### 5/5 — Great

*2013-03-10, version 1.3*

Love this

### 5/5 — Word!

*2012-06-27, version 1.2.1*

I've really enjoyed this app. Not planning on taking the SAT, but enjoy testing myself on words I know, words I've forgotten, and words I never knew. I've gotten my whole family into it too. It has become a game to use the "word of the day" throughout the day in appropriate contexts.... Though I would've preferred someone being a little less splenetic yesterday (ahem). Great app!
Only one recommendation: occasional grammar mistakes should be corrected. These errors are few & far between and hardly glaring (they reflect general usage), but because this is an SAT app, every effort should made to make sure the grammar is impeccable. For example, the possessive adjective for a singular pronoun is his or her, not their. Contrary to fact conditionals should use the proper verbal mood in English (if it were raining, I would open my umbrella.)
It's a great app, all in all, and I look forward to my daily worrrrrrrrrrd!

### 5/5 — An Incredible App

*2012-06-18, version 1.2.1*

Another great study tool by The Learning Edge. I tried using dozens of sets on quizlet and studyblue but those sets pale in comparison to TDW. The definitions and sentences prepared by The Learning Edge are both lucid and intelligent. The games provide a great means for learning new vocabulary and allow for seamless translation into notecards. There really is nothing wrong with the app. A must buy for anyone shooting for a 2400. Well worth the two bucks.

### 5/5 — Very helpful way to learn

*2012-06-14*

This app is a great way to learn all the SAT words you can without the old fashion books and note cards that take forever to go through and/or make. I look forward to the morning updates I get on my phone every day showing me the new word! It is definitely a fantastic study tool and i highly recommend for anyone taking SATs or ACTs

### 5/5 — Great study tool

### 5/5 — incredible

*2012-05-28, version 1.2*

This app is incredible. I have always ted studying SAT vocabulary, but the Daily Word has made it so much less painless and helped me answer almost all of the vocabulary-based questions correctly on the critical reading section.

### 5/5 — awesome!

*2012-05-27, version 1.2*

this app is an easy way to learn your SAT words without being overwhelmed! It's as easy as getting 1 SAT would per day, reading what it means, saving it to your notecards, and reviewing it only a couple of times before you actually take the test. So easy and soooo helpful!!

### 5/5 — Great for my son, fun for me

*2012-05-27, version 1.2*

I originally bought this app for my son to prepare for the SATs. The word choice and the accompanying questions seem quite on-target. The biggest surprise is how much I enjoy seeing what the daily word is while on my daily commute. It's good to know that I'd actually do quite well on the SATs today - 35 years after taking them myself!

### 5/5 — Word!

*2012-05-17, version 1.1.1*

I love this app, and my kids love the "word" alert sound. Even though they are just nine and eleven, they can't wait to learn the word of the day! Fun and educational.

Worked for 2 days, seriously. Defeats the point of word of the day.

### 1/5 — Needs update

*2017-10-08, version 2.1*

Ok app but the definitions miss letters from some of the words. Not worth spending a dollar

### 1/5 — Broken

*2015-01-24, version 2.0*

Waste of $0.99. Got one daily word, paid to make note cards, and now app won't even open.

### 1/5 — Crashes when I try to use certain features

*2015-01-11, version 1.3*

When I try to make a note on a new word so I'll have a list of new words the app crashes before I can save the note. Also sometimes only the word shows and not the definition

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent App!

*2023-03-29, version 19*

I love this app! I not only use it as a fun challenge for myself, but also with my son as a way to prep for standardized tests. I’m a teacher and I have had a blast using it with my students for a quick and fun morning activity. The app is easy to use, and I really enjoy the activities and the variety of words.

### 5/5 — Making vocabulary fun

*2023-03-24, version 19*

Great app for building vocab. My high schooler and I love it. The people at The Learning Edge know what they’re doing!

### 5/5 — Helpful, valuable and fun

*2023-03-18, version 18*

Vocabulary is important in this house. We wanted to have a fun way for the kids to learn more words. Dozens of new words learned, laughter at the goofy sentences and jokes, and a fun way to learn in just a few minutes a day. Well worth the $ for anyone who wants to learn more words.

### 5/5 — Words that can actually be used in real life!

*2018-07-25, version 2.1*

As opposed to many most words of the day on dictionary apps, TheDailyWord always provides words that you've probably A) heard or read at least once in your life, B) could use in an essay, a tweet, or conversation, or C) makes your repertoire of vocabulary larger. This is because the words are vernacular enough and relevant; that is to say, it isn't just some random word or piece of jargon that has no use in your day to day vocabulary. This app has a place in your day to day vocabulary for home, work and school.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2015-02-15, version 2.1*

Cool SAT app.

### 5/5 — 1 Apps

*2013-05-03, version 1.3*

#1 Apps

### 5/5 — Love it! I use it Daily.

*2013-04-07, version 1.3*

All around great. However, my only suggestion: Please improve the scrolling feature when looking up words from the LONG word list. My thumb is exhausted by the time I scroll past "Haggard". Additionally, can you update the word list so that it's clear what words are already selected or even ADD a filter to only display the non selected words. I'd pay much more for this app if it included that!
