### 3/5 — Very good

*2026-05-22, version 2.4.3*

A lovely, simple UI. Great style and customisation. Just missing a few wee motivating stats etc but otherwise fantastic. 🙂

### 5/5 — Great and simple app for breathing

*2026-04-11, version 2.3.11*

Used app for 6 months already - it’s great, UI is amazing and breathing practice is easy to follow. Great, simple app - thank you devs!!

### 5/5 — Just right

*2026-04-02, version 2.3.11*

With a busy life finding moments to reconnect with my breath are so important. I found this app through listening to an interview with Elena Brower and the maker of this app and download it immediately. I am using it while I do my zazen practices to improve my breathing and it has been truly great! Intake breaks through the day and just breath for a couple of minutes instead of doom scrolling.
It’s been a very positive change for my mental wellbeing.

### 5/5 — Not for ipad?

*2026-03-28, version 2.3.11*

I have recommended this app over and over to clients, for the resonance breathing alone. Great for that. But when I try and demonstrate it on my iPad, the synchronization stops - the ball stalls on the middle half. Doesn’t do this on my iPhone.

Update - Developer responded and it is fixed! Back to loving it.

### 4/5 — Mixed results

*2026-03-20, version 2.3.10*

On the iPad Air, the expansion and contraction of the orb/sphere is not in sync with the breath count. It’s not even close and makes the app unusable on it.

Works on iPhone. So that’s good!

The developer reached out and said they are working on it. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Part of My Daily Routine

*2026-03-04, version 2.3.9*

I really enjoy using this app. The design is clean, calming, and very easy to use. I appreciate how simple and focused it is without unnecessary features getting in the way. I use it several times throughout the day and even set it as a shortcut on the Action button on my phone for instant access.

One feature that would make this app even better would be integration with Apple Health. Being able to track breathing sessions there would make it much easier for users to monitor consistency and overall wellness over time. I think this would be a great addition for many people who already rely on the Health app to track their habits.

Overall, this is a wonderful app and I look forward to seeing how it continues to grow. ✨

### 4/5 — Update broke audio cues

*2026-03-02, version 2.3.9*

Update: the sound cues have been improved, though I'm not 100% certain they are back to how they originally were. There is a longer pause than I remember between the inhale and exhale.

The latest update broke the audio cues. When you've got a hold of 0 - when you immediately exhale after inhaling - you need an audio cue telling you to slow down because the breath is about to change direction. These have been obliterated in the base breathing exercises. Moby's original cues aren't there anymore. (You don't need those cues when the hold isn't 0, but you do when it is.)

### 4/5 — Kids breathing

*2026-02-17, version 2.3.3*

Doing breathing every morning makes me feel calmer and much better for the day.

### 5/5 — Sound change

*2026-02-14, version 2.3.3*

I have been using this app for a few months now and loved it, the tone was perfect, much lower than others so it wasn’t annoying to listen to. Is there a way to get that low tone back? The current tone is slightly higher in pitch and very twangy making it not calming at all.

### 4/5 — New sound isn’t great

*2026-02-12, version 2.3.3*

Please change back to previous sound!

### 5/5 — Hopeful

*2026-02-06, version 2.3.1*

Love this app and the spirit behind it. Breathing is life. I am using the free version. I would pay for the app if it were a onetime lifetime fee of $50, if that is up for consideration. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Love it — keep expanding

*2026-01-31, version 2.2.20*

I’ve been using this app for breathing with the sphere for years and it really works for me. I just discovered Yin and Yang on Resonance 5:5 and would love to see that idea expanded to other choices like Calm and Energize.

### 5/5 — Best meditation app

*2026-01-31, version 2.2.20*

No frills just breath. My favorite way to meditate.

### 3/5 — Mixed results

*2026-01-22, version 2.2.20*

On the iPad Air, the expansion and contraction of the orb/sphere is not in sync with the breath count. It’s not even close and makes the app unusable on it.

Works on iPhone. So that’s good!

The developer reached out and suggested that I reinstall the app, so I will do that and update my review if warranted.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-01-15, version 2.2.20*

The most simple and effective breathing/ meditation app

### 2/5 — Meh

*2026-01-13, version 2.2.20*

It’s okay but free gets you nothing

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — forced subscription??

