## Most critical reviews (4 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Annoying ads

*2016-06-02*

Open the app and are forced to watch a full screen ad. BS.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2015-07-04*

Had a podcast playing loudly and even with the calibration set at the maximum the app only was
registering 40 decibels.

### 1/5 — Calibration is hopeless

*2014-11-12, version 1.0.2*

The measurement shown is hopelessly inaccurate. With the calibration slider maxed to the right, it is showing 39dB whereas I'm measuring 59dBA with a calibrated meter. The author needs to adjust the mid-point to be much higher. Remember that sound is measured at 1m from the mic. Also, is this showing dB or dBA?

### 1/5 — Poor simulation of a scientific instrument

*2014-10-01, version 1.0.2*

I wouldn't expect an app designed for iPads and iPhones to be accurate. The real deal is a very complex piece of equipment. However, this app is dreadful. The sound level is given (presumably) in dBA and is nowhere near expected results even when the so called "calibration" is turned up to "20". The human voice at a distance of 6 feet usually gives a reading of about 55 to 65 dBA - this app gives about 30 after turning up the calibration.

What would you expect in an app that spells "whisper" as "whishper".........

....in the bin.
