## What is The Gay Agenda+?

The Gay Agenda helps you meet real LGBTQ+ people in real life.

Most apps keep you swiping and scrolling for hours, and you still go to bed having met no one. This one works the other way around. You find queer events near you, or you start your own, you show up, and you meet people in person.

It is not a dating app and it is not another feed to doomscroll. There are no DMs, no swiping, and no fake profiles trying to scam you. It is a friend and event finder for people who actually want to leave the house.

The app is built for queer folks who show up, and the people who come to events get treated the best. When your account is brand new, your name carries a small "(new)" tag. It goes away once you show up to a real event and treat people well. Every event holds a few spots for new folks and saves the rest for members the community already trusts. That keeps out the flakes, the scammers, the catfish, and the bots, so the people you meet here are real.

Real people. Real events. Right in your neighborhood.

How it works:
1. Find queer events near you, or host your own.
2. Check in through the app when you get there.
3. After the event, leave honest feedback about the people you met.

That feedback is what keeps everyone safe. Good members earn trust. People who cause trouble do not stick around.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.5 — 2026-08-08

You can now delete your own messages. Long press any message you sent, in a group or a direct chat.

Photos you upload no longer carry the location where they were taken.

iPhones running iOS 15, 16 and 17 can install the app again.

The app now reads properly at large text sizes. Pop ups, filters, chat, event pages, comments, standings, the live event screen and all three mini games show their full text instead of cutting it off.

Fixed a crash when opening the "How adding friends works" panel on the Add a Friend screen.

Editing a message now uses the same length limit as sending one.

The zoom bubble you get when you long press in a text box is twice the size.

Timestamps no longer show "0m ago".

A friend request now buzzes your phone once instead of twice.

Your unread counts catch up the moment the app reconnects after losing signal.

When you report something, the app now tells you if the report did not go through, so you can try again. Guests are offered a free account instead of the report quietly failing.

Every couple of weeks you get a short message telling you how many events are coming up near you. You can turn it off in Profile, Settings, Notifications, Events near you.

Venues you add when rating an event now save completely.

The count me in if others are in control updates your badges right away.

The Delete button on a message is red instead of orange.

The privacy label now lists everything the app collects.

### 1.2.4 — 2026-07-25

• Keep sharing your location until you turn it off, so friends can find you at an event even with the app closed.
• Tapping a notification now opens the right screen.
• Your unread badge stays in sync across your devices.
• Venue reviews lead with the vibe instead of stars.
• Deleting a message now clears it for everyone right away, and group chats have a Delete option.
• Big-text and small-screen fixes across pop-ups, menus and drop-downs, so buttons stop getting cut off.
• Faster launches, and the "slow connection" notice no longer shows up when your connection is fine.
• Edit Profile shows every gender identity the app offers.

### 1.2.3 — 2026-07-17

Reactions now show which one you picked, and can remove it.
Screen reader support: VoiceOver and TalkBack now announce the event card icons, the tag icons, the who's going dots, and the buttons that used to read as just a nameless button. The bottom nav labels got brighter and easier to read too.
Notifications land where they should.
Faster all around: RSVPing is faster, and profile photos load instantly.
Plus a pile of fixes: the Go Pro button no longer gets stuck spinning, screens that fail to load now say so and give you a Try again button, and chats with someone who deleted their account read clearly instead of showing a confusing label, and when the Internet connection is slow you get a popup explaining the issue and not a blank page with a spinny load thing that leaves you feeling empty and hollow.
Thanks for being part of the community. Keep showing up.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-07-04

Search now covers every event — a search scans the full nationwide catalog, not just what's loaded, and "out loud" finds "OutLoud"
Richer event sharing — shared events include the title, venue, full address, and date + time
One-row event filters with a smarter tag picker, and the list/calendar toggle is back on the top bar
Hundreds more LGBTQ+ recreation league games nationwide on the feed
Changing your search distance refreshes the feed instantly
Notification settings rebuilt: one master switch, tidier categories, and a Pause section
Group chats can have a photo
Crushes: clearer confirmations, a once-a-day change limit, and tightened privacy
RSVP now counts for the post-event questionnaire — no check-in required
Cleaner Friends list, friend cards, Places directory, and easier-to-read settings
"Slow connection" heads-up at launch when the network is struggling
About page rewritten in Vicki's own words
Lots of polish and bug fixes

### 1.2.0 — 2026-06-24

What's new in this version:

A fuller events feed. Recurring events like weekly leagues, club nights, and meetups now fill the feed through the rest of the month and the next three months, and the month calendar lets you look that far ahead too. We also fixed a hiccup that had stopped some new recurring events from showing up.

Distances in your own units. If you are in a metric region like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or Ireland, you now see kilometres and metres. The US and UK keep miles and feet. This shows up on the events feed, the friend finder, and the distance filter.

Prices in your currency. The Pro plan price and the renewal terms now show in your local currency instead of always US dollars.

Reply to a specific message. In direct messages, long-press a message and tap Reply to quote the one you are answering, so it stays clear what you mean even in a fast back-and-forth.

Unread message glow. When you have an unread message, a chat icon shows up in the top-left and glows rainbow until you have read everything. Tap it to jump to your inbox.

The keyboard stays out of the way. Tapping the text box no longer covers your most recent message. The whole conversation lifts with the keyboard so the newest message stays in view.

Plus a batch of smaller fixes to make things quicker and smoother.

Thanks for being part of the community. Keep showing up.
