This app is horrible. I’m trying to read a very long and interesting article but I’ve been moved around twice now. Once to the middle of the article and now again with a push to write a review! Great magazine and content but try entering a comment in the app. The app has extreme trouble in terms of not displaying portions of the text, mangles half of the text horizontally, fails to display words. This has happened across multiple devices old and new, multiple iOS versions.

Budget cuts are typical in recessionary type economies, particularly in public education. This article gets at the root of the issue, which is not a contradiction of eliminating bloated departments, rather protecting the fundamental of a literate society.

There should be a way to go back to much earlier version.

Last several “improvements“ have caused nightmare stalls, freezes, sluggish, unresponsive unusable behavior. Horrible!

Why should I be paying for an unusable app?

Totally craptastic app now. Not all of us are rich.

Love the journalism but unfortunately the latest app update of The Atlantic is pretty terrible. It zaps my battery, moves around the article when the advertisements reload and scrolls slowly with glitchy movement. 

Please declutter the app and focus on readability and function. (Also, the animation of spinning wheel when pages load looks terrible)

But not always more information in the text. Also a frustrating search process. Catchy promotions in ads that turn up in Reddit and other feeds, don’t match the article titles enough for the search function to find them. It’s a
Headache.

While I am not a fan of the current administration and their policies, the Atlantic overwhelms the reader with anti-Trump stories. You have to dig deep to get to stories that touch on everyday American lives. When you find them, they are very well written. The level of human interest goes far beyond a couple of anecdotal stories of “victims” and tells the nuanced complex backgrounds that make issues complicated. Those stories provide the reader with another perspective.  Those stories make the reader stop and think after committing the time to read long form journalism. I just wish there were more of them.
