There are guides and exercises for levels from beginner to advance. This will get you what you need to know to actually become fluent in English. I didn't even know some of the advanced stuff. It's useful for language learners who are looking for a way to test the accuracy of their grammar acquisition. There are some notes offered for some of the units but you can't depend on these to actually teach you what you need to work on for the grammar tests. Thank youuu ### 4/5 — English Learning Lounge *2014-05-31, version 2.0* This app has a self-assessement test that models real English usage and requires multiple word answers and use of multiple parts of speech. This is a more accurate assessment of skill than one that only focuses on verbs or prepositions in a test. I like the Spellraiser game and found myself trying to beat my own time. I think moving the “next” button closer to where the answer is entered in the assessment would make it a little easier to use. Also, in the Spellraiser game I saw one “wrong” answer that is actually a correct English word that isn’t used often (wont). Other than that it’s great! ### 4/5 — The English Learning Lounge - something for everyone *2014-04-16* It is easy to see that a lot of thought has gone into developing this App and there is something for almost everyone. Good to see a language learning App that gives practice and tests levels from Beginners through to Advanced and particularly focuses on structures that are often problematic for the level. But this App goes beyond the usual gap fill scenario. Here activities range from gap fills, to multiple choice, reordering and grammar based quizzes but also give learners opportunities to practice listening, reading and pronunciation. The App begins by testing the learners level and language ability then places the learner at the adequate level once the questionnaire is completed. Placed at the required level, the learner is able to progress through a range of activities which test and reinforce structures. Learners are able to access different activities at the level by purchasing them at a minimal cost. The App also includes some fun and useful activities such as spelling tests (often a concern for students) and word recognition. Students are also able to monitor their own progress through the "statistics" section of the App which helps them also monitor how much of the level has been completed. On a personal note, it was also good to see activities which relate to FCE and CPE for language proficiency, and the inclusion of a range of activities which tried to extend and test students and different skills. ### 4/5 — English Learning Lounge rating *2014-04-13, version 2.0* This app is easy to use and contains many elements of English language learning from beginner to advanced. It has reading as well as listening components - both very important for learners. I am in Canada and the English seems more British than American. Not sure if there’s an American English app in the works?
