## What is The Lantern Road?

There is a road of lamps along the sea floor. Every lamp has gone out, and the road is forgotten.
Landing a ring on a pillar is how you light one again.

■ You cannot fail
No timer, no lives, no game over. If every ring gets stuck, the stage simply sets itself up again. Nothing is lost by not clearing it, so you never have to play well.

■ The water pushes, and so does your hand
Two water-jet buttons at the bottom of the screen lift the rings. Tap for a gentle push, hold for a strong one. When that isn't enough, shake and tilt the phone itself — it's a thing in your hands, after all. Rings already seated on a pillar never shake loose.

■ 100 stages, ten seas
Ten chapters, from a shallow bay to a quiet abyss. Each chapter changes the water — an updraft lifting the middle, a downdraft pressing everything under, clams that puff and rest, jellyfish drifting with updrafts trailing behind them, a swell that raises the whole tank and lets it fall. Every chapter has its own painting and its own music.

■ It runs without words
There is no text on the play screen. What you need to clear, and how far you have come, is told by the picture alone. The story appears twelve times in all — once every ten stages, and only after the playing is done.

■ It collects into a picture book
Every card you pass keeps its place in the book on the title screen: a sixteen-page fairy tale about Lu, a cloth doll who leapt from a dark lighthouse into the sea and gave away one piece of herself for each lamp she lit.

■ Good for
Bedtime, a commute, any moment your hands are restless and your head wants quiet. A stage takes a few minutes and can be left at any point. No internet connection required.

■ Free, up to a point
Stages 1–30 are free, with ads. One interstitial every three stages, and none at all for the first three.

One payment unlocks
· all 100 stages
· no ads, ever
· Still Waters — pick any sea you have already crossed and stay there, tossing rings with nothing counting the stages

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.6 — 2026-08-25

This update refines when ads arrive.

• No ad is fetched when you open the app — launching is lighter
• Ads are fetched once it's decided one is due — while you clear a stage and reach for the arrow
• If one isn't ready, that turn is quietly skipped — you're never left waiting

Pay once and ads disappear entirely. The game itself is unchanged.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-24

No release notes.
