### 4/5 — Worse App for a newspaper period

*2026-06-24, version 28.10.2*

The WSJ online app is 1000% better!

### 4/5 — Great for most part

*2026-01-21, version 28.6.0*

I’ve been using the Lubbock A-J app for a number of years. Since I know longer live in the area where I grew up, I enjoy keeping up with local news, the obituaries, sports, and comics. Most of the time, the app works great. Occasionally, I have to reinstall it. Sometimes the Sunday Comics don’t appear. I especially enjoy the articles written by Don Williams and Nathan Giese along with the USA Today sports’ writers.

### 2/5 — Newspaper

*2025-04-04, version 28.1.0*

Skimpy

### 2/5 — Popup ads on a paid subscription

*2024-10-17, version 27.13.0*

It’s adequate except that, having a paid subscription doesn’t eliminate annoying pop up ads.

### 1/5 — App not working

*2023-12-05, version 27.5.1*

The app hasn’t worked correctly for a couple weeks. Need to get it fixed ASAP, I’m paying for subscription that I can’t access.

### 2/5 — Previous editions

*2023-11-16*

Cannot find yesterday’s edition which I didn’t get to read. Not a fan of ads.

### 1/5 — Zero stars

*2023-11-03, version 27.3.3*

I hate this new app

### 3/5 — Stalls

*2023-10-24, version 27.3.3*

I know used to enjoy the E newspaper more than I do now. Maybe I don’t know how to operate the revised version. I don’t know. I read my paper on my iPad every morning, and when I want to change to the next page, sometimes it just takes me back to the front and I have to hunt for the page and that’s not good. also sometimes it’ll freeze on the page for a long time and then it’ll start going and I have the fastest Suddenlink Internet. There is so I don’t know. I never had this problem before the revision. Nonetheless, I get the paper read every morning with struggles, but he gets done.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2023-08-07, version 27.1.2*

Awful

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2023-07-24, version 27.1.2*

### 4/5 — LUBBOCK A-J

*2023-07-09, version 27.1.2*

Not what it was, but then what is.
My life isn’t complete without a daily newspaper, and I’m grateful for one as good as the Lubbock Avalanche Jounal

### 1/5 — I am a subscriber but cannot activate my account

*2023-04-15, version 27.0.4*

### 1/5 — E edition

*2025-10-18, version 28.5.4*

FtWorth StarTelegram easier to navigate and read .

### 1/5 — Worse App for a newspaper period

The WSJ online app is 1000% better!

### 1/5 — Frankie

*2024-11-25, version 27.13.3*

This app doesn’t work anymore

### 1/5 — The Lubbock avalanche journal

*2024-04-18, version 27.8.0*

Awful! This app and my iPad do not get along! Am considering canceling my subscription. Please restore old print app for iPads. The current version has a severe aversion to the Safari browser!

### 1/5 — The Lubbock avalanche journal

*2024-04-14*

We like to work the puzzles in the AJ. However, in this new app it is almost impossible to print the puzzles in a reasonable size. It appears that they must first be converted to pdf format. Also, occasionally, I find a good comic and want to share the link with friends. I cannot find an easy way to do this any more.

Please restore the app with “print edition” across one corner.

Thanks

### 1/5 — Remove Captcha from Login

*2024-01-12, version 27.5.1*

Requiring captcha for login is not needed for this service. If you are going to have a captcha you should use invisible captcha which doesn’t require users to select boxes. This is especially important for older users as they often select incorrect captcha boxes.

### 1/5 — Newest app glitchy

*2024-01-10, version 27.5.1*

This newest app has issues. More trouble loading. Printing of puzzles is 50/50 if it will work. The full newspaper edition is harder to read compared to the older version. It honestly has me leaning toward canceling.

### 1/5 — E edition

*2023-12-11, version 27.5.1*

Hard to navigate , why not show in full page format ?
FtWorth StarTelegram easier to navigate and read .

### 1/5 — Why change

*2023-12-08, version 27.5.1*

The most led print edition app was good….now every time I read newspaper it comes with a cover page directing me to other app! Pathetic!
