It seems to be 2 or 3 or 4 random stories, they flash on the screen, then it goes to a loading spinner in the middle of the screen. I initially contacted them on 5-26, and have sent 25 emails about the problem. And most of those are replies to their repeated asks about the problem, including probably 10 that ask “what is the specific error message?” I have lost all patience with them, I am sick of asking why they don’t READ THE THREAD. And the replies that say what device, I’ll send you instructions to clear your cache, or reset your router, or make sure you sign in. Cause apparently only random stories will be affected by those issues. ### 1/5 — App is Terrible *2026-04-12, version 9.19.3* Don’t know why but when I am thumbing through the e-edition, you cannot go back a page. It’s reason enough for me to cancel my subscription. ### 5/5 — App works well; great to get local news *2025-09-21, version 9.18* I grew up with the Buffalo News and now that I live out of town I still enjoy getting the news online. The app is well organized and easy to use. ### 1/5 — Terrible user experience *2025-08-09, version 9.18* This is easily one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. The user experience is bad in many way but two things drive me nuts. First, headlines will show up in Twitter but clicking on that link doesn’t give you the option to open the mobile app, like WaPo or The Atlantic. Second, if I open the app once I see a breaking headline on Twitter, I usually can’t find the article. Shouldn’t be that hard to provide a better experience. ### 4/5 — Notification/Alert System *2025-08-04* I do like the app. It has some very nice features: being able to read the print version, the games and comics section, and it’s easy to navigate. I’m not really a sports fan. It seems 8/10 stories I receive are about the Bills, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to turn that off and just get breaking local and national news. Overall, though, it’s a decent app. **Developer response:** We appreciate the positive review! If you raise the top of the iPad to make it vertical, the page immediately resets and goes to the top.
