### 4/5 — Great game

*2022-03-02, version 1.3*

Great game. I just wish I could have my own audio keep playing in the background when I open the app.

### 3/5 — Too sprawling to get a handle on

*2021-11-30, version 1.3*

I wound up playing this one at the same time I was working on the last chapter of Meridian 157. Such a contrast in design effectiveness.

"Lost Fountain" is one of those games that throws many obstacles at you at once as you traverse the various worlds and it takes too much time and effort going back and forth to solve puzzles and accumulate the necessary items to progress.

The outline of the story is somewhat vague and not all that compelling, although the ending has a neat twist but fails to make up for everything leading up to it.

I've found some of the other Media City games (Crimson Manor) to be more focused and rewarding to play than this one.

### 4/5 — Doc

*2020-11-16, version 1.2*

Stuck at the bamboo door. It wont open via the clue on the wall in B22. It seems others have the same problem. I dont like wasting money on buggy games.

### 4/5 — Good effort

*2020-04-21, version 1.1*

A decent game that takes a long time to finish, if you don’t use the in-built help facility.
Controls slightly clunky and not as polished as some of the ,ore expensive games, but no real complaints.
Certainly one of the better games i’ve played, without being mind-blowing.

### 3/5 — Beautiful theme

*2020-04-04, version 1.1*

I loved everything about this game, especially the many mini puzzles that were challenging yet doable. However, one feature made it more frustrating than fun....the number of scenes that look so similar and the lack of a useable map to click and relocate. It is a constant maze of going places to place, all of which look very similar and I spent more time trying to find what I knew was there than I did playing the games. There is a map, but you can’t click on it to get there. That would make it spectacular. Still I do recommend the game, and the price is well worth it!

### 4/5 — Good Game

*2019-11-17, version 1.1*

I really enjoyed this game. The puzzles were fun without being overly challenging. The hardest puzzle was the tile sliding puzzle, which you can thankfully skip. However I kept at it and eventually solved it. I was disappointed by the ending and the text gets in the way sometimes. Overall, I would recommend this game.

### 4/5 — It’s good

*2019-11-09, version 1.1*

It’s a really good game, it’s just the gameplay is so confusing and most of the clues just make no sense. I had to watch tutorials to get me through it.
But overall it’s good

### 4/5 — VERY Well Worth a Play!

*2019-10-30, version 1.1*

I’ve played all the Mediacity titles in this series, and this was by far the best. The world is sprawling, the puzzles intuitive (but not easy) and creative (but not far-fetched), and the solutions satisfying.

Buy the bundle of all four games and play them. You won’t be disappointed!

### 4/5 — Challenging but enjoyable...

*2019-07-05, version 1.1*

A nice long game with lots of places to explore and a good variety of puzzles. It was quite challenging and I needed to look at the help pages a few times, but it was good that help was available. An all round enjoyable game and I’d love more like this.

### 4/5 — What the heck is cooper

*2019-04-01, version 1.1*

I really thought "cooper" looked like a little dog figurine and smashing it with a sledgehammer is just plain mean! Dev should probably fix the spelling error...

### 5/5 — Great adventure game!

*2017-09-03, version 1.1*

I loved this game! Plenty of adventure and some puzzles along the way. Tough trying to figure out what to do next, but that's part of the fun. Good story with a great ending too.

### 5/5 — Genius loophole

*2017-09-03, version 1.1*

Very clever puzzles. Great story. Brilliant ending.

### 5/5 — Beautiful Naturally Relaxing Scenes

*2017-08-30, version 1.1*

Though quite similar in style to its predecessor Alice Trapped in Wonderland, for odd reasoning I seemed to have enjoyed The Lost Fountain a lot more. Both have subpar mapping and hint systems (hints are practically walkthroughs). But Lost Fountain has A LOT of beautiful natural scenes making it a relaxing experience. The puzzles/solutions were very intelligently spread out which helped lengthen the gaming experience. In other words, when approaching most puzzling situations, very rarely would I already have solvable clues or props; otherwise it likely would be too easy and short. So a perfect gameflow!

Despite my earlier described negatives, the goods far outweigh the bads. Five stars! Plus it ran very smoothly glitch-free for me (iPad Mini 4 / v10.3.3).

### 5/5 — AMAZING GAME PLEASE READ!

*2017-08-13, version 1.1*

I have played many of these point and click adventure games. This one is by far the best. Incredible story, great puzzles, and great ending! Worth Every Penny! My favorite game on the App Store.

### 5/5 — Perfect point and click game

*2017-07-04, version 1.1*

Just the right level of complexity and challenge to keep me engaged. Like that there are hints if needed, but doable without them. Well done.

### 5/5 — Fab!

*2017-06-28, version 1.1*

Frustrating (in a good way) and rewarding in equal measure.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Purchase only if you want no support

*2022-05-13, version 1.3*

It's beyond infuriating to play a complex game with no way out. Other platforms have a SKIP BUTTON, however, they must have thought that the people on ios were to smart to need one. Close your wallet. The frustration isn't worth this game. They've moved on to other puzzles. No support here. The underwater elephant puzzle was my nightmare & the end of my support for this developer.

