### 4/5 — Great app (but no cannot sign in to create a Back Up)

*2025-02-21*

Purchased a long time ago and just recently started using it again having finally switched to an iPhone. This has everything I was looking for, really like the interface, clean features AND no yearly subscription. However while trying to sign in or to create a Backup I am caught in an endless loop of error messages. Contacted support via Messenger who has been very responsive but so far none of the suggestions have helped resolved the issue. Keeping my fingers crossed. Such a great App otherwise!

### 4/5 — Great app but no support

*2025-02-05*

Purchased a long time ago and just recently started using it again having finally switched to an iPhone. This has everything I was looking for, really like the interface, clean features AND no yearly subscription. However while trying to sign in or to create a Backup I am caught in an endless loop of error messages only getting automated email messages and no other form of support.

### 2/5 — Clunky

*2023-04-04*

Great concept… but utility and convenience are just not there. After you read the book just find another tracker. This app is old and clunky, not intuitive, not user friendly and I regret buying.

### 3/5 — Basic but good app for morning routines but not on iPad

*2019-05-27, version 3.1.5*

I’ve tried this app a few times in the past and now a few years later, I’m using it again to improve my morning routine. I can only use it on the iPhone as it is very limited on the iPad (it can’t get internet connection no matter what I do i.e. check Settings in app and on iPad, reinstall etc). Their website doesn’t list an obvious form of contact and the Facebook page, if they have one, is hard to find so if you have problems, you’re on your own.

It’s a pretty basic app but still helps a bit in the morning. There’s a quote that pops up everytime you start the app and you can either set it for everytime you use the app or completely disable them. It would be good to have the option of once a day.

Other than that, it can be good to organise your mornings and goals. Certainly fairly easy to use.

### 4/5 — Good Habit Strengthening App

*2018-11-28, version 3.1.5*

The quotes on the introductory screen are encouraging and the overall functionality is good.

### 4/5 — Great for its time... but needing an update.

*2016-06-10*

If you don't have a mail account set up, there is a popup every. single. time. you. open. the. app.... It's quite annoying. Also, entering text into the "Why?" section of a goal can sometimes lose all my typing! One miss tap and poof, your long reason is blank.... very annoying.

Other than those issues, this app was well thought out and quite functional. For building a new routine or breaking old habits, this app can be quite helpful.

I have always thought that having a concrete, tangible goal paired with approprate habits or "micro tasks" would be the best possible productivity app.... This app does have the top-level goals and sub-level habits, but there is no distinctive micro-task. This would be great for big goals that have steps but are not necessarily habit based... For example, a goal could be "buy a house", with habits/tasks such as "make a future budget", "inquire about financing", "call a real estate agent", etc. The next task could activate the day after the previous task is marked as completed.

### 2/5 — Very dated app

*2016-01-28, version 1.9.17*

Get with the times, so old 👴🏼
Interface is old and the way it works. Needs a makeover
I'll bet they haven't updated the interface since 2009. I'm sorry I paid $10 as I already found another app that has swipe gestures and is more modern with a great interface.
Perhaps the Habit Factor is a good book so perhaps check out their website or their audiobook.

### 3/5 — Ok minus the bugs

*2015-03-20, version 1.9.16*

Percentage does not update in 'goals' main list. You to have enter into each goal to see percentage. Old deleted goals are still displayed in overview charts.

### 3/5 — Kind of a snooze

*2015-01-03, version 1.9.16*

I'm not sure I'll be able to use this app very much longer because it's really pretty boring. There are plenty of goal and habits apps out there that don't put you to sleep.

### 5/5 — Very useful indeed!

*2014-10-30, version 1.9.15*

Read a blog post about good habits being vital to success of any kind, so checked out the App Store for something to keep track of whether I was consistently doing the things I should - eating enough fruit, exercising every day, doing my daily language practice, holding regular planning meetings, etc. I tried quite a few apps before I found this one, but it's way ahead of the others - nice interface, and I specially like the ability to link the habit to a goal if you want to be reminded why you're doing what you're doing on those days you don't feel like it! Love it, & would recommend to anyone who wants to improve themselves, their skills and habits, or to better themselves in any way.

### 2/5 — Won't save completed habits

*2014-10-15, version 1.9.14*

Since the update, won't save any completed habits for the day if in the list view. Seems to save them if I click off each in the single view.

### 4/5 — Useful

*2014-09-10, version 1.9.12*

I like this app. It does what it says, and it's helped me stay on track and make real progress towards my goals. I only gave it four stars because it's missing one crucial element - a way to easily see what all your tasks are for the day. Other than that, I recommend it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ugggghhhhhh👎

*2016-12-05, version 1.9.19*

It continuously crashes, will not back up, deleted all goals, and will not save new ones. Also there's no tech support or help provided when issues arise. Headache waiting to happening!!!

