### 5/5 — Love the app

*2022-03-13, version 3.6.05*

Next best thing to a real printed paper. Love being able to read local paper while traveling. Easy to use app

### 5/5 — I use this nearly every morning, and it works well.

*2022-03-12, version 3.6.05*

No complaints, mimics a real newspaper pretty well on an iPad.

### 5/5 — Love reading on my iPad!

*2022-03-03, version 3.3.14*

So easy to read on my iPad but we also love reading the actual printed paper. We never want that to go away! But having this so easy on iPad, both are the best, so convenient and way to keep up with National and local news!

### 5/5 — Good News

*2022-02-14, version 3.3.14*

I’m enjoying reading Indiana news while I live several (!) states away. It’s easy to use & the edition shows up in color. The Star covers my sports teams!!

### 5/5 — handles just like the physical paper

*2022-02-01, version 3.3.14*

I like having actual pages laid out like newspaper pages. It’s easy to swipe from page to page. Several years ago, to read the comics, you had to tap once or twice to read each one, which was very frustrating. But now you can read them like you do in the physical paper.

### 5/5 — It’s convenient

*2021-12-12, version 3.3.14*

I like having the app for the IndyStar. It’s easy to access and navigate. Also like that it’s always available since my physical paper rarely shows up at my house

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2021-12-03, version 3.3.14*

Easy to read the news and to keep up on what is happening in my home state.

### 5/5 — Good and got better

*2021-11-05, version 3.3.14*

The app is much more stable and I enjoy reading the paper My past review: Good app overall, occasional crashes and performance hickups not withstanding.

### 5/5 — Love the ‘Extra’ pages!

*2021-10-28, version 3.3.14*

I’m excited every day to be able to read the advice columns, work the Jumble, check out the Weather & read my favorite comics…all combined in 4 convenient pages!

### 5/5 — Timely and valuable information

*2021-09-07, version 3.3.14*

It is so important to ha e timely and valuable information and the Star places this at your fingertips with their app and reporting.

### 5/5 — Indianapolis Star app is a winner

*2021-09-01, version 3.3.14*

This app allows so many easy ways to maneuver through articles and news on line. Very Impressive!

### 5/5 — Good read

*2021-08-31, version 3.3.14*

Took awhile to get the hang of getting through the digital version, but has been worth it. Like it better than just articles on screen.

### 5/5 — Prefer the print edition Digital version

*2021-08-26, version 3.3.14*

Gave up on home delivery but still like the print edition look and feel. This has it all.

### 5/5 — A necessary habit.

*2021-07-20, version 3.3.14*

Reading is keeping up with the present and learning about the past. Can’t start the day with out the Indy Star.

### 5/5 — Indy Star

*2021-07-18, version 3.3.14*

Love the format and the writing! Greg Doyle’s article are great. I’ve lived in Mississippi for 7 years but still read the Star daily to keep up with the area as our kid lived there. I started reading the Star when I was a Star carrier in Connersville,In in 1969. I passed the paper unt8l I graduated from HS and got none of your scholarships.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Appalling Account Management

*2021-06-04, version 3.2.43*

Three big problems.

1. If you have a login with a different Gannet publication, you will have nightmares disentangling your subscriptions. Your best option is to cancel all other accounts, wait for them to expire, then set up a new account in Indy Star. Don’t try to have simultaneous subscriptions to more than one Gannet publication.

2. Trying log in with your Apple ID will cause endless frustration. Just don’t.

3. The subscriber support line is clueless about these issues.

Other than that, the app provides decent basic access to content from the Indianapolis Star.

### 3/5 — App good. Star, not so much.

*2021-09-26, version 3.3.14*

I only give the Indy star a 3 because the content is not generally Indy content. It’s USA Today content. The lack of columnists that tell us about what is happening in our little part of the world is appalling. The amount of information provided at all is very short. It didn’t happen to the NYT or the WP. But the App, itt very easy to navigate- there just needs to be more to navigate.

### 3/5 — Not always easy

*2020-11-20, version 3.2.43*

I love to read the Star on my iPad. I’m glad that we aren’t using all of that paper. But, sometimes it doesn’t always come up. Or, it takes awhile. Or, it comes in and out. I just wish it was more reliable.

### 4/5 — Keeping up

*2022-04-28, version 3.6.05*

When I travel, it’s great to stay up with local news by reading the star on my phone.

### 4/5 — Improving!

*2022-01-15, version 3.3.14*

Many iterations have appeared on my iPhone now. Finally it’s beginning to click. I just wish the interactive puzzles (Sudoku, Premier crossword) could be used.

