It keeps me in touch with the world and my area. Just wish the news was current, not yesterday’s news. ### 5/5 — The Enquirer App *2021-05-16* Being able to read the paper anywhere, anytime, look back on older articles, print interesting articles or send then to others via email is good too. ### 5/5 — Getting great news coverage online *2020-12-19* My husband and I look forward to each day of The Enquirer. It allows us to read the articles at the same time whenever we want. We have had pertinent information during the pandemic as well as local news in Cincinnati. We can print out the articles and stay very safe due to updated information found about our area......it is a great way to connect with events, sports, and virtual opportunities... ### 5/5 — Comics and Crosswords *2020-12-13, version 3.2.43* Love the app. Past bugs seem to be worked out except for one. I like to print the crossword puzzles from my iPad. Click on it. It turns pink. Print. Works great on the two puzzles in the Enquirer, but one in the USA supplement is unpredictable. Some days it’s ok. Other days the “PUZZLES” banner across the top turns pink along with puzzle itself and that forces the puzzle smaller in the upper left corner. Annoying, but I can just print tiny letters. Only when I go to the PC and download the page pdf and edit can I print the puzzle full screen. The fix for this should not be hard. Just have the person who prepares the highlighting who does it right train the others who do not. ### 5/5 — Works well *2020-11-27* With this app, the newspaper always arrives on time and intact, and there’s no need to brave the elements to fetch it. Even though I occasionally print out crossword and sudoku puzzles when I want to work them, I believe getting the Enquirer on line is better for the environment. (The only downside: I can’t figure out how to print the huge Thanksgiving crossword.) ### 5/5 — Fix log in! *2020-10-25* I like it overall, better than the website version and paper. I hate having to keep entering my log in - this is my biggest issue. Every few days I need to re-type my log in ID and password. I wish it supported Share, print, and even better, save page as pdf. For example, to save the Olympic schedule on my iPad. Loading time seems to have gotten better. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 4/5 — Pluses and Minuses: Add up to 4 1/2 stars *2023-07-27* The app has been reliable and easy to use with several features that I find helpful: 1) the search feature, 2) access to many cities’ local daily news, 3) the ease of “snipping” a news item and saving to my files, or sharing it with others, and, most importantly, 4) not having to wait for the newspaper to be delivered on the front lawn, or wait for some other household member to finish a section before I can dive in. One disappointment with the app was that we could not use it to access the newspaper while visiting in Iceland. The same was true of Norway. Five stars if this weakness can be mended. —ADM ### 4/5 — NEW at READING ON LINE *2022-02-21* Explaining on how move around as you read the paper would be helpful. I guess you are suppose to just play with it until you get it right. It’s certainly better, to read the paper on line than wait, wait and wait for the paper to arrive. And I don’t have to wait for it to dry. One more thing, I can make the print larger, clearer, Love it…..Glad I FINALLY TRIED IT. Kathy ### 4/5 — Good app with a few quirks *2021-06-08, version 3.3.07* As a longtime reader of the print edition of the Enquirer before it tripled in price a few years ago, I found this app to be a very easy transition. I read it on an iPad, typically with the page width fitted to the screen width, without the larger font inset window on the right. My biggest complaint is that it’s too easy to accidentally flip it back to the narrower, full page height display, simply by touching the right side of the screen in the wrong way. I’m forever having to re-fit the page to my screen. I’ve also found the page number links to the next page of a multi-page story to be buggy, owing in part to the paper’s practice of using both single and double letter section designations. For example, the same issue may contain a section A and another section AA, and the link to page A4 will take the reader to page AA4. That’s pretty minor, and probably has more to do with the daily content editing than the basic design of the app. This can usually be avoided by clicking on the title/subject link that appears with the page number link. With those exceptions, I really like the app. ### 4/5 — Only one problem *2020-11-28* The Opinion piece column in my Enquirer edition seems to run a day late. The last Jasen Williams opinion (about PG Sittenfeld) was in my paper on a Saturday, but a friend read it in her paper on Friday, a day before I saw it. Rob Portman's Opinion on the election results and Trump's law suits came out on a Monday, but wasn't in my paper until Tuesday. Even my Tuesday paper said his piece had been published a day before in the Monday column, but it was not there, it was in that same Tuesday edition. What's with that? Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. ### 4/5 — Easy Way to Get Local News *2020-10-26* I enjoy getting the digital print edition of the Enquirer in order to get local news, sports, and events as well as puzzles. The app is easy to use via page arrows and enlargement using the iPad touch feature. I could get the same and more information via the on-line Enquirer, but have found that it is slow to load articles due to the loading of many ads first. One disadvantage of the digital print version is that some of the news can be two days old, especially sports. ### 5/5 — Print Edition well done *2023-02-07* I read 3 x per week for CABVI (Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired). This app has been a Godsend because I can read from anywhere. It functions very well and is as easy to navigate as turning the page in an actual newspaper. Actually it’s easier because you just click on an article and the app puts all of it below. No turning pages to get to the rest of it. ### 5/5 — Enquirer *2023-01-08* I like reading the paper on line, but prefer to have it in my hand. Unfortunately we pay for the paper to be delivered, but it doesn’t always happen We have not had a paper delivered for the last three Sundays. Can you please see that we get our paper. ### 5/5 — Long time *2023-01-07* I have been a digital inquiry subscriber since they first started many years ago. I don’t have to go outside I don’t have to go down the street and I don’t have to go somewhere to get a paper it’s there when I’m ready for it on my iPad. ### 5/5 — Direct to your phone, Cincinnati Enquirer *2022-12-29, version 3.6.13* No need to go outside, no wet paper, no missing paper, just your day of outstanding reporting of local and National news to start your day. Please support Cincinnati Enquirer so we can continue to enjoy all that is offered by these talented journalists who continue to educate their readers. I cannot start my day without them. These writers are ESSENTIAL in my life and the life of so many others. The newspaper is my first look at the world to be enjoyed with my cup of coffee. I would be lost without it. ### 5/5 — Almost like reading the actual paper *2022-11-23* This app feels like you are reading The Enquirer print copy. The format is easy to follow. I can peruse the paper and find the articles I am interested in reading. I enjoyed reading and taking my newspaper everywhere. I used to cut or circle articles I liked, however, it is no longer an option. The app for the print edition is the closest I get. Thank you for keeping a print edition format in the app. ### 5/5 — Technology in the app *2022-06-27* Compared to the Journal-News (to which I also subscribe) the Enquirer app is a 10 whereas the Journal is 1 or even a negative - and I’m close to cancelling my subscription! My mom always used to save the “funny “ pages to read in bed . I work jumble and the basic crossword in bed. The Cincinnati Enquirer is a part of my life. PS the app that separates the individual comics is a wonderful improvement! ### 5/5 — Enquirer e-paper *2022-02-08, version 3.3.07* Didn’t think the paper could be enjoyed without “paper”. I was wrong. No walking out in all kinds of weather to get the paper in the morning. No paper to recycle. No ink stains on my hands. No stopping/starting the paper when I travel. I can read it without turning on lights in early dawn. I can read it no matter where I travel (depending on internet access). I can share articles and news with family and friends. Even share a chuckle from the comics. This is especially nice since my Cincinnati born and bred family all live out of town. My daily word games go with me to whatever waiting room I’m in. And you can’t complain about the price in comparison to the paper subscription. Someday I would love to have the word games interactive like the NYT Crossword. Would save having to print out each puzzle. I can dream. ### 5/5 — Great E-Paper *2021-07-13* We’ve been getting e-papers exclusively for about 7 yrs from various sources around the country. The Cincinnati paper is very good when compared with the others. The additional benefit of USA Today adds a lot to the value. The Enquirer loads quickly, consistently and early, which for us is important since we are early risers. We have no experience with the CSR part of the relationship, because we haven’t had any issues.
