### 2/5 — Great sounds - one bad flaw

*2026-08-24*

This is five stars except for two things - the subscriptions system, and lack of background play. You can pay for Quartet and own it (and with the new revision Quartet is fantastic). Here you pay $50 a year for limited tunes. They will increase, but 50 gets you all of Quartet and no more $. I’m all for paying the musicians and developers, but that is too much, especially given the other flaw, I have to have tunes memorized as I can’t flip to ForScore while the Feel Book is playing. So I can play Misty, and Cherokee. That’s it. Seems easy to correct, but what do I know? These are the hippest backing tracks available, but not so much better than Quartet that it makes it worth is given these flaws.

### 5/5 — Modern play along done right

*2026-08-19*

I am really enjoying the simplicity of using the app. Sounds great. The only thing on my wish list is an accompanying notation of the melody. Would be nice to have treble and bass versions for those of us in the rhythm section.

### 1/5 — Fake free app

*2026-07-31*

It says free with in app but then you cannot even try it and you have to commit to 45 USD a year. Ireal pro is a much better option for now

### 4/5 — So fun

*2026-07-30*

The recordings are incredible. Feels so good to play with these amazing rhythm sections. The UX could use some work - not the most intuitive, and my biggest issue as a pianist is that every time i open a new tune, I have to re-mute the piano, which is annoying. But it’s early days of the app and I’m sure it will only improve from here.

### 1/5 — Great idea poor app

*2026-07-26*

Very excited to download however I couldn’t get past the subscription page, kept coming up with an error saying ‘try again later’. Didn’t even get to try the app or see what it was about.

### 5/5 — Brilliant app, get it!

*2026-07-06*

I’ve tried a bunch of jazz play-along apps over the years, and this one is on a whole different level. The biggest thing for me is just how good it sounds. The rhythm sections are absolutely on fire. Instead of feeling like you’re practicing with a backing track, it feels like you’re playing with a real band that’s actually making music.

It’s honestly made me want to practice more. I’ll open it up planning to play for 20 minutes and an hour later I’m still going because it’s just so much fun.

Another thing I love is that they’re always adding new tunes. It feels like getting little surprise gifts every week because you never know what’s going to show up next. Every time I open the app there’s a chance there’s something new to dig into, and that keeps everything fresh.

If you’re into jazz and want something that’s actually inspiring to play with instead of just functional, definitely check this out. It’s become one of my favorite practice tools.

### 2/5 — Position playback crutch

*2026-07-05*

This apps inability to hide playback position will be a crutch for musicians actually working towards playing with real musicians. Sounds great, but does not help you learn to keep the form. IReal you can have it only show the top of form. This way you can think where the top is and compare to reality. Vs having your hand held to entire time. This is a core feature for backing track apps will happily update review when fixed.

### 5/5 — Revolutionary!!!!

*2026-06-30*

This app is a complete game changer, it already has a lot of backing tracks recorded and is developing into the next generation for jazz musicians.

### 5/5 — A Game Changer

*2026-06-30*

I’ve been using the feel book for a couple of months now. Being a jazz guitar student, I’ve found it incredibly useful to listen to an actual band. I’ve found myself isolating the piano to transcribe comping, and the bass to draw inspiration for designing good walking bass lines. The info section for each tune with the nitpicks about the tune’s background, history, and the actual vs wrong chord changes, has also been a great learning.

I guess the best part is that it doesn’t feel artificial. You actually feel that you’re in the middle of a real jam session with the pros, with every chorus being distinctly different, every fill and turnaround with a different sonic treatment.

Really appreciate the effort !

### 5/5 — The BEST Jazz play along period.

*2026-06-29*

Hands down, the only Jazz app you need. I’ve tried them all and The FEEL BOOK is it. World class musicians laying down tons of feel on every track. The catalog is already a lifetime worth of studying if you want really get better at Jazz. New tunes are added regularly. Yes it’s subscription, but support the musicians who create the tunes so the FEEL BOOK can keep putting out high-quality tracks. The value is insane! Keep it up!
