The fonts work, but the text shows the encoding at the beginning and end of each verse. There's no sound when using text to speech. When hitting "Play Now" in the quiz section it address states the questions aren't ready; Videos, "No results found". Most of the time I use my iPad to do my reading because it’s easier on my eyes. However, there are times when my phone is more convenient, but since progress isn’t synced across devices, I have to try to remember where I left off each time I switch from one device to the other. There seems to be no way to ask for help, so I’m hoping the creator of the app will see this review. ### 1/5 — I love the word dislike the app *2024-08-15, version 3.6.1* I purchased the lifetime ad free version May 7, 2024 for $7.99 and I am still receiving ads! I tried contacting the developer through the help however it always reads fail. I tried receiving a refund from the Apple Store and said it was not eligible for a refund. The app use to read the passages with a soothing AI voice and now it’s just speech from the text and now reads as it was when computers first began to have speech, robotic and not flowing. I like the Bible and the readings but would like what I paid for! I would also like to be able to receive assistance when needed ### 1/5 — Dangerous misquotes Jesus *2024-04-10, version 3.6.1* I stopped reading at -Mark 7 : 22 when I found they had put words into Jesus’ mouth for whatever reason. Weather it was done for nefarious or innocent reasons is irrelevant . There is enough fake news out there without interpreting the good news in a way that suits bigots and zealots. I still believe in god, but I’m going back to the printed word. Don’t trust the digital domain for such matters manipulation is a simple button click away with such things. ### 2/5 — Dissatisfied *2024-03-25, version 3.6.1* If you spend money on this Bible application (purchasing the ad-free version), the application will continually force advertisements and links to external sites when you load it up. Did not see anywhere which edition, many books and saints are missing. It’s not a Catholic Bible App. The book of Daniel has 14 chapters. Daniel 3 has 100 verses, not 30 like the Protestant bible has. It doesn’t even have the book of Wisdom in it. All Catholic Bibles have the book of Wisdom, Tobit, 1 & 2 Maccabees, Baruch, Sirach, Judith, additions to Esther. The text to speech reads those codes every single time. There should be a option to have the text to speech announce the chapter number or not announce the chapter number. Maybe have a different ai voice be used when Jesus is talking in the text to speech, like during Holy Week when the priest says Jesus’ words during the readings. Lots of bugs with picking up where you left off with the text to speech. Very hard to select what verse you want and have it keep reading from there.
