I like all the cats except yolky because he’s mean, he even called me stupid one time! I uninstalled and reinstalled the app just to get rid of him. The way to get more gems is pretty easy, check in with auntie ruby every other hour on even number hours and buy cat medicine as much as you can, then just don’t feed the cats for a few days and wait for them to get sick sounds terrible I know but then you can give them medicine and earn a lot of gems. When you spend 100 gems the cat god will give you gifts. Also buy all the toys and play with the cats and you can earn gems. Be careful when you buy things with gems because anything you buy with coins you can sell but what you buy with gems you can’t sell later. One more important thing! if you have multiple sick cats you have to collect the reward before treating the next cat or you will only get rewarded for one. There’s just something about the artwork, style, music, and of course the story between the cats. It has me checking back quite often just for new furniture or more food for my fur babies (gotta keep stock) . For a simulation mobile game, this checks all the boxes for me.
