### 3/5 — Absolutely phenomenal game but no longer playable.

*2024-07-28, version 3.2*

The game is wonderful and it was gifted to me by my brother but I was sadly never able to finish it and only recently have been able to. Unfortunately I had to start over and the current iOS won’t let me set my date to before the year 2000 which completely ruins my ability to move past the level 8… I’m actually rather upset about this and would love some way to finish the game for myself!! This is wonderful, thanks for reading my review!!!

### 4/5 — Stuck on level 20 on Sail

*2023-10-28, version 3.2*

I am stuck on level 20 of sail. The level were you have to unlock the lighthouse. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing works. IDK if the game has a glitch or what.

### 3/5 — Love it so far... yet I cant finish a certain puzzle

*2021-07-08, version 3.2*

LIES 14 requires the use of changing date and time, but our provider doesn't allow this setting to be changed. How can I finish the puzzle now??

### 3/5 — Mostly good... some bad

*2021-04-07, version 3.2*

I am liking the outside the box thinking. Have gotten through the first portion before getting to the SAIL levels, and for the most part have liked about 85% of all the puzzles. Some of the solutions were super clever. And I liked the one time I came across AR.

Two levels stood out as problems: the poloroid shaking... I must have shook my phone for a straight 5 minutes before it finished. (Plus you’re not supposed to shake poloroids anyway, it can distort the exposure... but that’s a pet peeve of mine 😅) Dunno if that’s great for the phone when a little shaking for a few seconds would have sufficed. Also the running level is unnecessary. I ended up finally getting it to trigger... again shaking my phone for an unnecessary amount of time. Running didn’t work. And yes I had the location on (even though you shouldn’t need that).

I was able to figure out the solutions mostly on my own without hints, a few hints were needed, and one puzzle (the blue boxes) seemed to perform inconsistently as to what the center box did and got too frustrating, so I had to Internet a solution to that. Not sure if it was the puzzle being broken or me just not getting it even after the clue told me how it was supposed to work.

Now I’m stuck at the SAIL level granting access via manual override where you tap the screen and its way too frustrating. The highest I got was 90 out of 150 then it sped up? No thanks. I’m not here to play a reaction/speed tap tap game, I’m here for puzzles.

I would love to play the rest of the game if there is a code to skip SAIL 2. Otherwise I’m not sure if this was worth the money I spent on it since I can’t finish it.

To the devs: you got some real gold here... perhaps in future endeavors try to stick closer to the puzzles and less on the physical/timed challenges. You had plenty of different creative solutions within that lane.

### 4/5 — Good game but unable to finish

*2021-03-08, version 3.2*

As someone who loves solving puzzles, cyphers and codesI have really been enjoying this game. The variety in puzzle types has given my brain cells a good workout. I would have given five stars but unfortunately I have dyscalculia so I am unable to progress any further than MAZE 14 due to the maths-like problem. Even if it is not maths, if it looks like maths my brain is unable to process the information and since there is no way to get past this, either with hints or a puzzle bypass, sadly I am going to have to delete the game. Just a shame I had to get so far in before discovering I couldn’t complete the game.

### 3/5 — I can’t get past 14

*2020-08-03, version 3.1*

Do to a work policy I can’t change the date on my phone and am unable to proceed in the game. But the first 13 levels were awesome!

### 2/5 — Level 12

*2020-08-03, version 3.1*

Was having fun with this one until level 12. Spoiler alert...if your cellular carrier does not allow you to adjust your date or time you are screwed and cant get passed level 12. Developer oversight since many cell carriers dont allow you to change the date or time. Wasted money on this one.

### 2/5 — Fun Puzzles, Not Very Accessable

*2020-08-02, version 3.1*

If you like puzzles, then this game may be for you. It has challenging but fair puzzles to solve, and I quite enjoy how it sometimes uses new information in previous puzzles to obtain new results.
However, like many people that I’ve seen online, I’ve bumped into the issue of LVL22 - Run (which I will be spoiling). The level requires the user to reach and maintain a speed of 3.5m/s for quite a while. While an interesting idea in concept, it ends up blocking off content for some users.

If you are trying to quarantine at home, don’t have easy access to a car or public transport, in a sketchy area, have no access to Cellular Service (as the speed is determined by distance traveled and not velocity of phone), or are playing at night and really don’t want to go for an impromptu 1 AM jog, well you’re boned. I personally live 20 min away from an area with working cell service, so you can understand why I’m a bit miffed.

