## What is the AI Cheatsheet?

the AI Cheatsheet is your personal guide to AI fluency — 210+ expert-written definitions designed for professionals who work with AI every day but didn't study computer science.
You don't need a tech background to understand AI— you need a cheatsheet! Whether AI comes up in your work, your classes, your news feed, or your family's group chat, The AI Cheatsheet gives you the clarity to follow the conversation — and the confidence to join it. Start exploring today!

What's inside:
Every term includes up to seven layers of explanation: a quick "in brief" summary you can scan in seconds, and an "in depth" explanation that builds real understanding. Each entry also features an analogy that connects the concept to something familiar, a cocktail party line — the one sentence that makes you sound like you've been in the field for years — a "why it matters" section that explains the real-world relevance, and an "often confused with" guide that clears up the terms people mix up most.
Browse by category — foundations, models & architectures, training & learning, language & text, practical AI, people & players, events, and ethics & safety — or search by name. Filter by difficulty level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) to match your current knowledge.
Test yourself:
Quiz mode lets you put your knowledge to the test. Filter by category or difficulty, then work through multiple-choice questions drawn from the full glossary. See how much you've absorbed — and tap "learn more" to dive deeper into any term.
Built for how we actually learn:
Bookmark terms to build your own study/reference list. Track what you've viewed recently. Discover what's been added lately from the home screen. Adjust text size for comfortable reading. Every feature is designed to fit into your workflow, not replace it.
Your data syncs securely via Sign in with Apple — bookmarks and recently viewed terms follow you across devices.
A living reference:
The AI Cheatsheet isn't a static dictionary. New terms, notable figures, landmark events, and emerging concepts are added regularly. The AI landscape moves fast — your reference tool should keep pace.
Crafted, not generated:
Every definition is hand-written with editorial care. No bulk AI-generated filler. No jargon without explanation. No assumptions about what you already know. This is a reference tool built by someone just like you, who understands what it's like to learn a new field from the outside.

Categories include: foundations (neural networks, deep learning, parameters, embeddings), models & architectures (transformer, GPT, diffusion models, CNN), training & learning (fine-tuning, RLHF, transfer learning, gradient descent), language & text (NLP, tokenization, RAG, prompt engineering), practical AI (inference, API, edge computing, hallucination), people & players (notable researchers, companies, and products shaping AI), events (landmark moments from the invention of backprop to the launch of ChatGPT), and ethics & safety (AI governance, algorithmic accountability, dual use, differential privacy).
Whether you need a quick refresher before a meeting, want to quiz yourself on the basics, or want to build deep AI literacy over time, The AI Cheatsheet is the reference you'll actually use every day.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6 — 2026-07-28

Two new interactive heroes. Tap any word in the attention hero and watch which other words the model focuses on — tap "it" to see pronoun resolution happen in real time. The embeddings hero maps 18 words in a 2D semantic space; tap any to see its neighbourhood, or tap "king" to see the famous arithmetic: king − man + woman = queen, drawn as arrows in the geometry.

### 1.5.1 — 2026-07-27

Polish pass on the interactive heroes. The k-means clustering hero now dims the Run and Step buttons when they can't do anything yet — no more tapping into silence. Free users also get a better preview: the k-means teaser now opens showing fully-solved clusters so you can see what you're unlocking before you subscribe.

### 1.5 — 2026-07-18

Additional interactive features for users to experiment and play with AI/ML concepts.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-07-11

Refined term layout; interactive tools moved to follow the in-depth read (rather than right next to in-brief). Plus: badge fixes.

### 1.4 — 2026-07-10

NEW "interactive" terms: AI concepts you can play with, not just read about.

Gradient descent: drag the ball, tune the learning rate, and watch it find the bottom… or overshoot and diverge. Switch to the bumpy landscape and get stuck in a local minimum (then escape it).
Temperature: the "creativity knob" from your favorite AI chat apps, demystified. Reshape the word probabilities yourself and sample what the AI says next.
Overfitting: slide a model from too-simple to too-flexible and watch the training error keep falling while the test error tells the truth.
Interactive joins "visualized" in premium. Concepts that move deserve controls, to experiment with like an AI researcher.
