Great series. Just writing this so i can get by the request to write a review and read it again. The app did have a few bugs and wasn’t formatted correctly on my iPhone 12 Pro. Despite having some trouble navigating to new pages, I overall really enjoyed the app and recommend it to anyone that’s a fan of the story. ### 4/5 — Timeless Treasure with a NEW TWIST! *2020-11-02, version 1.2.2* Indeed, the devil is in the details and details, there are many. I have read this book many times, but never was I so anxious to get to the next page. This book is loaded with fabulous graphics, while staying true to the story. I felt like I was right there. Pages with map and chalk would not turn. Had to exit out of app and go back in. The animators, designers and composers have done an excellent job. But this is a dull book. Sorry, I know it’s considered a classic but everything about the characters bore me. This app just about made it interesting enough to finish. Now, their Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft adaptations are seriously engrossing. How do both of these items translate to a relaxing reading experience? - The app tracks your location, which can be shut off by going into settings. Why does an app that solely involves an interactive book need my location data? Are they just curious where their users are located or are they selling it? I have three of their apps and only two are trying to track my location. Update quickly ### 1/5 — Suspicious *2020-01-12, version 1.2.1* These books are entertaining and well done, but unfortunately I have to give them a low rating due to the apps suspicious behavior. I have purchased all of the iclassics and found that they all immediately default to the 'on' position in cellular data and immediately use nearly a megabyte of data. Why a book would need to use any data at all is curious and that they use that much data is both odd and suspicious. I wrote to the company at the email posted on their website but received no response. I cannot recommend purchasing these books unless they stop this practice of sending whatever data they're gathering and using customers cellular data without permission. ### 1/5 — A once great app reduced to a money grab...sigh *2018-08-05, version 1.2.1* I really liked all of the apps from these guys. I work as an ESL teacher and used them for my students to get them excited and interested in what, normally, terrified them. My daughter also greatly enjoyed them. I saw their purchase as in investment of interest. Then came the mandatory updates and they added new content that was an in-app purchase but they LOCKED what I had already paid for before! Now one app and .99 cents would be one thing...but I had gotten so many of them! I didn’t fork out nearly $5 each just to be held up for more to buy back what I’d already had! I got in touch with t hem thinking this was an error and got a person who spoke very lovely and said oh, it’s just a mistake I’ll get you the codes. NEVER HAPPENED. and who’s to say if I gave in now that I wouldn’t have to purchase them all AGAIN at their next fund raising opportunity. Sorry. Fool me once shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me. I’ll stick with the old YouTube teacher cartoon standby and put my money into books that aren’t taken away and ransomed, thank you very much! I don’t know what’s going on w these review responses. I never got a response until today and it popped up in notifications just now... and yet it says the response here was from the day after.. in November.... it is now AUGUST... I did indeed correspond multiple times w someone there newly in charge of getting your apps out to teachers...after weeks of promises I got no more answers and changed my reviews to reflect my disappointment. I don’t mind update fees after a huge OS update... but not buying them again.
