## What is The?

The Line is a synchronous typed line between two people. Think of it as a phone call you type instead of speaking: when both of you are on the line, every keystroke appears on the other screen as it happens.

There is no send button, and no conversation history. Text fades about thirty seconds after it is typed, and nothing is kept as a transcript to scroll back through.

Start anonymously with a temporary handle, or verify a phone number to keep your handle and let people who already have your number find you.

- Live, keystroke-by-keystroke typing in both directions
- One line at a time, between two people
- Answer or decline an incoming line, including from the lock screen
- Silence incoming lines when you do not want to be reached
- Block anyone you do not want to hear from
- Delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app

Follow the line. Someone is waiting.
