## What is The Holy Quran?

The Holy Quran is a calm, beautifully crafted reader built around the 13-line IndoPak mushaf. It presents the complete Qur'an in the authentic Taj Company layout familiar across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa and beyond, with the same words falling on the same lines of the same pages as the printed copy you already know, so anything you have committed to memory stays exactly where you left it.

Read it as a crisp digital mushaf or as the scanned printed pages. Listen to the recitation with each word lit as it is recited. Turn to translation and tafsīr when you want to sit with a verse a little longer. There are no adverts and no accounts, and the whole text travels with you offline.

Reading:
• Authentic 13-line IndoPak page layout: a crisp digital mushaf and the scanned printed mushaf
• Full screen reading, with the recitation controls and a go-to-page field always to hand
• Reflowable mode with adjustable text size, for larger, more comfortable type
• Continue where you left off, with page and juz' tracking
• Bookmarks, and sūrah and juz' navigation
• Works offline: the mushaf, translations and tafsīr need no connection
• Portrait or landscape, with a two-page spread on iPad and on larger iPhones
• The screen stays awake while you are reading or listening
• Light and dark themes

Listen:
• Word-by-word recitation, with synchronised highlighting as the qari recites
• Tap any word to hear it
• Nine reciters. Mishary Rashid Alafasy is free; Premium adds Abdul Basit Abdul Samad, Abdul Rahman As-Sudais, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary, Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi and four more
• Adjustable playback speed, with sūrah repeat

Reflect:
• Verse translation from Saheeh International and Maarif-ul-Qur'ān
• Word-by-word translation and transliteration
• Tafsīr from Maarif-ul-Qur'ān and Ibn Kathīr, for every verse
• Tafsīr follows the page you are reading, and runs on from one sūrah into the next
• On iPad in landscape, tafsīr sits beside the page rather than over it
• Search across translations, tafsīr and sūrah names
(Translation, tafsīr and search come with Premium.)

Premium:
A single premium unlock adds tafsīr, verse and word translation, search, and additional reciters. The complete Qur'an, both mushaf styles, word-by-word recitation audio, and bookmarks are always free.

The Holy Quran Premium is available as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription with a 7-day free trial, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in your own local currency.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.1 — 2026-08-20

The app now reads properly in landscape on iPhone, not only on iPad. The page uses the full width of the screen, and larger iPhones can show two pages side by side. In landscape mode, tafsīr, the now playing card and the text size panel dock to the side rather than covering what you are reading.

The reader's controls have moved. One slim bar carries the recitation controls and the page number, and the reciter, tafsīr, text size and navigation are all a tap away in a drawer from the top left. Tapping the page number jumps straight to any page in the mushaf.

The screen stays awake while you are reading or listening, so a recitation you are following no longer stops to lock the screen.

Tafsīr reads continuously. Open it where one sūrah ends and the next begins and it now runs straight on, instead of stopping at the last verse of the one you were leaving. Tap a verse number in the commentary and the mushaf moves to that verse behind it. On an iPad in landscape it sits beside the page rather than over it.

The page itself sits steadier and reads larger. It no longer shifts as you turn from one page to the next, and the printed mushaf renders more sharply.

Recitation timings for Abdul Basit Abdul Samad have been refreshed, so the word-by-word highlighting follows his recitation more closely, and a verse of the Saheeh International translation has been corrected.

Premium now updates the moment it changes. If your subscription renews, or you have already bought Premium on another device, it unlocks straight away instead of waiting for the app to be reopened.

Questions or feedback? We would love to hear from you at hello@itjustworks.uk.

Jazakallah for your continued support. Please remember us in your duas.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-01

Tafsīr and word meanings now work offline.

Commentary is now included for every verse. Previously most verses needed a connection to load their tafsīr, and now none do. Word meanings and transliteration are available offline too.

Tafsīr search now covers the full commentary rather than a small portion of it.

Word by word audio and the highlighting that follows the recitation are both more accurate.

### 1.0.8 — 2026-07-26

This update makes full-screen reading easier to use:

• Finding full screen: A one-time tip now points out the full-screen button at the top of the reader.
• A clear way out: The exit button now sits at the end of the page-number line at the foot of the page, so it reads as part of the mushaf instead of floating in the corner. A one-time tip shows you where it is the first time you go full screen.
• Fewer accidental exits: Tapping the page no longer leaves full screen. Only the exit button does that, so you can tap the page edges to turn pages and keep reading uninterrupted.

Jazakallah for your continued support. Please remember us in your duas.

### 1.0.7 — 2026-07-17

This update brings a round of refinements and fixes, with special attention to Mac and iPad:

• Large text: The reader now stays fully readable at the biggest accessibility text sizes. Lines are no longer cut off.
• Mac & iPad displays: The interface, menus, and reading options now scale to a comfortable size on any window and on external monitors, instead of appearing small.
• Cleaner spread: Added a subtle centre divider between the two pages of an open mushaf, and centred shorter pages to match the rest.
• Sharper app icon on Mac.
• Fixed the audio player bar being clipped in full screen, removed a stray scrollbar on some screens, and made a number of smaller layout improvements.

Jazakallah for your continued support. Please remember us in your duas.

### 1.0.6 — 2026-07-09

This update brings the reading experience closer to the printed mushaf.
• Clean reading view. A new immersive mode hides the menus and enlarges the page to fill the screen, so nothing sits between you and the text. Tap the page to bring the menus back. Turn it on in Settings, or tap the expand icon while reading.
• Ruku markers. The ruku number now appears in the margin of the page, just as in the printed mushaf.
• Sajdah of recitation. Verses of prostration are now marked on the page to match the printed Indo-Pak mushaf, so you always know where a sajdah falls during recitation.
• Smaller refinements and fixes for a smoother read.
