## What is The Conversation Coach?

Every advisor knows listening builds trust. Almost no one teaches how.

We have all watched it happen. A continuing education seminar on active listening. A role-play exercise with a partner across the table. A facilitator asking everyone to nod thoughtfully and paraphrase what they heard. Everyone leaves with the right vocabulary and almost none of the skill.

Listening is not learned by being told to listen. It is learned by practicing the questions that make listening possible in the first place.

Why it works:

The hardest part of asking better questions about money is not technique. It is comfort. Most professionals have never sat with these questions themselves, which is why they hesitate to ask them of clients and donors. The app flips that. You start by answering the questions yourself, in a safe and structured format, alongside others doing the same. By the time you carry the practice into a real meeting, the questions feel familiar in your own mouth, not foreign.

The verb prompts are where the skill develops. Each turn, you randomize verbs that prompt how you ask your next question. You cannot fall back on the questions you always ask. Your brain has to work, and the questions that emerge are better than the ones you would have asked on autopilot. You learn what your default patterns are, and you learn how to break them.

Timed play keeps the practice moving. Open play lets a conversation go as deep as it wants to go. Together they teach you when to press and when to let silence do the work.

The three modes
1.) Discover is for groups of two to six. You take turns answering and asking, with the app rotating fairly so every voice is heard. Use it with your team, with peers, with a family at the table, or with a small group of clients or donors who are ready for a different kind of conversation.
2.) Leader is for the professional preparing for a real meeting. Map out the questions you want to ask in advance, along with the verbs you might use to push past surface answers. Carry the plan into the room. Use Leader mode discreetly during the conversation as a quiet reference, or use it beforehand to rehearse on your own.
3.) Live Session lets you connect with anyone, anywhere, by sharing a code. A donor across the country. A client between cities. A family member in another state. The conversation does not require the room.
