### 2/5 — Consistently Disappointing

*2026-07-05, version 4.2.5*

Once again, entire paper won’t load. Was forced to cancel my home delivery because of issues even the department manager could not resolve. Want to support local journalism but customer support and tech improvements clearly need attention.

### 2/5 — App and website are disfunctional

*2026-05-07, version 4.2.5*

Clicking on an article link leads to website. App has constant ads. Need a functional app and website before bombarding with ads. Articles have excellent journalism

### 3/5 — Good Paper - Weird Priorities

*2026-04-24, version 4.2.5*

YKIYK Baton Rouge puts a thumb in New Orleans. Lafayette does the same to Baton Rouge. New Orleans is too distracted to care about the rest of the state. This mindset is woven into the political space, business culture, and sports. And The Advocate would be a great news source if it stop playing into it. Example: under sports nav: LSU, HS, Saints, Pels,…

### 2/5 — Balky Software

*2026-04-14, version 4.2.5*

The app does not run correctly on my iPad. Login is difficult at times. Still needs work.

### 3/5 — Great news source

*2025-09-15, version 4.1.1*

Best balanced reporting in the state
Access has been the problem. Constant password change required

### 3/5 — App

*2025-07-26, version 4.1.0*

App works fine most of the time. I read the e-edition, mostly. My wife reads print edition. We're covered like the dew.

Television online often beats the Advocate on breaking news.

### 3/5 — E-edition

*2025-04-26, version 4.1.0*

E- edition still difficult to use

### 1/5 — Bring back the old app

*2025-03-20, version 4.0.2*

New app is awful. Again this morning, no new edition available. Can’t the developers fix this?

### 1/5 — can’t get it right

*2025-03-19, version 4.0.2*

why is the acadian advocate e edition out @3:15 but times picayune won’t be till 4

### 3/5 — New app review

*2025-03-17, version 4.0.2*

Totally dislike new or updated version,
Much preferred old version. I can’t stand having to swipe page by page to move from one section to another.
Why can’t y’all leave well enough alone.
Also, swipes aren’t that sensitive, I find myself darn near slapping rather than swiping to “turn” a page.

### 3/5 — Worsening functionality Due to the redo of the electronic edition

*2025-03-17, version 4.0.2*

The attempt to“improve“ the E edition has failed spectacularly. I find it much harder to navigate from article to article then it had been before. please restore the previous version and stop meddling with something that was already functioning well. Remember “the enemy of the good is the perfect” and your redo is the perfect example of that. Sincerely, Stephen Hellman.

### 1/5 — A major step back in terms of navigation

*2025-03-17, version 4.0.2*

The inability to quickly navigate to pages where stories continue is enough to make me seriously consider cancelling my subscription. You now only have the option to scroll through individual pages or read in a pop-up. Why not restore the ability to jump directly to pages?

### 3/5 — New format

*2025-03-12, version 4.0.1*

Since changing the format we can no longer print the crossword puzzles on a single page. It is also difficult to change pages sometimes, it jumps back to other editions, etc. This will not let me put in a nickname!

### 1/5 — Format

*2025-03-12, version 4.0.1*

The new on line format is difficult compared to the prior format

### 1/5 — No way

*2025-03-09, version 4.0.1*

Not paying for this app

### 2/5 — Update disappointing

*2025-03-03, version 4.0.1*

Since the update, it doesn’t offer an option to read online vs download. Very slow to download. Also, there’s no default edition option. Liked the old version much better! Don’t mess with success.

### 1/5 — Forced to use this revision

*2025-02-20, version 4.0.1*

It's extremely frustrating that you have to use this revision to access the e-edition. I miss the ability to navigate to articles without it opening in a “reader’s view.”

Please bring back the option to quickly navigate to the continuation of stories without losing the look of the physical paper.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Subscribed for years

*2026-04-23, version 4.2.5*

Can’t believe that even if I change password I can’t stay logged in to ever read the Acadiana e edition. Never been as frustrated. Calling customer service doesn’t fix permanently.

### 1/5 — Stop

*2026-03-06, version 4.2.5*

I like The Advocate I do not like you having pop-ups that block my screen and stop me from doing what I wanna do. So please stop stop having your spam pop-up block me and get off my phone and when I want to review something in the advocate, I will let nowhere else other than The Advocate but if you keep hitting me with pop-ups all the phone in the garbage.

### 1/5 — Paywall

*2025-07-11, version 4.1.0*

Why pay for the news when there are other sources that are free.

### 1/5 — E edition

*2025-06-01, version 4.1.0*

Why change it it’s much harder to use. The old way was much simpler

### 1/5 — Blurred out stories on The Advocate website

*2025-05-16, version 4.1.0*

Why post a story and prevent readers’ access? It’s annoying and despicable.

### 1/5 — Update is terrible

*2025-04-30, version 4.1.0*

I have been an online subscriber to The Advocate for many, many years. The update came without notice, so now I cannot login, nor does it recognize my password. When I messaged the company, the few suggestions they gave did not help. This happened previously this year and I’m getting very frustrated with the entire process! Thinking of canceling my subscription.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2025-04-06, version 4.0.2*

This new app is a piece of junk. The E-edition is completely broken. It points to as-laden web pages that often don’t return to their launch point. I cancelled my subscription and won’t renew unless this app is fixed.

### 1/5 — Site

*2025-03-31, version 4.0.2*

Hard to get around, does not load properly

### 1/5 — Advocate online edition

*2025-03-28, version 4.0.2*

Too far to the left, l am trying to cancel it now. I just can’t take it anymore, sorry.

### 1/5 — New E-Edition

*2025-03-25, version 4.0.2*

The E edition is extremely hard to read online, a clear step backward in my opinion. Your “opinion” paper is a shadow of the legacy newspaper of the past.

### 5/5 — Paper vs app

*2025-12-09, version 4.2.5*

App version needs more set up, like the paper, with sections etc

### 5/5 — Love the Advocate online

*2025-02-03, version 4.0.0*

Anyone who wants to be informed about La state politics must read the Advocate. I really like seeing the layout - reads and looks just like the print Ed. (or you can read a version that is more like manuscript style). Easy to switch back and forth. I like being able to print, or post a story from the paper onto social media. I absolutely love the creation of the investigative journalism project. Thank you Advocate. I have been a regular reader for 45 yrs.

### 5/5 — New Format

*2025-02-03, version 4.0.0*

I don’t like the new format. I prefer the old one which was easier to read and move around.

### 5/5 — Love the updated app!

*2025-02-03*

The updates to the E Edition but especially to the live news are GREAT and much appreciated by this forty year subscriber!
I’m a news hound, former longtime WAFB-TV reporter, and was late Governor Foster’s press secretary. Decades ago, the Advocate and Times Picayune established themselves as the gold standard for journalism in Louisiana. We are fortunate they are locally owned. Great journalism is worth paying for!

### 5/5 — Update fail

*2025-01-30*

I am very unhappy with the new update. I cannot see the whole page without scrolling up and down. I have always loved this app before but now I wish I had not updated and if I could I would reinstall the original.

### 5/5 — All good

*2025-01-21, version 3.15.03*

All good

### 5/5 — Love the advocate e-edition

*2025-01-13, version 3.15.03*

I love my daily newspaper but when I am away from home read the e-edition. Love it! Very easy to rea

### 5/5 — Darrel

*2025-01-02, version 3.15.03*

Love the quick reporting on news