### 4/5 — 2 issues

*2021-11-28, version 3.3.14*

1. Oftentimes the app closes out. 2. I prefer to view in portrait mode. It resembles a natural layout of reading the paper version. But there is an advertising “bar” near the bottom of the page the interferes with that experience. On the positive side, my wife and I don’t have to wait for the other one to finish any particular section of the ‘paper’ before we can read it

### 4/5 — Good but not great

*2021-10-06, version 3.3.14*

Internet version of paper is good quality but at times transition page to page has problems. For some reason comic pages do not focus inside each square although title will be clear. I use iPad so maybe better with other devices.

### 4/5 — Online paper

*2021-06-28, version 3.2.43*

I am satisfied with the online paper, much more economical than the print version. Periodically an ad banner runs across the middle of the print which is annoying and on Thursday, for some reason, it doesn’t go directly to the USA Today bonus section. You have to search through the index. Lastly, a box will come up saying I’m not reading the current publication, which I am, I have to make sure it loads the correct day. Many times it’s the previous day, I just go to the editions and pick the correct day.

They usually have it ready by 4 am or earlier, which I like. I still don’t agree that they canceled Millard Filmore and some articles don’t give a completely unbiased opinion, but on the whole I am satisfied.

### 4/5 — E-edition of Star

*2021-06-01, version 3.2.43*

I love the way each day’s e-edition automatically opens when I go to the app. I don’t have to go find it. When articles are continued on another page, the link to the other page is automatic. I like the way I can zoom in and make the print larger.

### 4/5 — Fuzzy comics

*2021-02-19, version 3.2.43*

I enjoy reading the digital paper in the morning but I can’t understand why the comics are so fuzzy they are unreadable. Perhaps once every week or two they are fine so I know you can do it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Wonderful news app and newspapers

*2023-06-03*

I love my IndyStar app for both our local Indianapolis news and also the USA Today news! I fully support and appreciate the wonderful and talented journalists and brave editors, even more since the USA Today’s rare endorsement of a candidate who best represents their Common Ground series, Joe Biden. Thank youuu!

### 5/5 — Indy Star

*2023-01-06, version 3.6.13*

Please continue with the Print Edition of the Star, because I am not a fan of the e edition of the Star. I have been reading the Star for more than 50 years.

### 5/5 — Mornings with the Star

*2022-12-26, version 3.6.13*

I’m now 73 years old. In 1960 I became an Indianapolis Star delivery carrier in a small town, Coatesville, IN. The town had a population of around 700 and I delivered to around 120, so I knew about everyone. The Star was part of my identity. Surviving people of Coatesville to this day remember me as their Star paperboy. Over the years the Star was always part of my morning routine when I could get one to read, (I became an airline pilot with TWA and electronic editions were yet to be thought of). Now retired, I spend the first parts of my morning with the electronic print edition and am so glad you help me keep in touch with the community I love. Thank you Indianapolis Star.

### 5/5 — Got it back!

*2022-12-21, version 3.6.13*

My Indianapolis Star subscription wasn’t working, but after I called with my concerns, it came back!

### 5/5 — Does It’s Job

*2022-08-03, version 3.6.13*

Works fine to read the paper. Plenty of options to suit your individual wants.

### 5/5 — Every morning

*2022-07-31, version 3.6.13*

No longer do I have to comb the shrubbery searching for my morning paper and wonder if it was even delivered. Now I can pull up the latest edition on my iPad and read with my coffee at a convenient time. It helps me to keep up with community events and world news. I look forward to the Sunday edition with its big crossword puzzle. I print it out, pour a beverage, and sit with it after church. I would miss it if it were no longer available, but I don’t miss coping with the delivery issues of the paper copy.

### 5/5 — Wonderful news app and newspapers

*2022-07-26, version 3.6.13*

I love my IndyStar app for both our local Indianapolis news and also the USA Today news! I fully support and appreciate the wonderful and talented journalists and brave editors, even more since the USA Today’s rare endorsement of a candidate who best represents their Common Ground series, Joe Biden. Thank youuu!

### 5/5 — Star

*2022-07-12, version 3.6.13*

The ability to put the Star on Screen has been well thought out.

                                     THANKS!

### 5/5 — Always have IndyStar at finger tips

*2022-04-21, version 3.6.05*

Love being able to read Indy Star online while on vacation. It is easy to use.

### 5/5 — I love this app.

*2022-04-14, version 3.6.05*

IndyStar app has content days before it’s in the actual newspaper. It’s the first place I go to every morning for local news.
