### 5/5 — Caged

Love the gameplay of this app! but definitely I wish there was more of your games released in English💕
But to whoever wants to lay this, def give this a go!

### 5/5 — Amazing

Play this game you will not regret it I need more games like this one

### 5/5 — One of the best things I’ve played.

*2020-05-02, version 1.0.1*

I have to say, I am floored. Everything, from the phenomenal music to the beautiful art is amazing. This game is so wonderful, but keep in mind it isn’t for the faint of heart.

I wish there were more endings, but it is enough for me. I just finished the Love Nest Ending and I cried- Making me emotional is a very hard task. Can I find the song used for the ending credits of Love Nest somewhere?

The only advice I have is to translate the game better. There are often grammar errors and mistakes in the dialogue.

Thank you for this wonderful game. I’ll be sure to check out your others.

Thank you so much for translating it.

I thank you with my whole heart

### 5/5 — Great game, story, and art.

*2019-07-25, version 1.0.1*

I fully recommend this game to anyone considering getting this game on the switch. The game is very lenient with “energy” compared to other SEEC games. You can watch videos to get candles instead of paying or waiting. Plus the loading screen for the video is super cute. The story itself is really interesting ! The art is unbelievably good as well. There are pieces for each ending which is amazing for a free app. The only problem I had is with the butchered translation; pronouns were the most notable. The characters are very lovable and there are some cute interactions.

### 5/5 — Amazing

This game is so interesting and it is actually worth it to buy the items in this game. The story is so interesting.

### 5/5 — Good game

*2019-07-06, version 1.0.1*

I’ve always been a fan of SEEC inc. games. Although this plays less like one since the removal of the search and interrogate function. It’s more of a story than a game, although I prefer the escape room functions, this was also fun and kept me very confused all the way until the end. Although the translation mistakes makes it a little hard to discern the characters.

### 5/5 — Great as always

*2019-06-19, version 1.0.0*

Probably my favorite Seec game so far, while every other one was amazing this just slayed so hard. The translator didn’t do the best job and there was a lot of gender mistakes to the point in which I couldn’t tell what gender some characters were but the story line besides that was amazing! There was a lot of plot twists and I really didn’t expect the ending to be honest. Because it kept me really invested I ended up buying the unlimited stamina and thinking of buying the extra story packs! I would recommend this game to anyone that doesn’t mind a few mistakes

### 5/5 — Yup

*2019-06-14*

Pretty good if you enjoy light novels. The plot twist at the end was wild. There are slight grammatical errors, but I personally don’t mind.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Disturbing

*2020-04-02, version 1.0.1*

I’ll start by saying I’m not a very squeamish person. I’m into many horror anime/manga and I love a good mystery, but this particular seec game made me feel sick after completion.

The beginning was pretty normal for a mystery. A girl with amnesia waking up in a strange castle, then trying to figure out what’s going on. I won’t go into too much detail about the plot but that should give a general idea.

I have to say I enjoyed most of the story. The characters were interesting and the mystery kept you on edge, but the ending destroyed the entire experience for me, to the point where I don’t think I’ll complete other endings.

**spoilers ahead**

It’s revealed that Robin and her “Master” had a relationship even though she’s a minor. She became pregnant but lost the child, which caused her to go crazy.

Now I’m no psychologist, but relationships between adults and young children are NOT okay. Shortly after hearing this “plot twist” and finishing the ending, I had to cut off the game and do my best not to feel sick. I understand that some things may be much more socially acceptable in Japan, but this is a little too much. I wouldn’t have expected seec to create a story like this, and I’m honestly very disappointed and disgusted.

### 2/5 — I just feel very disturbed by one aspect in the plot... (Yes! Spoiler Alert!)

*2019-08-04, version 1.0.1*

The game was well made, and, I loved the mystery aspect of Seec Inc. as usual, but...

*Spoilers*

I am really concerned though about this company‘s views on ‘romance’ in general.

I had some issues since Jimi-Kare despite being my MOST favorite game by Seec. Where, if some know what I mean, the MC gets a bad ending where apparently it’s implied she got r*ped by Nao.

