### 4/5 — Mr John Pierre

*2026-07-05, version 4.0.13*

Concise and unbiased reporting

### 3/5 — Ipaper online

*2026-06-12, version 4.0.12*

Great but I didn’t get a World Cup schedule pull out poster

### 4/5 — News content is good, but a bit click-baity

*2026-05-22*

The paper itself is great, and the news coverage excellent. I like the impartial stance of the paper which is why I started reading it. I’d prefer a bit less comment and more news. And definitely fewer headlines that are click-bait. On a technical level the app is very robust and works well. In the newspaper layout I’d like to click on an article to read it in a pop up window which would make it easier to read on a smartphone.

### 3/5 — Access difficult

*2026-05-06, version 4.1*

I try to log in using my phone. I do the email and the "I'm not a robot".

Then you email me a six digit access code to copy into a box. To access this, I have to leave the i Paper... and there is no way to return to the page I was on to fill in the code.

Zero points.

### 3/5 — Lost independence

*2026-05-05, version 4.1*

No longer balance: too much anti government/ Starmer opinion and few facts. When my subscription runs I will not renew.

### 2/5 — Impossible to open I

*2026-04-09, version 4.0.9*

When I try to continue reading I’m sent around in circles - told I’m already registered but can’t break out of kafkaesque loop!

### 5/5 — Informative

*2026-02-21, version 4.0.7*

Good reporting and read

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-02-16, version 4.0.7*

Overall gives great coverage of news in a balanced concise manner

### 3/5 — Expand view

*2026-02-15, version 4.0.7*

The content is good, however the reading experience could be improved by the ability to “expand” the view, similar to the Daily Mail app.

### 3/5 — Beware of cancelling your subscription early

*2026-02-15, version 4.0.7*

I cancelled my subscription after 2 months because I was getting too many emails. I switched off all notifications etc on the account settings and was still getting them. Beware; if you cancel early you don’t have access till the end of your subscription. It terminates immediately.

### 5/5 — Succinct!

*2026-02-14, version 4.0.7*

Great to have I available on my iPad, good reviews, interesting articles not all about GenZ. I appreciate the format, the varying length of articles and the range of topics and comment you cover

### 5/5 — More focus on premier league

*2026-02-09, version 4.0.7*

Hi, love the paper, love the layout and its take on news from other newspapers. However, it would be great to get live scores and reports to read with me Guinness please?

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2026-02-06, version 4.0.6*

I’ve always bought the paper copy of the i but subscribed to the digital version when the sale was on - a brilliant decision - so much better than I’d imagined.

### 5/5 — Well presented news and stories of interest

*2026-01-14*

Hello, I always read the i Paper whilst I was at work, but since retiring during the Covid pandemic I stopped taking the paper daily and subscribed to The Week magazine as a source of news and current affairs.
This was ok at first, but I missed the I Paper and would buy the odd one, particularly the weekend edition.
Travelling abroad more I found it frustrating to find a pile of magazines waiting on my return, I think I tried the online subscription for a while, but it didn’t seem the same.
Fast forward to the present and I decided to take the subscription to my iPad and must admit I am really enjoying it and wondering why I waited so long to get it!
It’s really good and even more in-depth than the newspaper with the articles that arrive in emails, I find myself reading them at all different times of the day and of course the icing on the cake is going to be when I am abroad.
Well done to all the staff for a genuine high standard of journalism and putting together a great newspaper albeit electronic, which seems to suit me really well.
Thank you
Kind regards
William Richardson

### 5/5 — Review

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor

*2026-06-29, version 4.0.13*

The only reason I buy it is because it’s cheap and a five minute read. Too often yesterday‘s news, lots of guest workpieces to fill copy and page, very much a woman’s newspaper-3/4 always women’s columns and photos very difficult to read. I imagine if you are colourblind (which I’m not) because so often, copy is coloured with illegible font. But what the use of complaining no one reads or takes any notice of complaints on this paper

### 1/5 — Scrolling to back page takes a while

*2026-05-13, version 4.1*

Like a lot of football fans I like to read the back pages first. But to do so I have to turn each page one at a time, this seems to take forever. Can you include a short cut please.

### 1/5 — Teeny text?

*2026-02-15, version 4.0.7*

Just trying this app; the content is fine but the text is ludicrously small and illegible on my phone. Is there a setting I’m missing??

