely inappropriate for underaged children. Please evaluate and reclassify age appropriateness. Since you have been notified, you too can be held liable for facilitating plagiarism, inappropriate classification and access to the material. I expect a response and actions taken. ### 2/5 — Seriously?? *2023-06-09, version 2.1.17* Now the app requires an account before it lets you into the news screens. So let’s recap. First they trash the presentation with oversized distorted photos that make the article unreadable. Now they require an account. I have way too many accounts and passwords already, and adding another so I can be confronted with distorted photos and very little content isn’t going to happen. The app isn’t compelling enough to keep. DELETE!! ### 1/5 — Junk *2022-10-26, version 1.2* I have a newer iPhone and it can’t handle this glitchy ad saturated app. Unfortunately I am going to uninstall. also unfortunate is I invested in this company a year ago. I decided I would like to support the show by becoming a Thaiger Legend, well the thaiger have surrounded themselves with ad walls and vpn barriers which dont allow me to access the website or the app. I can not even click on the contact us link on the website without getting the error message “ safari could not open the website because the server stopped responding”???? How many more fans are locked out because of this? When i disable my vpn, i am overwhelmed and my computer locks up due to pop up ads and videos automatically playing…….. Jay or who ever reads this, please reach out to me, I will be in Thailand next month, staying near Nana with my family and wish to donate, but your tech team has made it too difficult. I dont plan to access your website or app, due to these annoying popups and ads, I just enjoy the youtube channel and want to contribute.?? Is there another way to buy your swag or visit your studio? ### 2/5 — World of adverts all over *2022-02-04, version 1.2* Unfortunately it’s an app packed with adverts all over the place from watch selling to pay per game etc ,a really big shame ,it has potential but the sight of so many adverts top and bottom each time I open up the app is just pointless ,this is meant to be a news app not an advert app,news sometimes also take they’re time to update ( I.e news from 2-3 days ago only show up on the day you connect the app even though those news are already old news that came out days ago in other channels ,app also poorly designed and unnactractive -but ok i could cope with this ,the adverts though ,anyways deleted ,gets 2 stars for the idea ### 2/5 — Too many notifications *2021-12-17, version 1.2* You have a great app but my gosh, every three minutes I get a new notification, even with the many of the notifications settings turned off. Give this app a pass; ‘waste of time, unless you like ads…. I click on your privacy and TOC and it’s full of Loren ipsum filler text! Just how exactly are you making money from our personal data?! To me it’s just treating us like we are imbecile luddites who will throw away our valuable personal data without a thought. Do better. I understand the Thaiger have really been aggressively monetising their content recently but I would advise management to keep your users in mind of your priorities. You already spam us with so many ads that it’s amazing you get a google ranking from your page quality efforts (e.g google EAT). There are still many options for us to get news content out there, especially from social media. Why don’t you talk to thai government and do what Rupert Murdock did and force social media to pay to repost your original news content? Just like Australia did. Maybe that’s a better way to monetise your content without annoying your users. ### 1/5 — Terrible layout *2023-06-22, version 2.1.17* After reading the story of the ghost building in pattaya being demolished. Once I select English, there is no provision to “enter” my selection. Works fine on everything but my phone, showing that it is NOT a “mobile” app any longer. First noticed this problem about 2 weeks ago. Too bad. I liked reading Thaiger on the phone. Maybe it’ll get fixed? ### 1/5 — Need more positive reporting *2022-12-18, version 1.2* Site used to be balanced with positive and negative. Now most broadcast and printed stories are negative. My years of living in Thailand I know the culture and country has many more positive stories to report. Why did you go to the negative side ??? I am so disappointed. I used to watch every day and read stories several times a day. The app has too many adverts. And the recent update and re-design is underwhelming and seems to be a regression. You can’t do basic things any more like copy and paste or search for articles.