*2026-06-29, version 2.4.6*

opened the app, did one single breath, and then it played an animation saying a free trial has been activated?? i dont want a free trial! im never going to buy a subscription to this or any app because i dont have any money! just feels predatory like theyre going to start charging me after the “free trial” ends if i dont go out of my way to cancel. so they get money out of people who try it, dont like it, and delete the app. why is every piece of software anti-user now?? no soul, just cold extraction of funds, the endless financialisation of everything

### 1/5 — paid breathing app

*2026-06-26, version 2.4.6*

breathing app suggesting you a 7 day free trial is crazy, ill just go to youtube instead.

### 1/5 — Awful on iPad Air

*2025-12-31, version 2.2.19*

The expansion and contraction of the orb/sphere is not in sync with the breath count. It’s not even close and makes app unusable.

### 1/5 — Update ruined the app

*2025-12-21, version 2.2.19*

I used to be able to play the app in the background while I had an audiobook or music going. Now it won’t play in the background.

### 1/5 — subscription for a breathing app is too much

*2025-12-04, version 2.2.15*

i liked it better when it was free. i’m going to find an app that’s more ethical in terms of services. even if i dont need the premium features, money farming like this is just wrong.

### 1/5 — New update

*2025-02-22, version 2.2.8*

The audacity of adding a SUBSCRIPTION on a video of a ball that gets bigger and smaller is insane. Pisses me off. The greed is disgusting. I’m a long time user of this app. It’s been a great tool for managing anxiety. There’s nothing to pay for here. Don’t waste your money. Just screen record a YouTube video or something.

### 1/5 — What happened?

*2025-02-03, version 2.2.7*

The ball is just a white circle now, the ratios are all wrong. Used to be simple and perfect.

### 1/5 — Why did you ruin the app?

*2025-01-30, version 2.2.7*

I’ve used this app for YEARS, it was simple and free. They removed basic features and charge $44/year to get them back. No thanks. The UI is confusing, with the “< >” settings, good luck figuring out what to do. *edit to reply to dev* no long can I change the in/exhale values, they’re locked to your choices. It’s almost like you did no user testing (w/ the “tap <>…” and “set ball/night” what’s that even mean?). I see other reviewers feel the same, I even emailed to ask for the old app. No reply.

### 1/5 — Não funciona mais

*2025-01-28*

Era excelente, não funciona mais se apago a tela. Uma pena😫

### 1/5 — Why mess with perfection?

*2025-01-27, version 2.2.7*

This app is terrible now since the update, you used to be able to use the app in the background while music or videos were playing - even when the device is asleep. Now that feature is gone and there’s a weird pause between all the breaths, the breath ball is also glitchy and doesn’t sync up with the audio. This was the perfect app for breathing exercise and some goofball decided to mess with it and failed miserably.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Супер

*2026-07-06*

После прочтения книги «Дыхание» я все искала способ делать вдох и выдох 5,5 сек. Пробовала и таймеры, и секундомеры. А тут прям куча вариантов - и не надо ничего считать. Идеально

### 5/5 — Just Breathe

*2026-06-23, version 2.4.5*

In this world part trash fire/part awe inspiring world, I can’t really summon up “just” type ease about much. I am grateful to anything anyone ever considered holy for tools and approaches to abiding and transcending- and that’s what this simple and “just right” app helps me do. The tone really does it for me and resting into the cadence of resonance breathing is a really worthy way to spend some time.

### 5/5 — A good vibe

*2026-06-17, version 2.4.5*

This really helps me feel better than I did before 👍😌

### 5/5 — Simple and effective

*2026-06-17, version 2.4.5*

This app is super easy and effective and addictive!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-05-31, version 2.4.5*

Comfortable and easy to follow instruction.

### 5/5 — Calming

*2026-05-28, version 2.4.5*

This breathing app helps my mind slow down. It helps me calm down too.
I appreciate this breathing app.
The world is moving quickly in a wild direction. This app is needed more today than ever.

### 5/5 — Exactly what is needed, nothing more.

*2026-05-10, version 2.4.2*

Nice, simple, effective.

### 5/5 — Magical Mystery Tour

*2026-04-27, version 2.4.1*

The Breathing App helps me escape into a calm Zen happy place.

### 5/5 — Helps me focus.

*2026-04-16, version 2.3.11*

This app helps me focus on my breathing while I try to slow down and fill up my lungs properly with belly breathing. The time passes so quickly while I’m practicing. I use it to help my breathing and reduce my body’s stress response, but it’s also a great meditation tool.

### 5/5 — Easy & effective

*2026-04-16, version 2.3.11*

Simple to use, no unnecessary extras. Use it daily.
