## What is The Cut?

The Cut runs your golf group's games the way you actually play them.
Start a round in under a minute and invite anyone — players always join free.

Pick the game, type the names, tee off. Skins, Scotch, Nassau, Wolf, Best Ball,
Scramble, Stableford, Match Play — every side game scored live, strokes handled
for you, no arguing in the parking lot about who owed what.

SET UP IN UNDER A MINUTE
Start a game from the first tee. Look up any golfer's handicap index by name and
state, and it fills itself in. Your home course loads automatically. Add the crew
once and they're saved for next time.

SCORING THAT KEEPS ITSELF
Big tap targets, one hole at a time, built for a phone in a cart. Everyone's
scores sync live, so the leaderboard updates while you're still walking to the
next tee. Track putts and chips if you want the deeper stats.

GPS YARDAGES + YOUR CADDIE
Satellite view of the hole, rotated tee-to-green, with front, center, and back
numbers. Drop a pin to plan a layup. Mark your drive and walk to it to see
exactly how far you hit it. Save your club distances once and The Cut tells you
what to hit on every shot.

GAME WITHIN THE GAME
The organizer posts props — "2 or more birdies today?", head-to-head matchups —
and everyone takes a side for points. Live pick counts, a running standings
board, and alerts that fire to the whole field when the lead changes or somebody
makes a mess of a par 3. Points only, always. Nothing here is worth money.

TOURNAMENTS AND TRIPS
Run a full club tournament with teams, flights, a tee sheet, and a live board.
Or build a multi-day buddies trip — a different course every morning, a
different format every round, one cumulative leaderboard all week. Ryder Cup
mode included, with a real draft night: captains, a coin flip, and snake picks.

PLAY AGAINST YOURSELF
Solo rounds put you head-to-head with your own best round at that course —
stroke or match play, this year or all time.

GAME IMPROVEMENT
Scoring average, putts per round, one-putts and three-putts, chips, and how you
score by course length. The coach reads your numbers and tells you where the
strokes are actually going.

PLAYERS ALWAYS JOIN FREE
Only the organizer running the event needs Member. Everyone you invite scores,
watches the board and keeps their own stats without paying a thing — ever.
Member unlocks full tournaments, multi-day trips and GPS, and every new account
gets a 14-day trial to try all of it.

The Cut Member is $99.99 per year. It renews automatically through your Apple
Account unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or
cancel in iOS Settings → Subscriptions.

The Cut keeps score in points. It never handles money, never processes a wager,
and never takes a cut of anything.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-09-29

Build any event you can describe — and a big scoring fix.

CUSTOM TOURNAMENTS AND TRIPS
Describe the event out loud and it builds itself: six-man teams with
three pairs inside, a different format for each, flights, a horse race
off the back of it. Or hand it last year's Word document or an Excel
roster and it reads the event straight out of the file. Tap through it
block by block instead if you'd rather.

FIXED — YOUR SCORES STAY PUT
In a big field, a card being filled in could lose typed-but-unsaved
scores when somebody else in the event saved a hole. It doesn't any
more. If you typed it, it stays.

ALSO FIXED
- Leaderboards show score to par everywhere, alongside the total
- The card stops jumping you forward when you go back to fix a hole
- Player initials on the scorecard are legible again
- Side games built for pairs no longer try to include the whole field

YOUR EVENT, ON THE WEB
Give a tournament its own web address to text the field — the format,
the day's schedule, and a sign-up form anyone can open without the app.
Private until you decide otherwise.

THE CALCUTTA, LIVE
Owners, teams and the running order stay on screen through the round
instead of living on one page you have to go and find.

Simpler navigation throughout, and a new "How to run it" guide in
the menu.

EVENT PAGES AND ENTRY FEES (Guidelines 3.1.1, 3.1.3)

New in 1.4: an organizer can give their tournament a public web page —
format, schedule, who's playing, and a sign-up form. If the event
charges an entry fee for the real-world golf (green fees, lunch,
prizes), the organizer types the amount and how to pay them, for
example "Venmo @name" or "cash at the first tee", and the page
displays that text.

The Cut does not process, hold or transfer any of it. There is no
payment rail, no wallet and no cash-out. This is an organizer telling
their own golfers how to pay for a real-world event — a service
delivered outside the app, not digital content. There is deliberately
no numeric fee field anywhere in the schema: the amount is free text,
and nothing in the app can total it.

Unrelated to, and not connected with, the points-and-units side games
described above.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-19

TOURNAMENTS THE WAY YOUR GROUP ACTUALLY RUNS THEM

Build an event with teams inside teams — a six-man team made of three two-man
pairs, each pair playing its own format, all adding up to one team score. Over
one day or five. Finish it with a horse race if you like. Tap through the
builder, or just say out loud what you're playing and let it fill the form in.

TWO GAMES OFF ONE CARD — properly, this time

Picking a second game used to quietly drop it. Now Skins runs alongside
anything with a board of its own, Best Ball gives you a second leaderboard off
the same four scores, and every game you pick gets its own card at setup with
its own stakes and its own house rules.

SCOTCH, YOUR WAY

5-point, 6-point and 10-point are in the picker. Or set every point yourself,
and the app works out what your game is worth and calls it by name.

FIXED

- A press could get stuck after a save mid-round, with no way to add one or
take one back. Reopen the hole and the press lands where you're standing.
- Undo press takes back the press you can see, not one from three holes ago.
- Course and golfers are one screen at setup now, instead of two.
- The Home and Games screens scroll all the way to the bottom.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-10

The Cut now scores the games you actually play.

NINETEEN GAMES. Scotch with presses, rolls and re-rolls. Wolf, Banker,
Hammer, Vegas, High-Low, 9-Point, Quota, Nassau, Bingo Bango Bongo,
Rabbit, Snake and more — running off the same card as your round, up to
three at once.

THE RULE BOOK. Every game, written from the code that settles it: what it
pays, what doubles it, and the things that catch people out. Open it from
any game, or read it before you tee off.

APPLE WATCH. The hole, your score, who gets a shot, and the standing — on
your wrist.

SCORE FROM THE LOCK SCREEN. A Live Activity carries the hole, the tally
and the calls. Tap a number to file a score without unlocking.

THE BROADCAST. Post from the round to your crew, a private group, or
publicly. Photos, clips and the running commentary.

FOLLOW LIVE. Your crew can watch any hole as it's scored — every point,
every prox, every press, itemised.

SAY THE SCORES. Speak the hole and The Cut writes the card.

MEMBER SEASON PASS. One price, your whole season.
