The Crossword and Anagram Solver helps you when you get stuck on a crossword:

• Enter the letters you already know, and the blank squares you don't, and let the app do the rest

• Solve anagrams

• Shuffle anagram letters manually, to give you a hint without handing you the answer immediately 

• Look up words in the thesaurus, and get lists of synonyms

• Get definitions of words (built-in, or using DuckDuckGo's online dictionary)

Basic crossword solving is always free. The advanced features require a paid upgrade (after a free trial to try them out).

I use this a lot for cryptic crosswords and it’s really improved my solving skills. A useful additional feature would be to enable the use of a blank letter for anagrams, to help with Scrabble.

A minor "behind-the-scenes" update that helps me work out what's going wrong if you have problems accessing a paid subscription.

### 4.6 — 2025-01-19

An update behind the scenes, upgrading the subscription purchasing system to support changes Apple have made to the App Store.

I hope all works ok, but if you have any problems with your subscription, please let me know using the "Report a problem" button and I'll try to get it fixed as soon as I can!

I've fixed a problem that caused the app to be very slow for a few users.

I've also improved the diagnostic information available if you need to report a problem, to help me fix future issues more quickly.

Make sure the letters in the Anagram Shuffler don't disappear behind the notch / Dynamic Island on iPhones in landscape orientation.

Fixed a problem that stopped version 4.3 running on iOS 12 and iOS 13.

A slight change if you're using the free version (which shows adverts from Google): Google will now ask for consent to show personalised adverts.  You should only be asked once.

Sorry about the annoying pop-ups - I hate them as much as anyone, but sadly I have to show them.

(Of course if you've subscribed to the upgraded version of the app then you won't see any adverts or annoying pop-ups.)

I've also made a few small fixes, including allowing you to report a problem by email if you're using a mail app other than the default Apple Mail app.
