### 4/5 — Thank you for bringing back this app

*2020-06-26, version 4.2.1*

Great app. My only request is to be able to adjust the time that you can play each round. It would be nice to have a 5 or even 10 minute round. Maybe even a never timing out setting for practice.

### 4/5 — Love this game

*2012-03-04, version 3.0.4*

By far my favorite word finding game. My only complaint, which is a small one, why is there not an option to play this in landscape. Definitely will update this to 5 stars if landscape is added. Otherwise great job developers. Thanks

### 4/5 — Good game

*2010-12-02, version 0*

Crashes on 4.2.1

### 4/5 — Now works on 4.2.x

*2010-11-28, version 2.1.10*

Fun app - keeps me busy for hours! Would be nice if there's an option to change the background color and turn off the timer (or have the function to let users choose the length of time). I'm usually watching TV when playing so the timer is kind of a pain to deal with.

### 3/5 — ok

*2010-11-12, version 2.1.8*

a decent entry in this genre, but the dictionary it uses is lame and is missing a lot of words i'm used to using in other games, so that made it too frustrating and i deleted the app.

### 3/5 — Inconsistent.

*2010-10-25, version 0*

Uses obscure words, won't accept Spanish Words, unless they happen to be the 6 letter word. It is fun to play, but be ready for an extremely obscure word once you hit the 3rd to 4th level.

### 3/5 — Love the game, hate the lack of Levels!

*2010-09-05, version 0*

I cannot believe that there are only 5-6 levels, in this word game! After awhile, you just automatically know the answers, and makes the game awful! Yes, it is nice that it is free, but such a well polished game, should have more than 6 levels... I don't know if it's just me, and there is a download section, that I am not aware of... If you are selling this at $1.99, then it's a ripoff!

Again, I thank you for letting us have it for free, but it's the point of word games, to offer more levels, more words!

I'm giving this a 3 star, just because it's free. If it wasn't free, then this would be an awful 1Star Rating!

### 3/5 — Non timed game option

*2010-03-22, version 0*

I like this game. Sometimes I would like to play a game without it being timed. Please make that option available.

### 4/5 — Great game

*2009-09-07, version 0*

I have to be honest and say that I love this game, but the reason I didn't give it 5 stars is a) they seem to miss some obvious words (rarely) and b) you can't listen to music while you play it. Overall a great time waster that I go back to again and again.

### 5/5 — Great

*2009-08-19, version 0*

Very cool game be sure to get it while it is free. It is a very addictive game and a ton of fun.

### 5/5 — Hooked

*2009-08-19, version 0*

My wife and I picked up this game and literally couldn't stop playing until we couldn't spell the words it was so late. I love that you can advance as long as you find the six letterword.

### 1/5 — What's going on, guys??

*2011-06-17, version 2.1.10*

I paid twice!!

### 1/5 — Its a work in progress but has potential

*2009-08-23, version 0*

Overall i feel this app'n is worth a good 2*'s with some minor tweaks i feel a 3* or higher rating will apply.

The game is similar or sorry should i say near identical to text twist [but has scrabble style tiles] but i feel that had a better dictionary & more variety. The dictionary in this s/ware is so off tangent, i assumed my english wasn't too bad till i played this game & the only way off succeeding in it is to cheat. look at the words before & after the 6 letter word to proceed as the words it comes up with sometimes are out of this world, i feel even an english boffin would have some problems getting far within the game without having to resort to cheating!

useful update would be:

1) don't rely solely upon getting the 6 letter word to proceed, should allow a high score to get thro' to next level, getting the 6 letter word would give a big bonus say [another type of game variant maybe?]
2) have an online function to compare scores with other users
3) give the definitions of the words once the round has ended to allow users to learn - especially of the 6 letter word
4) make the game easier or allow level select, currently it is extremely hard to get past the 1st few levels without cheating on occasions, this type of game should not require that or make it use a standard english (UK) dictionary

hope the developers take heed as i feel this app'n could be as good if not better than Text Twist (just needs a bit more tweaking!)

