The ai can be a bit easy sometimes in a full 15 creative crazy bots but that’s not your fault, I had an idea if the creators could comment about this. The idea, i know we have super units for every nation, the special nations get special ones. My idea would be that every nation had its own kind of super unit. For example, hoodrick would have a super archer, kickoo would have a pirate that shoots range attacks and melee for close up and can become a battleship in water. Ai mo can have a super healer doesn’t heal more per health but has a greater healing radius with more health. And so forth, variety to the nations. ### 5/5 — An unexpected masterpiece *2026-08-03, version 2.17.2* As someone who has played the civilisation franchise since Civilisation IV and someone who loved Age of Empires IV, I found myself unable to play them with my friends since I moved to India in the jungle with different time zones and a bad laptop. I found Polytopia to fill that niche, and surprisingly… I think it found the best of both worlds. Most people compare it to civilisation, but it feels more like age of empires to me. Civilisation is deep, but it is hard to get groups together and it drags on. Age of empires is amazing, but there is a lot of pressure to finish a game in one sitting. In Polytopia, i can set up my games to allow a whole week between games so I dont have to worry about power outages! The games are swift enough that there is always pressure and every turn feels meaningful. I think it may have become my favourite game, and I hope its popularity increases. ### 5/5 — Great Game *2026-08-02, version 2.17.2* I just adore this 4X strategy game with all of its unique tribes that change how you explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate in the beginning. This pigeon had purple feathers a purple feathered pigeon. Have you ever seen that in your life because I sure have it I hope you all have a blessed day goodbye in the Institute of Sigma wrestlers one day a great Sebastian was patrolling the grounds and he encountered a wild decor with two big horns. Do you have the door said hi then the door I highly recommend this brilliant app as it has an endeavour to help me greatly in my work life. It’s great. There’s eight of us who will play together. They’ve done a great job creating a simple but super fun game. It’s easy to learn, yet complex enough that it will take you time to master. I would love to see a true team version even if it doesn’t track your ELO. I would also love custom matches where we can edit some of the game options more. But overall great game. I’m not even a huge strategy game player, but there’s something about this game that keeps pulling me back. I’ll recommend it to friends whenever I can, and even when nobody wants to play, I still have plenty of ways to enjoy it. Playing against AI, trying different tribes, or just building a beautiful empire is enough to keep me entertained. The art style is easily one of my favorite parts. I recently played a game that lasted 99 turns, and I realized I was spending more time admiring the world I’d built than trying to win. I’d love to see more ways to appreciate the maps we create. Maybe a free camera, photo mode, or cinematic view would be amazing. I’d also love to see more tribes, skins, or cosmetic customization in the future. The gameplay already has so much replay value, and those additions would make every civilization feel even more unique. Thank you for making a game I’ve genuinely enjoyed for years. Unfortunately, each update unbalances the game further. After the last one, the AI is so hyper aggressive that tribes are being eliminated within 16 turns. This gives me no time to gather resources and defeat all 6 tribes for the maximum score. As the years have gone by, the developers have programmed the AI to cheat! Tribes spawn super units early in the game when they couldn’t possibly have the resources needed to do so. In one game I played today, a tribe spawned 2 super units in the first 10 moves without using up any of the resources around it. Truly unbelievable!! You can now take it for granted that the one unit needed to block your move or defeat you will be waiting hidden every single time. Underpowered AI units take out your full strength units regularly. It’s obvious the randomness of the game has been eliminated and that it’s clearly rigged against you. And, this is all in Normal mode!! I see no point in playing the game in Hard mode, given this level of imbalance. Shame on the developers for stooping so low and marring what used to be a wonderful game! Oh, in response to your lame reply from 3 years ago, which clearly is an attempt to deflect poor choices or incompetence on your part. The players that find it too easy can play in harder modes. That’s what they are there for, I assume. Everything I’ve written above is about Normal Mode. Thanks for the years of previous enjoyment but now, I’m out. ### 1/5 — New update has ruined multiplayer *2026-06-26, version 2.17.1* Special tribes are fun on their own, but including them as side AIs in a multiplayer game completely imbalances it. I’ve played it for years, and it’s continued to get heartfelt updates and quality of life patches. Every time I come back to it, there’s something new and I greatly appreciate it. I’ve supported the game with various tribe and skin purchases just because it’s rare a game gets this much heart put into it. I hope that the devs keep putting heart into this, because it’s genuinely so fun. I especially love pass n play mode, where two people can enjoy a game on the same device. Kinda nice for road trips and introducing someone new to the game. Keep it up fellas!