Like, it’s not something to easily put in a free game too since you expect to get a younger audience as well since Japanese style games are ‘kawaii’ / cute, that they gain a wide-range audience especially a younger one.

Okay! So back onto the main point...

The biggest issue I had with this game, is that, when I finishing it, apparently we learn that our protagonist, Robin, turns out to be an amnesiac, WIFE of the character Lord Waldstein- who is implied in his twenties by the way, and that, apparently he fell in love with her when he ADOPTED her at the age of thirteen! Like? And also, to top it all, we learn that Robin and him apparently have a dead child.

It is very disturbing in my opinion to have this type of plot since I noticed that ‘romanticizing’ of certain, REALLY ‘bad’ and ‘controversial’ topics like ‘abusive relationships’ and ‘rapes’, are being romanticized easily; even despite this is meant to be a ‘Gothic’ and ‘Dark’ genre under label. I don’t want to make this review further controversial of an opinion as it is, but I just want to also end this by saying that I notice this trend happening lately in East Asian- specifically, in Japanese media lately. Especially in the genre of Shoujo where topics related to emotions like ‘Romance’, is explores in-depth. Even as an East Asian myself I am saying that these kind of ‘tropes’ shouldn’t be romanticized: where an old man ends up falling in love with, marrying, and impregnating a young girl.

### 3/5 — fun game, but…

*2022-12-04*

this game’s fun so far, but the English translation is not very good. It can be confusing, and inconsistent. Pronouns are especially inconsistent, many characters are referred to as ‘he’ and ‘she’ at different times so I have no idea what Drossel’s gender is. I know Japanese doesn’t use pronouns and that example isn’t a big deal to me, but in general the story can be hard to follow. I’d love to buy the Golden Lantern package but I currently don’t think it is worth it as an English speaking player.

Please find someone to fix the English translation! I really like this game and I want to support its developers but right now it is difficult to justify paying for a game that isn’t very enjoyable.

### 3/5 — It was fantastic until….

*2021-10-03, version 1.0.1*

So overall the story was really interesting. The mystery kept me guessing and the characters were unique. The art was very well done too. But I’m sad to say the Love Nest ending really killed my vibe. Or rather it was more what came directly before it that did me in.
*******Spoilers below********
I’m so sick of writers making the conscious choice to have a romance between a literal child and a grown man. Seriously, she was 13 when she met the master who instantly had feelings for her. He then bought her, groomed her, and married her once she turned 16. He got her pregnant at age 16 too. For anyone thinking 16 is old enough, I remember when I was 16 and I was 100% not mentally mature enough to be called an adult. It would have been easy to make her older or him younger. Or figure out some way to have them meet at a different time if they were the same/similar age and the master wasn’t yet old enough to make such a purchase. Either way this ruined it for me. In this day and age you’d think we’d be past the trend of having young girls romantically involved with adult men but I seem to be finding it in this type of media often lately. Just, why?🙄😒

### 4/5 — a very good game, except for 'the thing'

*2020-12-01, version 1.0.1*

i really enjoyed playing this game and i almost feel guilty for doing so. the plot had wonderful twists and turns you can least expect and memorable characters that enhanced the story. they are extremely interesting and unique, including the MC herself whose plain character gives her a sense of identity.

i played through this whole game (all endings plus the epilogue) in about 8 hours. it's not at all difficult to obtain energy since you can watch ads as many times as you want to gain candles. it takes time to grind for this item, but it's really the only item you really need unless you want the extras. skipping through the text can be a bit of a problem especially when replaying, but it's not that big of an issue to really get in the way of enjoying the game.

-spoilers ahead-

the only thing i didn't enjoy was the explicit implication that the mc and the lord of the castle had a relationship with each other when she was very young. it felt very uncomfortable to have that truth revealed during the last three endings. i understand that it is a dark themed game, so i should expect that there are very dark themes involved. however, i think that a warning should be given out to anyone who is interested in playing since this is a possible trigger for people.

### 4/5 — Great except for “that”

*2020-10-31, version 1.0.1*

===SPOILERS BELOW===

The whole.... guy buying a 13 year old girl to groom to be his wife thing really just kind of grossed me out. The whole time, I had this really weird feeling of sexual tension or something between the two, but I was like “No, she’s just 17, he’s an adult who paid to bring her from an orphanage.” But oh no, I WISH he bought a 17 year old from the orphanage to marry. Yeugh.

