I’ve been asked 1 question to every 30 minutes of drivel dialogue. I wanted to know what happened, but I like interactive novels. Honestly wasn’t even expecting a free game with voice acting when I was looking at mobile visual novels. Just NO THANKS. ### 4/5 — I love this game but *2021-03-17, version 2.3.3* Can you translate in Spain?? ### 5/5 — Love it *2021-03-13, version 2.3.3* This is one of the best visual novels I’ve ever played. ### 4/5 — A Story to Die For *2021-03-04, version 2.3.2* The characters each glitter in their own fabulous way, and of course, while I’m more than partial to the likes of Ashton, Isabella, and or Zach, I won’t hesitate to tell you that the story is worth getting invested in. Humanity shines through in each character through a multi-faceted window into storytelling, and it really lights up the “human” in the horror genera. Without spoiling too much, it’s a plot you’d never expect. Yes, the occasional cheap jump scares can be a bit predictable, but that only goes to show that the real star of the show- the true focus, if you will, is the characters behind the bigger picture. I’m obviously a writer myself, and I love games like this because exploring the human qualities of a character is what makes the horror aspect really so impactful in the first place. You care when a character dies, and yet are forced to push on and see your decisions through to the end so as to explore new endings. Regardless: “The Letter” has a great level of replay-ability, even if the dialogue does get a big boggy after the tenth play through. All you need is a few months and you can pick it up again like it’s nothing. It’s one of my favorite games, and I knew from the moment I picked it up that I was going to buy the rest of the chapters. I even spent my birthday money on it! You won’t regret it either way, and I know that 2-3 years after I first bought it, I don’t either. ### 4/5 — There’s a bug in the journal pages. Great game overall! *2021-01-23, version 2.0.1* Storylines kept my attention. Played it for hours straight just to get to the ending - couldn’t wait what would the outcomes be. Excited to continue to keep playing this game so I can discover other endings and storylines! There’s just a bug/issue though - I can’t turn the pages in the journal when I click next, it freezes the journal and I am only able to read the first page of the journal entry. I’m unable to view the rest of the journal which I was looking forward to. Even when restarting the app, it doesn’t really do anything. But overall - story, visuals, characters, diaolgue and voice acting are great, I can tell there has been a lot of effort and love put to make this game. Interesting how I’m not allowed to use the same racial slur that’s used in this ridiculous game, but Apple doesn’t have a problem with providing the developers a platform to use it. Not only is the use of the racial slur disgusting, but so is Zachary’s dialogue throughout. Not ALL black people speak with broken, or poor syntax. Just like not ALL white people speak perfect English. I guess you all have never been around any trailer parks, or Timbuktu. This game is full of foolish stereotypes. If you simply do a google search you will find other people who have attempted to call out this appalling language and are met with uncaring, defensive responses from the developer. “We gave people fair warning and you still chose to play our game and you got offended” is basically what they have said.
