### 4/5 — Easy to navigate

*2025-02-02*

I read the bmj through app but also in print for Minerva and obituaries, to editorials, systematically from last pages to first. Old habits die hard!

### 3/5 — BMJ

*2024-11-11, version 1.3.7*

Not unbiased on strikes and their effect. Also not as comprehensive as previously. Why no BMJ for 2 weeks. Seems a regular occurrence to only have 1 BMJ per month and now printed on cheap paper. This weeks edition also not available 5/10/24

### 2/5 — Awful navigation!

*2024-09-14*

Please redesign this so it works consistently - the view depends on where you are, and there are no navigation buttons

Update. Now won’t open on iPhone!

### 4/5 — Good

*2024-08-25*

Good overall.
Takes a while to pick up new BMJ publications of the week

### 3/5 — BMJ APP

*2024-08-07, version 1.3.7*

Often doesn’t allow access to most recent edition

### 4/5 — Easy to navigate

*2024-03-04*

Read bmj through app but also in print for Minerva and obituaries, to editorials, systematically from last pages to first. Old habits die hard!

### 5/5 — Really good !!

*2022-10-28*

Would like a bit less subscription payment, otherwise journal and app is perfect.

### 5/5 — BMJ App

*2022-08-09, version 1.3.2*

Once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty easy to use.
Certainly saves on vast amounts of paper.

### 5/5 — Doctor

*2022-07-09*

Great way of reading BMJ when and where ever you have time. Thank you

### 5/5 — Medical independence - great work

*2022-02-11*

It’s great to see some real integrity in journalism. This has stood the test of time, we should be proud to have such a institution standing for reduced medical bias. And also fighting for integrity of data and pushing back on censorship and cancel culture.

### 4/5 — Everything’s perfect except....

*2021-12-08*

I love the BMJ app and use it almost every day. It’s well thought out and works great except for one inexplicable flaw: the links open in the app instead of opening my browser. They take forever to load, and when they do there’s no browser functionality, so when I click a PMID, for example, I can’t start a merry chain of citation exploration without switching to my browser and relocating the article so that have the capacity to navigate, webclip, and use all a browser’s normal accoutrements. Apart from this one weird defect, it’s perfect.

### 5/5 — BMJ app

*2021-08-28, version 1.3.1*

Excellent app

### 2/5 — Can’t get back to menu

*2021-08-05*

There appears to be no way to get back to contents page or main menu once you have opened an article without scrolling back past every preceding article

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2021-06-23*

Well designed app that make reading journals much easier

### 5/5 — Easy access to BMJ.

*2021-06-07*

Nothing to recycle and always available, if like me, your phone is the university library in your pocket. The app has become reliable since it first appeared.

As I got older it was the obituaries I read first until the pandemic. (In my 20s and 30s it was job adverts in the old print version!) The app doesn’t offer a full range of obituaries seemingly.
Throughout the pandemic BMJ has been an indispensable source of information often written by people I already trusted.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App never works

*2024-03-02, version 1.3.7*

App always asks to restore purchase and when I emailed them about it they said my account does not exist

### 1/5 — Poor updating of editions

*2023-12-19, version 1.3.7*

When I ask for the latest edition, it does not come up quickly.

### 1/5 — Poor Access

*2023-11-29, version 1.3.7*

Often doesn’t work and not up to date. Needs a whole overhaul.

### 1/5 — Can’t link to previous articles

*2023-10-30, version 1.3.7*

Can’t link to previous articles

### 1/5 — BMJ app is awful

*2022-01-16, version 1.3.1*

Very poor app. Slow and undoubtedly the most badly designed journal with an appalling layout.

### 1/5 — Only able to read one article then it freezes

*2021-04-10*

App otherwise looks slick, front contents page takes you through to an article. But then there is no way back. Only way out seems to be to force quit the app and start all over again - for each article!

### 1/5 — The BMJ

*2020-12-17*

I can’t access app despite paying a pretty penny for 2 months

### 1/5 — very skimmed down and it comes late.

*2020-04-23, version 1.2.1*

and i pay for it though they make a fortune from advertising

### 1/5 — Not working with BMA sign in

*2020-02-05, version 1.2.1*

Not currently working with BMA sign in - please fix!

### 1/5 — New bmjs do not download

*2019-08-25, version 1.2.1*

This is the opposite of an update. Please fix asap. Very annoying

So easy to receive the the BMJ via its app on my iPhone. The app is easy to use and has access to all back issues. Easy design is well adapted for smart phone or tablet.
