Our Christmas Eve dinner was, without a doubt, the best ever! The food, the service, the attentiveness, and the ambiance were off the charts! Daniel and Andrew are just awesome! I’m not sure how the team there continues to out do themselves, but they do! It was amazing, the staff was prompt & professional, we asked for the chef Mr Dandan because we wanted to let him know exactly how much we appreciated his special meal. Mr Dandan was a pleasure to speak with, he discussed the cuts of steak we choose, how it was prepared and the restaurant history. He’s a treasure, so personable, professional and humble. I seldom get the opportunity to commend restaurants However, by far yours is a Definitely a five star restaurant from the upbeat location, to the great selection of wines. The waiter recommended what he liked best was the Mac & cheese which let me say it was amazing. We only wish you would consider opening one closer to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The food is delicious, the service has always been exceptional, and the atmosphere is wonderful. I’ll be making a reservation in a few weeks to celebrate another milestone birthday. If you try to change locations within the wine list part of the app it crashes the app ### 1/5 — Not on par with Steaks! *2019-06-03* The steaks and service are truly great at Capital Grille. This app is not (locations search not available most of the time, hangs up frequently). Has been like this for a year. A really cool feature, paying through the app, was on there for a few months and then disappeared without explanation. In my use of travel apps only Hertz is worse. Please fix. ### 2/5 — Generous pour *2019-07-14* July 13th dinner and generous pour. I had dinner at the Hartford location. I am only giving it 2 stars on the wine in the generous pour. I love the capital Grille food. I have been to a lot of generous pour events at the capital Grille. The July 2019 wines were substandard to me. The wines were very harsh. There was only one that was tolerable. I have enjoyed the generous pout in the past. I don’t know who chose the wines this time around. But, most of the red wines burned as you swallowed them. Even some of the whites were not very good. The only wine that I cared for was the Chardonnay. Which, surprised me very much. I am not a Chardonnay drinker. There are so many wines out there, that are not costly. Yet, they are smooth. I have to say. Many of their wines though wines are designed for those on expense accounts. This app, while providing some solid basic info, pushes overpriced wines as "recommended" when less expensive wine options would have been wonderful. I saw recommended wines listed at a thousand bucks. Really??? We attend over a dozen wine dinners a year so we may be entitled to suggest that one need not get a 2nd mortgage to get good wine. Recently I had dinner with a friend that I haven’t seen in quite some time. My friend suggested this establishment & I fell in love almost immediately. The service was outstanding, the ambiance extremely comfortable & the food was magnificent. Being from Queens I was hesitant because I wanted to go somewhere comfortable and close to home knowing the food would be great (Morton’s in Great Neck is my usual suspect). After dinner I was literally shocked and subsequently hooked. The following week I took both my sons (Anthony 18 & Michael 14) Michael had thePorcini crusted ribeye with lobster mac & cheese and the crabcakes for an appetizer. Anthony had the cut bacon appetizer with bone in filet and mashed potatoes. During dinner we were approached by Amy Condron and she introduced herself as the manager and greeted us with a warm spirit & gentle tone. I introduced both my children indicating Anthony was a student at ST. John’s University and Michael a freshman in H.S. in a debut culinary program in NYC with a specific, focused and heavy concentration on the culinary arts. Amy kindly engaged Michael showing a keen & genuine interest, making him feel like he was networking and creating contacts (Amy was truly gold). After dinner we were surprised with a personal greeting my Chef Mohamed for Michael (arranged by Amy) as he gave some tips, advice and general discussion regarding our dinner that evening. My experience could not have been more pleasant. I consider myself a regular now & will be booking a 75th birthday party this fall for my Uncle. It’s an actual breath of fresh air experience at The Capital Grill with outstanding and delicious food, a warm staff and a clean & beautiful ambiance.