From reading other reviews, it seems like the developers are aware that players are running into this issue, but have not implemented any way to bypass this one level other than emailing them for the dev code that unlocks all the levels. If they implemented some sort of work around (ex placing a button/code in the hint screen of LVL22 that let you skip that one bit) that would raise my score to 4 or 5, but as is I can only give a 2 for giving me 21 of a promised +78 levels.

### 3/5 — Interesting concept, ok execution

*2020-07-26, version 3.1*

Game is a bit rough around the edges which breaks the immersion. For example one stage you need to literally shake the phone. It took about 2 minutes of dangerously fast shaking to pass. Kind of weird trying to max out the accelerometer.

### 5/5 — Premium Puzzler

*2020-04-29, version 3.1*

Someone described this as a mashup of The Guides, Blackbox, and Device 6 - which is a pretty apt description. Overall, the puzzles are easier than The Guides, and there isn’t the relentless emphasis on code-breaking from that game. It uses the motion sensor and device settings like Blackbox, but takes it to another level of engagement. It shares some puzzle elements with Device 6 and much of the paranoia as well.

I’m impressed with how sophisticated but ultimately intuitive the puzzles are. It’s not a flawless experience however; sometimes it crashes, the soundtrack shuts off, and the controls and animation can slow down or freeze up. A reboot fixes it every time. It’s an ambitious game, and for that reason, I’m willing to overlook some of the bugs.

### 5/5 — I can’t run while I am social distancing! :)

*2020-04-03, version 3.1*

But what an amazing game.

### 5/5 — Closest To Simulating Escape Room Experience

*2020-03-23, version 3.1*

Really pleasantly surprised by this fun and inventive experience. I love escape rooms (and escape room board games) but escape room iPhone games don’t actually capture that experience at all and they’re usually really low quality. This game captures the escape room experience with plenty of inventive little puzzles that give you an aha moment and work in a way you might not anticipate—all while being uniquely suited to mobile.

I would love to see more games like this on the App Store that prove that creativity and imagination can more than make up for what I imagine is a limited budget and resources

### 5/5 — Great puzzle game

*2020-02-26, version 3*

The best puzzle game (mobile at least) I ever played. It was full of great moments whenever I found out what to do and now, with the update, more than ever! Really recommend everyone to try it out!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Dishonest about data collection

*2026-04-30, version 3.2.1*

Unable to play because they lied about what data it needs to play. This is an unsafe game that claims no data is collected.

### 1/5 — Too invasive

*2020-08-01, version 3.1*

Not only did I find the puzzles to be ridiculously difficult, but the app is too invasive on your phone.

### 1/5 — Impossibly difficult

*2020-08-01, version 3.1*

I like challenging puzzles, but this was ridiculous! Regret the purchase

### 1/5 — Not Registered in the Système !!

*2020-07-29, version 3.1*

Markusse is pseudo

### 1/5 — asking for my location??

*2020-07-26, version 3.1*

this app looked amazing and really fun, but i was very disappointed to see that right when i opened the app that i immediately had to give access to my location...wasn’t pleased with that given that i had just paid money for this app.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2020-07-24, version 3.1*

Level 25 of the first section broke. When I try to swipe right it either crashes or the way to change the letters is invisible. This is on IOS 13

### 1/5 — Only for the able-bodied

*2020-06-30, version 3.1*

There’s a level in the first section that requires fast movement. There’s probably a number of things people could do to solve it, but none of them can be done if you can’t go move around quickly. If you can’t drive or run or ride a bike or whatever, you’re not going to advance through the level; there’s NO way to skip it or perform an alternate solution.

Which is kind of a real problem for anyone who bought the game hoping for a diversion from their covid sickbed, so just be aware that this limitation exists in the game and is a blocker. I’ll change my review to five stars if they fix it, because otherwise it’s quite clever, but this assumption that everyone can follow that instruction is a problem.

### 1/5 — There's no way in hell I'm giving you location access

*2020-01-24, version 2.52*

Literally a wasted purchase. Cannot even begin the program.