### 1/5 — Are you RW?

*2026-01-24, version 4.0.5*

I find a lot or your narrative, especially headlines to be anti-labour and echo right wing narratives. Everything the RW press do is to discredit legitimate politics. I subscribed as I believed you were neutral. Not impressed.

### 1/5 — Poor experience

*2026-01-19, version 4.0.5*

Keep getting asked to subscribe but i already did. Poor login experience

### 1/5 — Logging on is a nightmare

*2025-12-05, version 4.0.5*

I’ve subscribed. Changed password . Going round in a loop.

### 1/5 — Lazy, sloppy almost-journalism

*2025-10-11, version 4.0.5*

It used to be a reasonable paper, but it has moved downmarket to compete with the likes of the Mail.

### 1/5 — Why are we gagged?

*2025-09-30, version 4.0.5*

Why are we not allowed to comment on the articles you post?
Even the Daily Telegraph allows everyone to comment on every article (except, of course, those which are about ongoing legal proceedings and police investigations).
Is it that you believe that your subscribers cannot be trusted to hold the correct views?

### 1/5 — Overall impression

*2025-09-29, version 4.0.5*

As a new reader I find the reporting is often very negative with good news buried in the middle of the paper. The reporting appears to be strongly anti-government. Statistics are poorly reported with the sample number generally missing.

### 1/5 — Sept 13th London march.

*2025-09-15*

I was hoping for an ‘independent’ report of the London march. What you gave us was the accepted narrative about a relatively small turn out of racists and hate speech lunatics making a fuss about the growth of diversity.

My wife and I are in our seventies and participated in the march, having driven up from Devon the night before. We had previously been on the 2003 Iraq march, and CND marches from the 70s onwards.

What you didn’t say but should have, was that the march was made up of millions, not thousands (examine the drone footage). You might incidentally have asked why the police deliberately underestimate the numbers, it is worth investigation.

Everyone we met was thoughtful and kind, quite touchingly so given our age! Nobody was in any way racist or aggressive. Apart from a few concerns about crowd crush dangers we felt safe and looked after.

What I can report, which you clearly missed or deliberately ignored, was a change in attitude towards the Police. It was quite subtle but there seems to be a growing suspicion of our police force, this extended to all classes. Jeering and hissing. This I believe should be investigated. I find it most worrying that the trust that underpinned our ‘policing by consent’ philosophy, is breaking down.

In summary you towed the ‘Tommy Robinson’ is an evil racist and missed the underlying significance of the political sea change that is underway.

Yours Keith Ash

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent reportage

*2026-07-10, version 4.0.13*

I have always enjoyed the independent’s clear and balanced reporting and shal continue to do so

### 5/5 — Good quality reporting

*2026-07-08, version 4.0.13*

The i paper does a great job in highlighting real life and world issues in such a focused way! Good reporting and thoughtful and timely comments. Without bias in many cases!

### 5/5 — Family favourite

*2026-06-27*

I have been reading the weekend for over a year. I find it’s more concise than the larger papers not as many adverts. And i consider it to be a truthful paper. Doesn’t seem to have much rubbish or exaggerated news in it.
Only extra i would add is the family puzzles. There are not any child friendly puzzles on the app. Well for younger children. My grandaughter loves to come on a Saturday just for the puzzles.

### 5/5 — Quality journalism that’s affordable

*2026-06-14, version 4.0.12*

Excellent news coverage from around the world and they don’t mind treading on toes. Compared to the Apple version, 10 times better at less than a fifth of the cost, can’t recommend highly enough.

### 5/5 — Review

*2026-06-09, version 4.0.12*

Fantastic unbiased journalism that the media in this country so desperately needs

### 5/5 — Balanced

*2026-05-09, version 4.1*

Only paper to really give a balanced view of politics

### 5/5 — Other newspapers are available

*2026-05-04, version 4.1*

But only the iPaper gives concise easy to read politically neutral news

### 5/5 — My I

*2026-04-04, version 4.0.9*

I could be so boring, in fact I probably am, as to us it is just enough to read and even handed.

### 5/5 — Honest storytelling

*2026-03-24, version 4.0.9*

I trust their reporting

### 5/5 — Truth reader.

*2026-02-21, version 4.0.7*

I now seek out your paper, as it is interesting and useful, especially the latest on the history of the Royals problem. I know the other history but it was good to reminded .
