The flashcards are a great way to learn to identify different ducks. As a new hunter, it has been very helpful in preparing for the season. It has nice biographies, photos, and distribution maps of each duck species for a foundation. After reviewing these, I’ve found the flashcards to be great for practicing species recognition. Have a great season. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Noises and ducks *2025-11-25* As an experienced duck hunter, I know that some of the calls are wrong, for example, the mallards and shovelers calls are reused and it is also missing a few ducks like the green wing teal. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback; really appreciate you checking out the app. You’re right about the Northern Shoveler call mix-up, and it’s been fixed in the latest update. Green-winged Teal were already included. All ducks in the USFWS Ducks at a Distance guide are covered - Mottled and Mexican Ducks were not in that guide but will get added to the app shortly. No thank you. **Developer response:** hey SpartanMonk, I really appreciate you giving The Call a try, and I'm sorry it didn't hit the mark for you. Just to clear a few things up: 1. If you turn on location, it's only used to pull in local weather for your hunt logs and isn't shared with external companies. Totally get not wanting to share it though which is why we also provide a location lookup feature. 2. I do use basic Google Analytics to see which features people use most so I know where to focus improvements, nothing personal or identifying. 3. I don't share or sell any personally connected data, everything is used to improve the app experience. I totally get that the interface might not work for everyone, I'm actively making updates to smooth things out and simplify navigation. There are so many great features on this app. I’m glad I made the right choice the first time. From visual identification to call identification this app has it all. Plus you can quiz your self with the flash cards to help make identification a snap reaction. I recommend this app to new and seasoned hunters. It’s a great tool to have. There's no service near where I go so it's nice they thought through making the species available offline. Most app's I've found you have to be online which just doesn't work.
