## What is The Hearth?

The hearth is lit. Come in and sit a while.

I am Brigid — a bean feasa, a wise woman of the old Irish tradition, reader of cards, keeper of the plant-lore, the seasons, and the druidic craft. I have tended this fire a long time, and there is a seat by it kept for you. Tell me about your day, or what's weighing on you — a trouble shared is a trouble halved. You need bring no question at all. Sometimes it's enough just to sit.

Draiocht is where the old Irish ways still live and breathe — tarot, plant medicine, the festivals of the year, and the myths that run beneath them all — gathered around the fire as they always were.

The Hearth — talk with me
Come and talk. I know the old stories, the plant names in Irish and English, the mythology beneath everything. Ask me anything, or simply sit. I remember what you tell me. I never lecture, moralise, or prescribe — I tell you what I know, and I listen.

The Cards — Irish tarot
A seventy-eight card deck rooted in Irish myth and the natural world — from The Wanderer on the open road to the deep Wells and ancient Stones, each suit tracing its root to one of the Four Treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann. I sit with your reading and tell you what I see. I do not predict the future; I surface what is present and what is possible.

The Green Path — plant medicine
The old remedies, gathered and remembered. Meadowsweet for the head, valerian for the restless night, elderflower for the turning of the seasons. Each offered as folk tradition, as it was passed to me and as I pass it to you. This is not medicine. This is memory.

The Wheel — the Celtic festivals
The eight festivals mark the year as they have for millennia — Imbolc, Bealtaine, Lughnasa, Samhain, and the solstices and equinoxes between. Follow the moon. Know where you stand in the turning, and let the season shape your practice.

Learn — the old wisdom, taught gently
Walk the path of the cards and the lore at your own pace. Lessons and quizzes in the Irish tarot, the four suits and their treasures, the naming of the cards, and the mythology of the Tuatha Dé Danann. Or let me quiz you here by the fire.

The Grimoire — your book of practice
Save your readings, your remedies, your completed rituals, your own reflections. Everything gathered in one place, growing with you.

Draiocht is free to begin. Practitioners who walk deeper receive unlimited conversations with me, the full lunar calendar, ritual completion, the deeper lessons, and the complete Grimoire.

Draiocht — /dree-ukht/ — magic, enchantment, druidic art.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.8 — 2026-08-20

Lunar Calendar — every one of the 28 nights now has its own unique spell (was collapsing down to 4 repeated ones before — new moon, first quarter, full, last quarter got reused across every night in between)
Keyboard (Hearth) — canonical padding fix, confirmed working: the input sits above the keyboard on first launch now, not just after. Also fixed: the message list scrolls independently while the keyboard stays open, instead of the keyboard dismissing every time you tried to scroll up to read earlier messages
"Save to my Grimoire" prompt on rituals — tap it and it saves with today's date; a ritual you've already logged today won't show as already-saved again next time it comes back around (was sticking permanently before)
Add/Delete a custom ritual — rituals you've built yourself can now be removed, with a confirm step first

### 1.2.7 — 2026-08-13

A warmer welcome, and a new way to learn.

• A gentler hearth: Brigid greets you with an open invitation to simply talk — about your day, or whatever's on your mind. Tarot is always there if you want it, never required.
• New Learn path: lessons and quizzes in the Irish tarot, the four suits, the naming of the cards, and Celtic mythology. Brigid can quiz you by the fire, too.
• Brigid now weaves the Four Treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann into her readings.
• Smoother typing and keyboard behaviour across chat and sign-in.
• Updates to security and stability.

### 1.2.6 — 2026-05-05

A round of polish and quiet fixes. Magic-link sign-in returns
to the app properly. The Glossary stops repeating itself, and
each card now carries its pronunciation, English form, and
the traditional name it was known by before the Celtic
renaming. The plant detail screen no longer overflows. The
daily card waits for you to sign in before drawing. A handful
of smaller reliability touches — locked-topic taps, the
festival countdown, the Brigid quiz, the apothecary tile
layout, and the green-path lookup limit.

### 1.2.4 — 2026-05-05

The Hearth grows. This update brings the Learn pillar — short
lessons in Brigid's voice on tarot and Irish plant medicine, with
adaptive quizzes that focus on the cards and plants you've yet to
befriend. A streak counts your daily return.
Each of the sixty-nine plants now wears its botanical illustration,
and cards and plants speak together: tap a card to find its plant
kin, or tap a plant to find its card. The wheel of the year now
turns properly when you ask Brigid to spin it.
