The point system also changed, while I had a free drink waiting once the points changed I no longer do. I wish I had a warning. I would’ve gotten my free drink weeks ago. Everything is very jumbled on the main screen you can’t tell which rewards you’re eligible for because everything is the same color. Not very happy. But then again I can go somewhere else and get coffee just the same. ### 1/5 — No coupon after creating account *2026-08-01, version 5.8.0* I tried to download the app and create a new account and there was no coupon. That email doesn’t arrive. I’ve checked spam, had support try a different email address on another provider. Still doesn’t work. Support’s response is switch to Gmail or Yahoo. I don’t use either of those. Really? I can’t get to my gift card balance on my digital gift card. ### 2/5 — Hardly a Point of an App If it don't work *2026-07-09, version 5.8.0* So I've been loving Coffee Bean for years, the app works sometimes. Starbucks works alll the time, but we are boycotting Starbucks. And Coffee Bean needs to seriously take a tip from Starbucks on how to quickly order fast. I'm always in a hurry and barely have time for a coffee break but I can't get the pre-order things done on the coffee bean app. They want us to add a card and preload money. Just let me order. Some stores the app doesn't even work. And it's not the baristas fault. The app currently provides no way to cancel an order that hasn’t started yet, even when it’s clearly a wrong‑store or mistaken order. That’s unacceptable for a modern digital product. Every serious ordering app should let customers cancel or modify a pending, unstarted order without needing to call the store or drive there. Please add an in‑app “Cancel” option for orders that are still pending, along with clear confirmation screens and much bigger, better, and brighter location warnings. If you change locations or change drink size you have to restart your order. The app was recently updated and it’s honestly terrible, I’m not a fan of how they’re now distributing points, and their customer service really isn’t the best, especially compared to Starbucks. Not that long ago it used to be $40 of spend to get a free drink and when it switched to $85 that was a big jump. But in all honesty, most people got it from a business perspective, cause $40 in spend was simply way too good and not sustainable. 425 points ($85 spend) was, in all fairness, still reasonable. $120 (600 points) now is just going too far, and sadly going to have an adverse effect on loyalty and retention. ### 1/5 — New update sucks *2026-08-11, version 5.9.0* This new app update completely sucks. Ordering online is such a new development in this day and age, find your way around it.