### 1/5 — So confusing!

*2020-06-15, version 1.2*

I began this game thinking that it would be as entertaining as the Alice games, but it did not hold a candle to them. The graphics were beautiful, but the scenery in each area was so similar that I spent most of my time trying to figure out how to get where I needed to go. Very frustrating! The map was useless, as it did not indicate how to travel from one location to another, nor did it allow for clicking on an area to travel to it. That would have helped in the long run. If it had not been for the Appunwrapper site walkthrough I would have deleted this game after the first half-hour. I persisted because I felt there would be a worthwhile ending to the game. I am deleting it now and will not be replaying it.

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2020-01-23, version 1.1*

The problems may just be on iPhones but there are a load of bugs. The most annoying for me, is that I turn off the music and sound and every time it starts up again LOUD and takes several tries to shut off. Navigation is only slightly less clunky in this game but selecting or interacting with an item - at least on an iPhone - is problematic.

### 1/5 — Not working.

*2018-01-06, version 1.1*

This game is broken on 6S. The hint in screen B22 does not work for the bamboo door. Played it thru twice to verify. Don’t waste your time with this game.

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2017-04-02, version 1.0*

It won't let me get past the bamboo rod puzzle even though I know I have the correct pattern to solve it. The graphics are pretty old fashioned. It's time to delete it and say goodbye to my money.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2017-03-02, version 1.0*

Won't work on later versions of iOS. Won't let you use tools.

### 1/5 — No hints

*2016-08-31, version 1.0*

This would be great if it offered hints the same way other games from this company do. Having to read through the 'instructions', scrolling down every time you get stuck or don't know what to do next is painful. Would give 5 stars if an update was issued with a simpler hint system that doesn't require scrolling.

### 1/5 — Not for me

*2015-11-26, version 1.0*

Not a fan of the graphics/transition from one scene to another is too patchy and not smooth

### 1/5 — Great point and click adventure

*2015-05-30, version 1.0*

I've now played all 3 of their adventures. Theme wise, I preferred Alice in wonderland. However, puzzle and navigation wise, the lost fountain is easily the best.
Definitely worth buying. Graphics and puzzles are very good.

### 1/5 — Piece of crap

*2015-05-02, version 1.0*

I finished Fire Maple Games trio and wanted more of the same but this is a huge disappointment. Not intuitive at all you need to look at the clues to move forward. Right now it is frozen on me. Comp, tee disappointment. Don't waste your money.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great true adventure game

*2024-11-20, version 1.31*

I like these old style adventure games where you get to discover many scenes and travel back and forth to accomplish tasks. Part of the fun is remembering where something was. Much more challenging than simple linear puzzle games. This lasted a long time for me. I used the hints a few times. Graphics were beautiful and game play was smooth and responsive. I played this years ago and it’s just as enjoyable on my new iPad Pro.

### 5/5 — Beautiful game!

*2022-10-28, version 1.3*

I love all these games, but this one in particular. It has many, many beautiful screens, each of them with one, two, three hidden things to do… And a few of the screens are there just for the beauty of it. The green text describing interactive objects important to the story is also a nice clue. Tapping around is not punished, which is also nice.

And I must confess that I loved the ending, which does explain a lot of what is really happening.

I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who loves to search for clues while enjoying beautifully drawn (or rendered?) screens. I would like to send the developers my congratulations for creating this extraordinary game!!

### 5/5 — Best. Developer. Ever.

*2021-07-03, version 1.2*

I always love games from this developer. Engaging and addicting. Can’t wait for more

### 5/5 — Excellent time-waster

*2020-01-04, version 1.1*

Very enjoyable game with decent puzzles and a very good help resource if needed (it was). Lovely landscapes, architecture and scenery. Nice wee twist at the end! Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Fun!

*2019-12-31, version 1.1*

A vast and diverse map full of imaginative puzzles with intuitive solutions.

### 5/5 — Great Game

*2019-04-27, version 1.1*

This is a great game, although a bit long. Has a great storyline. Didn't like the ending much but still give it 5 stars.

### 5/5 — Real cool

*2018-12-23, version 1.1*

Really cool but can you add where you have to find your father!

### 5/5 — Great!

*2018-01-27, version 1.1*

I have yet to finish this game it still challenges me to this day, but people will love it and I certainly did. The graphics are outstanding and the game on the whole is sooo fun to play!
I would definitely recommend this to all of you 👍🏻

### 5/5 — Bravo !

*2018-01-16, version 1.1*

Le nombre d'énigme et de casse-tête, ainsi que la durée de vie du jeu vaut largement le prix d'achat.

J'ai adoré le plot-twist final !

### 5/5 — Lost Fountain is beautiful & complex.

*2017-09-15, version 1.1*

Great game to get lost in (literally & often).
