There is tons of room on my ipad, and the internet speed is reasonable, but why would you need it, if the magazines have been downloaded onto the app. Annoying as heck! And to top it off, subscriptions are cheaper on Zinnio, which is far superior in ease of use. I am downloading any pattern I might use sometime into my Knit Companion app, also far superior to this one. ### 2/5 — Fantastic magazine, terrible customer service *2021-12-09, version 7.0.1* A fantastic magazine but be careful if you make your purchases through the App Store because every time they update their app, you “lose” your issues and customer service won’t help. The same is true for Simply Crochet and Simply Knitting. I am super disappointed because I have lost almost all my issues and really love these magazines. ### 3/5 — Lost features in the app *2021-08-10* In the previous version I was able to print a copy of the pattern I was using. Please update and let us know what you think! ### 2/5 — Frustrating, part 2 *2021-08-07* Update - was happy that I would be able to play with the reading mode and FINALLY print a pattern. Downloaded the new version and can’t find how to print and touching the screen to modify the appearance didn’t work. Love the magazine but hate the app. Can’t save a copy on my iPad and can’t save a pattern in PDF or KnitCompanion which is the app I use to knit. Thanks! ### 1/5 — Purchasing all back issues *2021-08-06* I know a customer had a problem accessing theirs. Mine are all there. Really love the monthly MasterClass. UPDATED: new score = horrible I have always loved this app. I have lost access to over a hundred issues that I PAID FOR because I won’t allow them to manipulate my data and information with their new app. I wish I knew how to sue, and I’ll surprised that EU law permits this. ### 1/5 — Same problem with purchased special issues. *2021-07-13* All my special issue purchases have disappeared with the update. Apparently I have to repurchase them. Have requested the app people to look into it but no response. I did show them the receipts dates of purchase of each special issue but they have ignored it Don’t buy the special issues. ### 2/5 — The Knitter *2019-09-25* I love this magazine. The new Knitter App honored my purchases on the old Knitter App for approximately three years and then one day, probably after an App update, they were gone. I owned nearly all the early issues. There is a good mix of woolly articles to read and intermediate/advanced patterns to try. I love the content BUT the app is very disappointing and wouldn’t recommend it! When you renew your subscription, you get a new number which you have to wrangle the app to accept. If you have bought the back catalogue to access patterns, or simply want to look at an issue from a previous year’s subscription, you have to switch to the relevant subscription number. Why can’t they all be rolled up into your latest number? VERY CLUNKY - and hugely disappointing! I would not recommend the app! ### 1/5 — My previously purchased issues have disappeared. *2023-11-27* I have been a digital subscriber for years. I purchased the digital magazine through the app using iTunes apple and downloaded to my iPhone. A few years ago, I lost my issues on my iPhone and was never able to recover them. However, at the time, I was able to access them on my iPad. This month all of my issues have disappeared again. I have enjoyed The Knitter for years. Unfortunately, if my issues cannot be restored, I am unlikely to renew my subscription. Please update and let us know what you think! ### 1/5 — Poor app and poor service *2022-09-08* Whilst I love the magazine, I have found the digital version unsatisfactory in the extreme. The latest version needs a clumsy registration process which means being unable to access a subscription for more than a month after purchase. Customer support is very poor and unresponsive to the actual problem. I’d try for access through your local library or Zinio instead. ### 1/5 — I have lost all my in app purchases *2021-11-01* Version 7.0.1 of this App can not restore my purchases and says “contact our help” no help link in app and here, the app help link opens up typeform.com and asks you to resister. How do I get help for this failed release instal? I had pursed through the app quite a lot of issues individually, year subscription and back issue offer. After latest update, I am unable to restore my purchases. Error message says to contact support. Can’t do that in app and support link here opens a site that I must register to first? Das wäre ja noch zu verschmerzen, aber wenn man die älteren Ausgaben laden will, stürzt die App regelmäßig ab. Ich hoffe, das wird bald geregelt. Gerade die älteren Ausgaben mag ich sehr. I have lost all my back issues and cannot figure out how to get the remaining issues to download. It would have been a good idea to give appropriate instructions for “gathered.how”. I like this magazine, but not these app changes ### 1/5 — Update that ignores your privacy *2021-08-06* The update means you now have to sign in through gathered.how… which clearly states that they can gather information about you and share it. There are no alternatives, so unless you agree you have no access to previously purchased magazines. Love it. ### 5/5 — Enjoyable reading and lovely patterns *2021-04-02* This is a very aspirational magazine for me but I enjoy admiring the beautiful patterns. Patterns I have tried have worked well and produced good results and I enjoy lthe challenge of new techniques. I am a slow knitter so often knit items published years before. The downside is that the beautiful, high quality yarns featured can be unobtainable quite quickly, so recommendations for suitable alternative yarns would be useful. The tutorials are brilliant! And the ability to search back on the website makes them an invaluable reference tool. ### 5/5 — Really nice app for knitting *2020-11-14* I enjoy this publication immensely. The articles are some of the best in craft magazines. The patterns are easily understood by an American and that is nice. The designers are highlighted and their selections are intriguing. There is a wide variety of projects by skill level. I tend to like pattern written in English by crafters out side of the USA. This magazine peaks my interest and satisfies my curiosity for what the rest of the world is crafting with and on. My one glitch is when something needs further explaining or conversation about the website there never seems to be a good way to contact you or get a response from you. I did find it a little confusing to start with but the ‘Support’ section is pretty comprehensive. If, like me, you want to jot notes down on a paper copy, it’s easy to print out just the pages you want. You can subscribe or order back-copies via the app. which stay in your library for ease of reference even if you decide to cancel your subscription.
