### 5/5 — Simply wonderful

*2020-03-10*

The Candid Frame is a delightful surprise. You see, I’m about as technically ignorant a photographer as you can imagine. This podcast includes me by speaking to every imaginable dimension of photography. I may not understand the mechanics of my lenses, but I do understand composition and a sense of wonder. The Candid Frame is pure dialogue. It’s poetry. It’s jazz. It’s mysticism. And for all of those reasons I am a convert and tune in regularly!

### 5/5 — My Daily Dose of “Can Do”

*2019-12-17*

I was introduced to The Candid Frame on December 9, 2019. I created a post for my friends to donate point and shoot cameras to a program I’m attending in Oaxaca, Mexico. My friend Chuck responded but sharing Jasmin Mara Lopez’s story. Since then, I’ve been working my way backwards loving every chance I get to learn from very talented photographers. In my heart I feel inspired and taking baby steps to sharing more of my passion for photography. Thank you so much for the insightful conversation!

### 5/5 — Simply the best

The Candid Frame is simply the best photography podcast. Ibarionex is a superb interviewer who draws the deepest feelings and thoughts from his guests. And he has a keen eye as a photographer.

### 5/5 — Great program, great app

There are many ways to listen to this podcast but ‘the app’ is the best. #1 photo podcast in my opinion.

### 5/5 — Inspirational and motivational. I support this podcast, and Ibarionex’s efforts

*2019-05-09*

I found The Candid Frame a few years ago. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of listening to all of the back episodes. Each episode features a photographer who always has an interesting story of the work they do, and why they do it. I’m always excited when I get the announcement that the next episode is available, and I look forward to finding time to listen soon after. I have enjoyed the podcast, books, videos, and webpage so much that when Ibarionex came to NYC to give a workshop, I immediately signed up. I also support the podcast through Patreon, because I’m branching off my business from strictly videography, to that and photography. Ibarionex, and the other photographers, provide a window into their approaches. This gives me ideas to think of what my approach is, and what I want to do with it. I’m still learning, and I suppose I will always be still learning. (Pun discovered.)

A fantastic pod cast -intelligent and moving interviews with some of the world’s best photographers - the host elicits revealing and articulate responses from his guests.

### 5/5 — National treasure masquerading as a podcast

*2019-02-23*

This is so much bigger than a photography podcast. Think of it as great conversations with smart, interesting people who have the chance to talk about things in life that really matter to them. Quality of interviews is right up there with the best of anything done by Charlie Rose at his best. If you are interested in art, life, and growing as a human being you owe it to yourself to check this out.

### 5/5 — One of the best photography resources available anywhere

*2018-12-16*

I’ve been listening to The Candid Frame podcasts using this app for more than a year now. The app is very functional and well designed. The quality of the content is consistently excellent. Ibarionex Perello is a terrific interviewer and writer as well as a very talented photographer. The Candid Frame Podcast and related website and social media sites (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) enables and supports an online community of photographers who have been sharing and discussing their work in a constructive, inclusive, and supportive manner for more than a decade. As someone who has taken up photography more seriously after a 25 year career teaching design at a university, I can say that I have found The Candid Frame to be the single most useful resource/community for photography that I have found online.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2018-10-18, version 2.5.9*

Ibarionex is great host, he knows how to listen, asks the questions I would ask. Part interview, part biography, sometimes a meditation on photography, always worthwhile and interesting guests.

### 5/5 — The best photography podcast hands down

*2018-09-18*

I listen to TCF religiously and wait with anticipation for each new episode.
Ibarionex is an outstanding interviewer and photographer and what’s best about TCF is that there is very little to no gear being discussed. It’s all about passion, story and philosophy.
I’ve discovered some of my favorite photographers through this podcast.
Cheers and enjoy!!

### 5/5 — Absolutely the best

*2018-09-16, version 2.5.9*

If I have time to listen to only one photo blog this is the one I listen to. Talented interviewer and interesting guest photographers. Talking about the work and not the tools. Always inspiring.