Just downloaded the latest version & have i seen any difference, the answer would of-course be no! But am hoping as these people are updating they may make it a text twist killer! Another feature i thought would be useful would be a button to end your turn but NOT quit, on occasions you're playing a game & you're all out of ideas and you've got the 6 letter word so you want to go to the next level, a button to allow you to do that would be nice. Main gripe now seems to be that the dictionary is not or doesn't seem to be in English, it's actually in American English, therefore on occasions i get stumped with some of the words. A dictionary language option is crucial, as a result i am reducing my rating to 1*, the game has potential but as i'm not from the US it's not suitable (yet) for me!

### 1/5 — Why iPod Touch (2 gen?)

*2009-08-21, version 0*

Why iPod Touch (2 gen?)

### 1/5 — There's been better

*2009-08-19, version 0*

First off the timer is awful:( but it looks nice. Second the words they have u make are retarted. Find a better game than this, I no there's better.

### 2/5 — British dictionary...

*2012-09-14, version 3.0.4*

I love playing this game. It has helped my vocabulary.
But I would love it even better if it had the option to select an AMERICAN dictionary.
Many of the words are British.
There are slang words we don't use in America, and many words use different spellings.
It would be nice to be able to pause the game.
Otherwise good game.

### 2/5 — Weak word list

*2012-04-19, version 3.0.4*

Uses the same dictionary as Jambalaya but allows far fewer words. Uses many non-English words, and several with no dictionary entry, like 'gos', 'ates', and 'moder'. Another reviewer pointed out the repetitive character groups; this game doesn't have enough variety for more than an hour or two of play. Looking forward to a radical update.

### 2/5 — Does not work with 4.2

*2010-11-27, version 0*

I was very disappointed to find this game will not work with the new 4.2 OS. As another reviewer noted, it allows you to play one game then will not redraft. I hope the developers fix this issue soon, as I enjoyed playing That Word a great deal prior to the OS upgrade.

### 2/5 — Better free versions

*2010-09-26, version 0*

There are better free versions of this game. This is okay but a bad dictionary. Does not accept "Dane" or "Brit" but does accept "canard?"

### 3/5 — Addictive but...

*2012-02-02, version 3.0.4*

I love playing this game but I do have a few issues with it. I would like
more levels, the ability to pause a game, and maybe an option for American English since many of the words are British in spelling and usage. words or words with British spellings. Its still a very enjoyable game and I have increased my vocabulary by playing it.

### 3/5 — Not with 4.2

*2010-11-25, version 0*

To be fair, the developers say this has only been tested with iOS 4.0 but it's disappointing to discover it doesn't work with 4.2. It just drops after playing one game and the only way to play again is to delete and reinstall. Tedious. Wondering why the developers haven't made some announcement on the app page. It's a great game so let's see it working again

### 5/5 — Thank you for the update

*2020-05-11, version 4.2*

Thank you so much for updating this game. It’s my favorite to play when I have just a few minutes, like while waiting for an appointment. I had been so disappointed when I could no longer play it! Great that you changed the icon for it - it was how I knew there was finally an update. Thanks again.

### 5/5 — Fun Game

Great fun game, it was missed for a long time. Great to see it back on the App Store. Now requires at least iOS 13.

### 5/5 — Good, fun word game.

*2010-11-16, version 2.1.8*

I've tried a couple of different word games and I like this one the most. A nice, polished and well thought out interface. The bonus points also help add another layer to the game. I also like the fact that you can choose to include "offensive" words or not.

One minor comment I have - certain words like "Zen" are invalid while other ones like "gite", "tau" or "tut" are valid words.

All in all a fun game though. Definitely recommended.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2010-09-04, version 0*

A Boggle like game. Great fun. I love it. My wife loves it too. Get it!

### 5/5 — Very nice app

*2009-08-21, version 0*

My wife and I just love this game! It is very accessable and the words used are very common, rather than obscure and rare words you find in some apps. Very recommended.
