You’d think with the reputation Cowfish has you wouldn’t offer such a distasteful experience. It’s like serving crap at your restaurant. ### 1/5 — Waitlist doesn’t work. *2020-01-01, version 2.2.1* The app has not been working for me. The Waitlist button and Order online button will not move forward to the next page when it is clicked on. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2019-12-13, version 2.2.0* I click to join the waitlist, and it says ‘required input data missing’. I have added comments INT he special request area and included the number in the my group. The next time they didn’t have us on the board even though the app showed us. This last time it says info error. This happened even after removing and reinstalling. You guys are failing miserably with this one. ### 1/5 — Useless bogus app *2019-04-07, version 2.1.6* We joined the waitlist when we were within 3 miles, and immediately received a text saying we were in. I reserved a booth. The app showed us that there were two parties ahead of us, and as we neared the restaurant, it showed zero, so we were next—woohoo! When we walked in, the hostess said there were no booths available, but we could sit on the patio. I said I had reserved a booth and that we were next. She said she texted me 18 minutes ago and I had ten minutes to respond. The text said nothing about responding and the app kept me in the waitlist. The staff obviously pays no attention whatsoever to the app, so it was pointless—don’t waste your time. ### 1/5 — Terrible app that doesn’t work *2018-11-23, version 2.1.4* It is supposed to let you join a waitlist within 3 miles and it doesn’t even work. Once I got into the restaurant I double checked with the hostess and she said I wasn’t in the system. Also, it is close to impossible to gauge how long your wait will be. You can only base this off the size of the fish. It would be great if it showed multiple tanks with different party sizes and a number next to your fish to tell how many patties are ahead of you. Lastly, the app is very dated and looks like it was built in 2010. ### 1/5 — Extremely SMALL app check-in window *2018-01-13, version 2.0.8* We live an hour outside of Charlotte, NC. The app makes you check inside this insanely tiny “bubble” to check in. Ridiculous. The app half way works and half way does not. You cannot answer the Birthday and Anniversary questions as it will not allow you to save! Seriously I have to drive within 15 minutes to get on a 1 to 1 1/2 hour wait list!!!! I could be getting a table now because I just drove a freaking hour. Also specific to the Charlotte,NC location the Surfer Dude that answered the phone was no help and hung up on me. I am a YELP Elite so let’s see how the food is because I am will write a review of that too!!! ### 1/5 — Useless *2018-01-06, version 2.0.8* Completely useless for trying to plan a night out to dinner. Listed the wait time as 0-20 minutes, and when we got to the restaurant, they told us an hour and a half. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work at all *2023-08-05* Just like the other reviews. Crashes, doesn’t let you join the waitlist. In 30 min they texted saying there were now 10 people ahead of us so please head to the booth. As we were headed there it said 5 people in front of us please see hostess. Within 5 minutes we were at the hostess stand and she said it would be at least 30 more minutes. WHAT???? She was also extremely rude. When I asked why I was told 15-30 minutes and told to head to the stand she said the app must have been glitching. Finally it said we were the next table… I then watched 3 parties get seated in front of us. To top it off it was my daughters birthday. My 80 year old parents were there waiting as well. From the time I joined the wait list (and was told 15-30) to the time I was seated it was an hour and 10 minutes. Totally unacceptable. Have reservations like everywhere else or have a better solution than this app. ### 1/5 — Keeps crashing *2021-12-26, version 2.2.6* Yea Noh downloaded for the waitlist that does not even work. App keeps crashing. ### 1/5 — This app shouldn’t even exist. *2021-02-14, version 2.2.6* The fact that you can’t even speak to a person in order to make a reservation in itself is aggravating. Therefore you HAVE to download the app. Upon downloading, you can’t make a reservation unless they can access your data, making you give them your location data. Once agreeing to all of that, there is in fact no way to actually make a reservation; only suggests you’re on a waiting list, yet gives no confirmation. But it counts down people in front of you and they are not in minutes. Nowhere on the app does it say that. This developer does not label things. Go somewhere else.When we arrived the app said 38. We drove over from Pullem Park and there were five people ahead of us on the wiring list. By the time we got here, we were seated almost right away. This was really appreciated as we had a hungry 22 month old with us. ### 5/5 — Very useful! *2019-09-28, version 2.1.6* So i visited the restaurant on a busy Friday evening. I signed in using the app when I was 10 miles away from the location, as the app determined. When I arrived, our name was already on the waitlist and we were seated within 20 minutes. If I had not made use of the app, I may have waited over an hour to be seated. It's a must if you are in the Charlotte, NC area. The food is unbelievable and matches their technology that they have incorporated. Atmosphere is awesome, great place to catch a local celebrity. Michael Jordan, Cam Newton, Steve Smith....New Cowfish opening soon in the Raleigh, NC area! ### 4/5 — Improvements *2019-05-05, version 2.1.6* I guess they've made some changes since these negative reviews were written. The radius is ten miles now. Once you're ten miles or closer to the restaurant, you can be on the list. I checked with the hostess one we got there, and we were definitely on the list. The app does show you how many parties are in front of you, but the number doesn't update unless you close out of the app. All in all, it saved us about fifteen minutes, so it was useful. ### 2/5 — Waitlist doesn’t work on app *2017-11-27, version 2.0.3* Waitlist doesn’t work on app ### 2/5 — App needs some work *2015-02-17, version 1.0.29* It's nice to be able to see the menu, but I already eat there more than twice per month. The reservation option is poor. It requires you to be within 1/2 mile of restaurant. It should at least extend to 5 miles. Makes it fairly worthless, in my opinion. ### 2/5 — Cute, but disappointing *2013-12-12, version 1.0.27* I absolutely love this restaurant, and I am a regular patron, but...the increasing wait times (routinely an hour) are becoming tedious. When I heard there was an app with a wait list entry feature, I thought, "Great! A solution!" I downloaded the app and was initially impressed - it is very cute & cleverly designed. However, it completely failed on the task that it was supposed to achieve: wait list entry. It will not allow you to enter the wait list until you are within 1/2 mile of the restaurant! This is very useful to those who live within walking distance, but does nothing for those of us who make a special trip from other areas in the city. When I chose to travel across town for a favorite meal, I don't want to stand around for an hour or more after that drive, waiting for a table. The whole point of "call ahead" is to reduce that wait time significantly (or eliminate it altogether).