### 1/5 — Seriously?

*2019-05-04, version 2.31*

I’m running as fast as I possibly can, I’m out of breath and the bar wasn’t even anywhere near half way full, how am I supposed to play now, I’d like a refund

### 1/5 — Nope.

*2019-04-15, version 2.3*

I have zero (0) positives to convey when it comes to this app.
I realize(d) that I hardly represent ‘everyone’ or ‘anyone’ so thinking outside ‘my’ box, I asked four friends (who allowed me to say this here) who are savants in their own right and they recommend I extend my questionnaire or research in order to gauge a broader spectrum.

So, I did. I asked: seven highly-educated professors at prestigious colleges around the world, 24 children, 56 self-proclaimed gaming addicts and gamers of all types, 13 grandparents, 17 parents, 36 math, English, musical, artistic, logistical and behavior recognition genius’ and even a few war-hardened veterans (who barely gave me permission to mention them), five game developers for multiple platforms, seven board game creators and their managing staff and 16 pre-school and kindergarten teachers who work with highly intelligent, overly energetic, incredibly intelligent kids and their code creating parents.
(The kid’s parents are the coders, not necessarily the educators. Although three of them came from similar family backgrounds.)
I even left the app music on in the background to see what my dogs would do. They whined, pawed the doors, began howling .... and I felt like the most awful person in existence.

ALL of the takeaway info, statements and general feelings of those queried was: “This game just isn’t fun. Aren’t games supposed to be fun?”
And: “Bored.”
And: “I played this for a half hour one day then an hour another day, just to give my best feedback and I felt like all the joy had gone out of me.”
And: “I don’t get it.”
And: “This is a mean unhappy app.”

So,
Take it as you will. I did my due diligence and didn’t allow my own perspective to flaw my review.

Thank you so much to those who struggled through, gave their time, laughed at and got frustrated with me and most of all, are still talking to me.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — One of the best mobile games

*2024-08-21, version 3.2*

This is one of the most innovative puzzle games I’ve ever played. I had a technical issue, and the developer released a new version to fix my issue within a day, and this was several years after release.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2023-11-20, version 3.2*

I loved this game. The mechanics are really fun and creative. Keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — altitude

*2023-05-31, version 3.2*

about the level where you have to go up a few floors, I don’t have the means to do so. Is there any alternative way to beat this level?

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2021-08-12, version 3.2*

One word Wow!!

### 5/5 — Perfect but i was stuck and needed to change devices

*2021-04-18, version 3.2*

I love the game but Lies.14 had got me stuck on my phone. Specifically the time change doesn’t work on my phone so I had to use my brother’s phone. Please make it so I don’t have to go into settings to change the time.

### 5/5 — Maze

*2021-02-28, version 3.2*

Maze is awesome! A lot harder and engaging with the phone settings. Bet chapter yet. Got very stumped on 15. Completely guessed the answer. Actually upset cause I didn’t figure it out how to get it. Always avoid App unwrapper but apparently they haven’t even figured it out yet. This app is definitely worth the money. Had it for awhile

### 5/5 — Great game

*2020-11-06, version 3.1*

Almost finished this whole game in 2 days. Ithe puzzles get your mind working. I am stuck on maze 25’s third out. But once I get that the games done yay!!! It did crash a lot during my first M maze which would only crash right when I was finished so I’d have to restart the whole level again which sucked. Second maze was easy. 3 idk yet

### 5/5 — Cleverest game I’ve played on my phone

*2020-09-15, version 3.1*

The puzzles are brilliant. The audacity of some of them in the way it uses your device is something else. A unique delight. If you love puzzles and want to pretend you’re a clever spy then you need this.

PS when I had an issue the developer responded within the hour

### 5/5 — I like it but

*2020-07-27, version 3.1*

So I love the game but on sail 25 it won’t work I have done everything I needed to do and I even looked up a tutorial on it and it still won’t work I got the first blue thing to show up but after that it won’t work

### 5/5 — Top tier puzzle game

*2020-07-27, version 3.1*

This is legitimately one of the best puzzle games I have ever played and I’ve been downloading puzzle games on the App Store for 10 years. It’s not like the other puzzle games. It’s really immersive and uses every bit of your phone. It really shows how far puzzle games can be pushed and what kind of mechanics they use. There is a puzzle that literally use your flashlights. It baffled me I didn’t know what was happening. It doesn’t rely on 3D looking objects and spinning crap around. It is simple yet so complicated. Most satisfying game, and if you’re reading this pre order CIRCULOUS(made by the same person that made this game) I can not recommend this game enough especially if you’re a puzzle nut like I am