### 5/5 — Insightful and inspiring

*2018-07-27, version 2.5.9*

It’s great to hear the artist side of photography, with less focus on the technical side. Inspiring to hear the pros talk so personally.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 4/5 — Great user expirence

*2013-10-23, version 1.19.10*

As a fan of The Candid Frame for a few years now I have always enjoyed and recommended Ibarionex's podcast to other photographers and artists. He is a great interviewer and really gets the interviewee to open up to the viewers. This app makes enjoying the podcast even easier with a dedicated interface and I love the ability to star my favourites as there are several photographers who I can listen to the interviews over again.

Only 1 negative come to mind. It is simply the links and such forth in the written blurb aren't clickable or even highlightable (is that a real word?) so that I can view the photographers personal website from the app with a simple jump to the web browser. The work around is I have to pop to the blog post for the links by clicking the little e on the corner.

### 4/5 — A wonderful podcast gets even better!

*2010-05-25, version 0*

The Candid Frame is a fantastic podcast. Mr. Perello always chooses interesting guests and asks insightful questions. A great way to learn about photography from people who "live a photographic life". Now it's an app - what more could you want?

### 5/5 — Great conversations with photographers

*2024-07-28*

The interviews also includes links to their work and the last question recommending another photographer’s link.

### 5/5 — Best photography podcast anywhere

*2022-08-04, version 2.5.9*

Since finding Ibarionex podcast I’ve listened to as many episodes as I can, in the hope to catch up on them all! His easy, comfortable and relaxed manor puts his interviewees at ease and every episode feels like a natural conversation with his guest.
Highly recommend to anyone interested in creativity, especially related to photography and no gadget and jargon talk! Just great creative chat.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2022-05-03, version 2.5.9*

I am so glad that I found this podcast. The interviews are insightful and in-depth and I’m learning about people who I had not heard of as well as some of the better names in the profession.

### 5/5 — A Gem of a Podcast

*2021-08-17, version 2.5.9*

Definitely not a podcast for gear heads. TCF is essentially a deep dive into photographers as artists, story tellers and concepts with the focus on the medium of photography as a method to create and communicate. I dont find every podcast interesting but the ones that I do are pure gold. If you care more about the image than the gear used to make that image, look no further than the candid frame.

### 5/5 — Master and inspire your Photography.

*2021-07-25*

My favorite photographer podcasts all in one place. Listen to them all and learn. My preference is to start in 2006 and move forward while simultaneously listening to the newest episode. There are so so many wonderful nuggets and learnings from almost twenty years ago. Hearing how photography has changed and transformed over this some span is incredible. Insights from masters with different perspectives all in one place is very rare. Enjoy and learn!

### 5/5 — A real boost in a burst of photo joy.

*2021-01-28*

What an enjoyable, informative treasure-trove of unique visions & voices, esp. for photographers. In a calm, positive & gorgeous voice, the host engages each photographer in a way that makes you feel you’re at a table with friends, ready to order another round. Great questions. Each story is individual and can to cover a range - from their childhoods, first jobs, the subjects they love, their current projects, all authentic enough to affirm the listeners’ own weirdness er story and still lavish with survival tips anyone who’s listening very closely.

### 5/5 — Great photography podcast

*2020-11-24, version 2.5.9*

I am enjoying listening to this podcast. The interviews are in depth and the guests rate top notch photographers. Bravo!

### 5/5 — The best photography podcast around

*2020-11-17, version 2.5.9*

Week after week, year after year, wonderful in-depth interviews with a diverse and interesting range of great photographers. Ibarionex Perello always gets the best out of them. My all time favorite is Peter Turnley, and I learned a lot from the recent one with Amy Toensing, as well as those with Cheriss May and Idris Solomon, John Isaac, Barbara Peacock and An Rong Xu ... to name but a few.

## Most praised reviews (2 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great content and audio quality

*2020-03-18, version 2.5.9*

Ibarionex Perello has that perfect voice for these podcasts. His articulate and intelligent interviews are exceptional in this world of voices screaming for attention.

### 5/5 — The best photography podcast by a mile.

*2020-03-12, version 2.5.9*

The best photography podcast by a mile.