### 4/5 — THE BEST

*2019-08-26, version 1.0.1*

I read, I smiled, I gasped, I cried, and I loved this game so much oh my god I loved everything about it: the art, the characters, the plot, the twists, the endings (seriously I cried). The only reason this game doesn’t get 5 stars from me is that the translations were clearly off, which got annoying and confusing at times. But still; absolutely wonderful game, definitely a new favorite

### 4/5 — Still very worth it to play

*2019-07-21*

There is the grammatical errors which can be confusing. I also wish I can read the main endings without going through every options again. Still a great game and I may have watched ads endlessly just to finish it. I like the art and style.

### 5/5 — Steam port / Offline visual novel!

*2024-06-14*

I hope this gets ported to Steam! I plan to play it more on steam deck

Old review: It’s rare to see an offline visual novel these days. Thank you for this!

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — One of their best games imo

*2022-05-26, version 1.0.1*

This game had a creepy vibe, but kept me interested the whole time. The plot twist gad me bawling my eyes out and everything that I had read up until that point and being SO confused, all made sense.

SPOILERS

As others have stated, the MC had a relationship with the lord of the castle all along and lost her baby to a miscarriage, and went crazy over it losing her memory. A lot of people see to be disturbed by the fact that she married a man and had sex at 16, but as people should know, in the olden days, it was common for girls to marry at 16. I was just taking this as a hint that this game is set in the olden days. It sure looks like it in the game. So because I am seeing this game in timeline where this kind of thing was acceptable, it didn’t bother me. The MC didn't appear to upset by any of this too. She loved her baby and looked like she loved the master. They loved each other so much, they both killed themselves so they could be together with their baby. I lost i5 at the end and am still crying.

Aside from the English translation not being very good and lots if typos, overall I thoroughly enjoyed this game and think it’s one of SEEK’s best games. And I’ve played quite a few if them.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2020-12-16, version 1.0.1*

The story line. The art! Everything was amazing. I cried the ending is shocking..

### 5/5 — Good game with bad English

*2020-11-11, version 1.0.1*

The game itself is well-made but texts are unnatural

### 5/5 — Bugged/Unknow

*2020-11-08, version 1.0.1*

It’s all still goood 5 stars mabye there a bug evertime or some times it freezes and have to do agin or mabye lose Hearst’s agin That’s all but it’s good keep up the work💕😋✌🏻

### 5/5 — Great

*2020-07-29*

this was quite entertaining. this company produces good games, they just need to release more english ones 😩

### 5/5 — a thrilling & suspenseful visual novel

*2020-07-17, version 1.0.1*

for those out there who like visual novels that keep you wanting to read more, this ones for you. an intriguing and complex story that keeps you on edge. the characters are all interesting. they can be unsettling at times yet still likeable, unique and unpredictable. i would like, however, to give a fair warning that some of the topics related to the plot and the dialogue can be a bit uncomfortable for those who are not used to psychological horror themes. i adore the music and the art style. it gives a really immersive experience.

my only problem (& the reason why i couldn’t give it 5 stars) is the translation. it’s not good. it took me out of the experience most of the chapters because the translation is simply not good. it’s confusing and distracting. there’s always a phrase or a sentence in the dialogue on every chapter that makes me pause for a minute, read again and try to understand what they meant. literally.

other than that and the uncomfortable topics that might not exactly be.. ‘fun’ reading..

it’s worth giving it a shot if you like dark visual novels and can get past the mistranslation throughout the entire game.

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2020-07-17*

Honestly, this is a very good game with a wonderful story, love the music and images. Though, it can get confusing at first with a few grammatical errors here and there, but overall, really well-made!

### 5/5 — im choking back tears (of happiness)

*2020-05-25, version 1.0.1*

from the adds to the ending this game is incredible!!! I absolutely love the ending, and all the characters are my favorite!!!! i was not expecting the ending and that only made the plot twist better!! The game made me have a whole new aspect on life, and now i life my life in the most joyful way possible!!!
