### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2024-02-07*

The app has poor functionality and even worse UI. I especially dislike being dead ended on to a page which I can only get out of by giving them my phone number, why do I need to give you my number to log out? Terrible

### 1/5 — Defunct

*2023-09-22*

Just received instructions to download this app to book in for a conference and it’s infuriating. Forced to log in via Apple, Facebook or Google+. One of those is notorious for stealing data, another literally doesn’t exist anymore and if you think I’m giving an hotel app my Apple data you have another thing coming. What happened to signing in with an email? You already have my number. What more could you need?

### 1/5 — Old and tired, like the hotel management?

*2022-11-06*

What an experience. Heaven knows what someone without a smartphone is supposed to do. A demonstration of how not to implement an app to run a hotel. Why oh why is this still so poor. Having to book a breakfast when the dining room was near empty. Scrolling menus plonks you back at the home page instead of just going back a step. And The Manor rabbit warren. Won’t be staying again

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2022-10-28*

I can’t believe Celtic Manor are still using this. It didn’t work when I stayed there 5 months ago and still doesn’t work now. Issues happen but you would think they’d act on feedback and improve this

### 1/5 — What’s the point?

*2022-10-12*

Just installed the app to check in and get a digital key. Won’t let me complete sign up to do so. My email is showing correctly and I can’t enter my mobile number to continue with login. Pointless.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work, so why bother?

*2022-09-05*

App doesn’t work, which creates a massive issue at a conference full with hundreds of people. Just get a normal card at reception, but you might have to queue for ages behind hoards of other people locked out of their room. Terrible,

### 1/5 — Junk

*2022-07-30*

Don’t bother. Prefect example of something being done on the cheap and the execution is awful. No self respecting brand would have launched it. Let’s hope the hotel is better.

### 1/5 — Quite simply it just doesn’t work

*2022-03-21*

Conference of 600 people, about 500 had to queue at reception because the app would not work for them. I hope they didn’t pay much to have this developed, it’s awful.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2022-01-15*

Not easy to use. Just links to various parts of website. Impossible to find booking link for pool and gym session.

### 1/5 — Poor

*2021-12-19*

Clunky app where nothing works. Even something as simple As the check in time fails to
Work properly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Utterly Useless

*2024-12-20*

Simply put, it just doesn’t work.

I have stayed multiple times and tried it again and again thinking Celtic Manor will have fixed it.

It lets me enter my details, but doesn’t check me in. I’ve never managed to get a digital key on it. Always need to check in at reception. Asked them at my last stay and was told even for those it works for them the digital key doesn’t and they get locked out of their rooms!!

Yet still, every time I stay I get sent a link telling me to download it and check in via it. It’s a total joke especially as all the reviews say the same thing and yet the hotel does nothing to rectify it and just keeps pushing this useless app. Shameful.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work!

*2024-11-27*

Would love to check in on be line but the app won’t let me. It also does not have a phone no to contact the hotel when you can’t check in online.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-09-17*

Can’t access room key without signing in using one of the three provided methods (facebook, google and something else), despite already being signed into the app via work email address. Reservation emails state ‘feel free to use the Talk to Us functionality in the app’, only it doesn’t exist. Navigation is terrible, often need to close the app and re-open to get back to where you were trying to go.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2024-08-28*

Completely useless. I can’t book anything for our stay, the back buttons don’t work and it’s incredibly glitchy. And yet they do nothing about it. Guests deserve better than this.

### 1/5 — Simply doesn’t work :(

*2024-06-28*

Other than taking my credit card details the app is pretty much useless

### 1/5 — Absolutely Awful!

*2024-05-26*

Probably the worst App I have ever used. Signs all over the hotel telling you to use the App but it just doesn’t work. 404 on almost every page, idiotic error messages and is darn right awful user experience. Please invest some money into technology. This is just embarrassing!

### 1/5 — Thoroughly useless

*2024-05-06*

Useless experience, still listing Google+ as an option. Security concerns abound. Had to resort to speaking direct to venue, nullifying the need for this broken app.

### 1/5 — Awful app. Don’t waste your time

*2024-05-04*

Booked a stay at the Parkgate Hotel which was superb. Encouraged to download the app to manage the booking but it’s completely unusable.

Back buttons don’t work, it constantly takes you off the app to a web browser, nothing is intuitive, and the user experience is best not described.

Save yourself the hassle and phone up, the experience was so different and the staff were amazing.

### 1/5 — Poor App - that seems to serve no tea purpose

*2024-04-25*

This app from Celtic Manor falls short of expectations and leaves much to be desired. It's a frustrating experience. The implementation lacks finesse, evident in cumbersome features and encountering navigation glitches, such as being redirected to the home page while scrolling menus. Additionally, the check-in process is marred by a frustrating loop prompting users to download the app they already have. Overall, it's a disappointing offering that the Celtic Manor team should address promptly.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-02-22*

Tried using the app as encouraged but despite repeated attempts failed to let me use it as a digital key citing ‘unresolved’ issues with my phone. Contact us via web chat was even worse - after a lengthy wait finally suggesting I phone in instead! Wasted far more than the time it took to then queue at reception.

## Most praised reviews (3 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works like a treat

*2022-07-09*

Not sure what all the bad reviews are for. Worked perfectly for me. Digital key never failed. Reception always seems too busy but this app solves that problem.

### 4/5 — Works fine - almost

*2022-07-24*

App works fine although when checking in it rejected my credit cards and would only accept my debit card. Also on morning of checkout returned to our room after breakfast and the digital key had stopped working 2 hours before checkout so had to go to reception for a ‘normal’ key. Much prefer having a digital key though despite a few bugs as I always demagnetise the plastic keys!

### 2/5 — Pretty awful app

*2023-12-28*

This app IS, to be fair, a pretty terrible user experience! None of the back button work so often you get stuck and have to quite and close the whole app and start again. Think booking activities/meals etc is probably a better experience just through the website (if that is possible). This is really just a wrapper for their website but not implemented very well.

Digital key works ok, but is kind of slow.

Could be such a better and seamless experience to match the service and eating if the hotel.
