We ended up booking everything ourselves. App has weird bugs. Sadly won’t use it again ### 1/5 — Error, error, error *2023-08-05* Almost nothing seems to work. Seems like a great idea, but almost every single thing I try do to, all I get is a nondescript error message. This app has ZERO functionality. They’re only concerned with follow counts if you want to create a guide which is crazy. The people the app wants to create guides don’t even travel to places that need guides- nobody needs a guide for NYC, they need guides for smaller places. Looking forward to connecting! ### 1/5 — Weird app not recommended *2023-03-01* These reviews must be paid or random people on this app trying to make money because this is not a good app for travel planning. It’s a marketplace of guides. You have to buy everything lol all you can view is your own stuff. But a guide and don’t like it, well too bad you just paid $35 for nothing. I’m an avid traveler and this just seems like a waste of time. Was hoping it would be interesting. Not recommended. **Developer response:** Hi Prman79 - while many guides on the platform cost money (because we believe in the value of travel creators' insights), there is also lots of free content on the platform as well. Thanks! ### 1/5 — I don’t understand this app *2021-09-10* I don’t understand why anyone would use this app. I can’t even find other people’s boards or lists. Why would I want to just save my pictures for myself? I have photos on iPhone to do just that. Super weird. Wouldn’t recommend. ### 2/5 — No search function for large content *2023-12-27* I follow a couple in Paris and they’ve used Thatch to make hundreds of restaurant, bakery and chocolate/ice cream shop recommendations. All this app does is plot them on a map for you. There’s no way to search within a certain category for a specific place or food offering. They recommend certain restaurants for one type of cuisine or food and I have to know where in Paris this is first, find it and then add it to my list. Not helpful unless I’m walking around Paris, have this app out and happen to be walking by a particular restaurant. There is no way to really plan ahead with this. ### 3/5 — Error 401 *2023-10-25, version 2.40.0* I cannot see my profile or save any places/guides on the app. The home screen remains blank. I can only access everything through the web page. Is there a fix for this error? ### 4/5 — Great app *2022-11-30* Really good way to find locations through a network of like minded people. Lots of insights. Definitely worth purchasing guides from here. You get awesome tips and tricks that you can’t find anywhere else! ### 5/5 — Great Travel Platform - still needs continued growth *2024-04-17* I currently use thatch both as a creator and as a traveling individual searching for guides. Lots of the reviews mention everything being paid which it seems a ton are, but there are so many free guides as well. I do think there need to be better free guides as some are very minimal or incomplete. If people have requests for other cities submit them online so creators know what places to make guides for. I personally use it on my laptop the most and find the online website to be very well structured and easy to use. Then I use the app on my iPad as well. Would love to see the map feature continue to develop to a point you can connect multiple locations on the recommended map to create a game plan for the day vs having to enter all of the locations from a guide into Google maps to create their own connected plan. ### 5/5 — Wonderful trip planning tool *2023-08-16* I’ve updated my review as the issues that were causing nothing but errors and issues have all been resolved. Thatch.co has become my go to tool for capturing and organizing reference information I gather from various sources for upcoming trips. I’ve not been relying on existing Thatch.co guides, but more online articles and sources elsewhere and using Thatch to organize and track the reference info. Pulling from those reference guides that I create to create more itinerary focused guides. Simple, slick and so helpful. The ability to pull many years worth of info I’ve accumulated in Google My Maps maps using KML exports has been a game changer. I hope Thatch.co doesn’t evolve too much or focus too much just on people trying to make money by selling guides. I’ve been using Thatch for over a year and LOVE it. I keep all my random travel finds on it - when that friend comes home from Paris and tells you this amazing restaurant, save it here instead of having to hunt through notes on your phone + Google maps + seven other places to find it. I’ve been using Thatch for around a year as both and it’s improved my travel life tenfold! Tired of spending hours researching your next travel destination? Choose from a multitude of travel guides for locations across the world made by travelers of all types! These Thatch Creators have researched and created travel guides with recs of where to eat, drink, hike, learn, etc. It’s all right there for you and chances are you’ll do something you never would have found by yourself! I personally purchased Florence Food Guide from Martina and discovered multiple locations for authentic gelato and food and more (they were all INCREDIBLE!). As a travel planner, Thatch has everything I need. With Thatch, I have a travel shop to send my clients to and for new travelers to discover my travel guides. I can utilize Thatch’s powerful and intuitive travel guide creation features to create a travel guide that is customized to my style whilst also staying professional and in line with Thatch’s branding. Thatch is also getting updates frequently so there’s always new features to take my travel guides to the next level. I wouldn’t be able to do travel planning without Thatch, so I’m very thankful to the Thatch team. You lot are awesome.
