## What is The Aurora Chronicles?

Can optimism survive truth?

You are the Commander of the FRV Aurora, a Frontier Response Vessel dispatched to investigate incidents on humanity's expanding edge. The United Earth Alliance has built a utopia: 150 years of peace, cooperation, and exploration. But something is wrong on the frontier. And the more you investigate, the less certain anything becomes.

YOUR CREW. YOUR CHOICES.
Four specialists. Four perspectives. Every decision shapes your relationships with Kira, Marcus, Amara, and Jax. Their trust will determine what they share, what they hide, and who stands with you when it matters most.

BRIGHT FUTURE. DARK QUESTIONS.
Investigate impossible phenomena in humanity's optimistic future. Each case challenges what the crew believes is possible, and what's supposed to exist at all.

EPISODIC MYSTERY
Each episode delivers a complete investigation while building toward something larger. Some cases stand alone. Others connect to a pattern you'll spend the season unraveling. Perfect for playing one episode at a time or bingeing the whole season.

FULLY VOICED
Every character is brought to life with full voice acting and an original atmospheric soundtrack.

MULTIPLE ENDINGS
Your philosophy matters. The ending you reach reflects not just your choices, but your worldview.

SOLO DEV, BIG VISION
24 episodes. Fully voiced. Original soundtrack. A sci-fi visual novel built by one person who wanted to play this game and couldn't find it.
Episode 1 is free. Additional episodes available as in-app purchases.

Other

### 0.11.0 — 2026-08-18

Episode 3: "The Wreck" is out now.

Months after New Eden, the Aurora is diverted to something crossing the frontier on a hyperbolic trajectory out of interstellar space. Third confirmed drifter in observable Alliance space. The first two were watched and lost. This one is emitting on a clock.

WHAT CHANGES STARTING WITH EPISODE 3

A new, more expressive voice engine.
Sarah Novak in Episode 2 was the first character to use it. Episode 3 brings it to the full cast, with a wider emotional range, more natural pauses and breathing, and performances that hold up when scenes get tense.

The relationship system is live.
It has been recording quietly since Episode 1. It now has enough history behind it to act on. How the crew treats you, and how much they are willing to tell you when it is just the two of you in a corridor, follows from what you have actually done across the season so far.

The crew is becoming less predictable.
In the first two episodes, everyone largely settled into recognizable roles. From here, those roles stop predicting every reaction. Under pressure, people can contradict themselves, lose their composure, or reveal sides of themselves you have not seen before.

IN EPISODE 3
- A Marcus-focused episode in a survival-horror register.
- 8 choices, including two major decisions that carry forward into later episodes.
- 19 new achievements and 6 new Codex entries, including two voiced interactive Workshops.
- New EVA suit artwork for the boarding party, plus new original music, sound design, and audio-reactive lighting effects inside the wreck.
- The Episode 3 trailer, viewable from the Episodes screen.

ALSO NEW
- The Codex opens from the pause menu. You can look something up mid-episode without losing your place, and new entries are flagged as you earn them.
- Episodes now unlock in order. Each episode becomes playable once the previous one is completed, keeping your choices and relationship history continuous across the season.

FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS
- Fixed fast-forward occasionally getting stuck.
- Fixed Codex entries tied to past decisions, including affected Episode 2 entries. Missing entries now appear retroactively.
- Fixed the leadership choice screen closing before the crew's vote was shown.
- Fixed duplicate voice lines in Episode 2 where the same clip played for different characters.
- Opening the Codex no longer triggers an autosave over your episode progress.
- Various improvements to audio balancing, Japanese text rendering, asset streaming, and stability.

Existing saves carry over. If you have finished Episode 2, Episode 3 picks up your crew relationships and past decisions automatically.
