Now most of the stories are about LSU and state issues. The sports is particularly focused on LSU. Isn’t this supposed to be a LOCAL publication, for the people of Acadiana? The only reason I am not giving our local newspaper 5 stars is because of the obituaries! I was born and raised here and I like to keep up with who has died! The obituary section is not easy to read and constantly throws me back to the main page. This is probably my error but it happens too easily. The old view of the pages was much better. please go back to it. ### 4/5 — Reasonably Good local news source *2020-04-11, version 5.24.3* For a chain paper they do a good job on local news. Reporting could be a bit more complete. The stories are on the short side and lack detail. That’s true of most local papers these days. ### 2/5 — Unfriendly and incomplete *2019-02-04, version 5.15.2* Can’t complete basic functions like cancelling a subscription or cancelling a credit card. ### 4/5 — Solid On the Fly app! *2017-06-02, version 4.12.1* As a subscriber to the paper version, I find this's is ad great source for breaking news. Problem opening them sometime and if you view an obituary, you have to back to the beginning. Easy access to the local news as it is printed and before the paper arrives. See someone else's long review from Nov 9 last year as to why I couldn't give five stars. (In my own words, I prefer to be able to see even more details that come with the print edition.) ### 4/5 — Good, but a few things would make it better *2016-11-10, version 4.1.1* Overall, it's a good, user-friendly app. I love that almost all of the articles found in the paper can be read online the evening before. I also like how each category is broken up into sub-categories for easy browsing. However, there are some things found in the paper that aren't found on the app. For example, the box scores with stat breakdowns for high school sports that I love to read in the paper are not available on the app. I would really like to see those things offered on the app as a "clickable" article or maybe an e-edition within the app that's more user-friendly than the one through the website, which doesn't seem to work well on my mobile device. Overall, thumbs up for The Advertiser's app. ### 2/5 — Not all sections available *2016-10-01, version 4.5.0* Some of the sections are not available such as obituaries and other sections such as Weddings & Engagements have not been updated in months. Other articles are months old. You do have a University from Lafayette….UL write about them! How about your local high school teams you have very poor coverage then when you do cover them you charge extra! It has really taken a nose dive in the last few years. The dearth of news in the Sunday paper is shameful at the price being charged. The daily editorial section is downright embarrassing.... more akin to a small town newspaper. It 's like some out of towers have hijacked our city's paper and could care less about giving us quality coverage.
