## What is The Long Way?

The Long Way turns every walk, run, ride and drive into part of a map that grows with you — then helps you decide where to go next.

Generate a round route for the distance you want to travel, or build one yourself with a full route editor. Create, reshape, reverse, simplify and fine-tune routes until they go exactly where you want.

Recording can be started manually, or left in automatic mode so it begins when you start moving and continues in the background with your phone locked and in your pocket. Your history is not just a list of past trips. It becomes a map of everywhere you have been — and a starting point for where to go next.

WHAT IT DOES

• Colourised world map — each trip paints the roads you travelled, at world zoom or street level.
• Automatic recording — starts when you move, stops when you stop, runs in the background.
• Round routes in one click — pick a distance and get a loop that ends where it started, on foot, by bike, motorcycle or car. Ask again for a different loop the same length.
• Route creation and editing — draw point by point, or turn a recorded trip into a route and reshape it. Reverse it, cut a leg, pull a corner onto the road you would rather ride, or simplify thousands of points down to a few.
• Turn-by-turn navigation along any route you have planned or imported.
• Import and export — everything is plain GPX. Export one trip or your whole history in a single file; bring tracks in from a bike computer, another app, or a friend.
• Map customisation — restyle the basemap in the app, filter by activity, and read the stats for any trip.

PRIVACY

There is no account and no server behind the app. Your trips and routes are stored on the phone itself, and the only copies anywhere are the GPX files you choose to export. No analytics, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, and nothing shared with anyone.

The app downloads map tiles as you pan, and sends the waypoints of a route you ask it to plan to a routing service. Tips are handled by the App Store. Nothing else leaves the device, and the privacy policy names every service by name.

FREE

Our goal is simple: the whole app, every feature, available to everyone. There is no subscription, no trial that expires, and nothing behind a paywall. If you feel it is worth supporting, you are welcome to leave a tip — it unlocks nothing, because there is nothing left to unlock.