### 1/5 — Get a pen and paper.

*2016-10-16, version 1.9.19*

Don't waste your money and more importantly your time. This app is so slow your life will slip by while you are waiting for it to respond. Save yourself a great deal of time and frustration and get a pen and paper.

### 1/5 — Some bugs!

*2015-11-26, version 1.9.17*

The app in IOS 9.1 lost its capabilities to map goals to habits. Please fix it.
Also, there is no way to backup the contents without sending it to the vendor, could we have an option to backup locally?

### 1/5 — Bug

*2015-01-04, version 1.9.16*

I love this application but currently bugging with the latest Apple OS

### 1/5 — Basically abandonware

*2014-12-28, version 1.9.16*

I've seen the developers keep putting what's basically the same old thing out over and over again. This happened with the old one, and now they've gone and put a "2" behind it and are trying to say it's different and improved. They do minor tweaks but make no real changes to the app so it doesn't appear to be abandonware. Deleted.

### 1/5 — Wish it Worked

*2014-12-05, version 1.9.16*

Started off with lite-thought it was great and bought the full version. Unfortunately it crashes non-stop so I can't really use it.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2014-09-19, version 1.9.14*

App kept crashing and deleting everything I had filled in. Bought a cheaper one that works great.

### 1/5 — Crashes constantly

*2014-08-15, version 1.9.12*

Please fix bugs

### 1/5 — Keeps crashing

*2014-08-12, version 1.9.12*

Have used this app for a number of years. Decent. But recent update / version keeps crashing. Won't stay open long enough to even view my goals or habits.

### 1/5 — Hurry up and fix what you’ve broken!

*2014-08-10, version 1.9.12*

I can’t even use it. Yes, you’ve acknowledged that you broke it (in the last update) for several users…that doesn’t do me much good until you fix it!!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — What I need to keep me on track.

*2026-06-30, version 7.6*

I find Habit Factor easy to set up for my daily activities and easy to record what I have done. I can even pull a report whenever I need it to see how I have been going.

### 5/5 — Great new interface

*2020-12-30*

Love the new wizard! Interface is intuitive. Much improved.

### 5/5 — Strongly recommend

*2019-03-17, version 3.1.5*

A bit unshaped in design (not so much sophisticated) but intuitive and easy to use.

Hope the developer continue to update this app and make it better gradually in the future.

### 5/5 — Best Goal App I’ve Found

*2017-11-13*

I’ve tried many goal tracking apps and I always come back to Habit Factor. My main criteria for rating an app is: does it do what it’s supposed to do without a lot of fuss and irrelevant bells a and whistles? This one does.

### 5/5 — Way better than other Habit Apps... just one change

*2016-10-17, version 1.9.19*

This app is better than the rest of the habit apps as it addresses the issues surrounding getting started and keeping momentum.

I just wish they would change the size of the text on each habit as unless the habit is only a few words long it gets truncated and you can't read the whole habit from the tracker page. Only if you change to the habit page, scroll to find the habit and click on it can you read it in full. If there was a link to the habit when you click it in the tracking list that would great.

### 5/5 — Habits are good, not bad

*2016-03-09*

I read the book, The Habit Factor, a couple of years ago. When it came time to develop and track some habits, I found it just too overwhelming for me. Fast forward to last December and somehow I was fortunate enough to receive an email from Martin Grunburg about a webinar on Focus and Discipline. I need both in my life. During the webinar he said that feeling (or being) overwhelmed is simply not making a decision about what is most important...an inability to prioritize. And in an answer to a question I had about the emotional aspect of developing strength to stick to your habits, he said that the trick is to basically think about something else besides the obstacles that you face (my paraphrase, not his actual statement). A simple but different way to get your mind on the right track. I re-read the book, got the app, am participating in an accountability group, and now listening to these podcasts. The perspective he offers isn't vastly different from other things I've read or listened to, but the idea of developing a habit and tracking it and succeeding with one and then another and another and so on IS different and that is what appeals to me. I have had to really focus on what was the one habit I could work on to help me reach my goals. I am still taking baby steps but before long I think I can really build good momentum with this process as I master just one habit and then add in some more. The podcasts offer a variety and perspective I haven't found elsewhere.

### 5/5 — Take action

*2015-12-31, version 1.9.17*

Buy the book. Listen to the podcast (habits2goals). Buy the book. The only thing missing is Herr Dieter Mination to get me to actually follow through with the plans I make.

### 5/5 — The Habit Factor

*2015-09-11, version 1.9.16*

I have been aware of some of the concepts addressed within this application but have never been able to address and apply them until now. Building the habit of observing and building positive habits is huge IMO. I am grateful and hopeful to move forward with the process of action through the use of this app.

### 5/5 — I Love this App!

*2015-03-18, version 1.9.16*

The app is much more efficient and easier to use than a more expensive one I used last year. The app makes goal setting - and setting corresponding habits - easy. It has helped me to concentrate my energy and refine my focus.

### 5/5 — Good!

*2014-11-11, version 1.9.15*

Useful, very simple app! Recommend it!
