Just two quibbles: The study notes are a bit glitchy, popping up & down & all around, lol! And, why do we need to save a highlighted verse - couldn’t the highlighting just automatically also save it? ### 4/5 — A powerful tool *2024-08-31, version 1.0.2* I’m already glad to use this app! I am excited by how easy it is to read notes, references, and then return to my place in a passage with a simple banner button. That last part is what makes this a great tool for someone diving deeper into scripture. Improvement: it would be nice to have the option to purchase the CHP apocrypha with study notes. ### 5/5 — God, the Word, and Love *2024-05-24, version 1.0.1* This app is God-tier. In fact, it is God Himself. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). This also means that this app is Love. “Anyone who does not love, does not know God, because God is Love” (1 John 4:8) If you don’t download this app, you are basically denying God. Ok, maybe that’s taking the joke too far, but download it anyway! ### 5/5 — What an accomplishment! *2024-05-24* The Lutheran Study Bible was already the best study Bible anyone could find. I can’t imagine the amount of work it took to get the TLSB into this app form, and my appreciation for that work can’t be stated enough. This is an absolute must have for anyone looking to unpack scripture, meticulously study The Word, and grow their faith. The price is a steal for such a valuable resource. A HUGE thanks to CPH, all the developers, and the project team that put this together for us. Thank you!! My iPhone just barely makes it. How about lowering the compatibility? MACOS Monterey iPadOS 16 I use my iPad for reading & studying because of my vision, sadly you’ve made it difficult. I wouldn’t be surprised if others are in the same boat, even pastors. Also not everyone can afford new technology that comes out. ### 1/5 — Subscription? *2024-05-31* I purchased my leather bound Lutheran study Bible one time for one price. I should be able to purchase the electronic version for one price, not a subscription. Are the guys at headquarters really going to be updating the contents on a 2000 year-old book? ### 2/5 — Too long to open *2025-12-15, version 1.1.5* The paid app regularly takes between 10-20 minutes to open. While I enjoy the footnotes and commentaries, I find myself oftentimes opening up another ESV Bible app for the sake of convenience. ### 2/5 — Great content, better UX than an ebook, but… *2024-06-20* The subscription is a deal breaker. It just feels wrong to have an ongoing subscription for a book. Give me a one and done option. I don’t need another subscription. I’ll stick to my ebook copies for now, until that changes. ### 3/5 — I Want to Like it … MORE *2026-07-31, version 1.1.5* I want to like this app more than I do. There are just some quirks I have been experience and some improvements I think need to be made. I find note taking to be the most challenging. If I highlight something I cannot take a note … it doesn’t give me that option. Clicking certain areas of scripture cause the app to close. I cannot highlight text with my mouse or touch pad … I have to double click a word and then use arrow keys to highlight. When I copy a paste I get that annoying church of text that tells the world this was copied from the Lutheran Study Bible, which I then have to delete. These things make using this app very inefficient. I am actually considering finding another app without a subscription … not sure if it’s worth it. ### 3/5 — Currently a 3 star with the potential to be so much more!!! *2025-09-18, version 1.1.4* Currently I’d give this app 3 stars, and for using it on my Mac 2. But this app has the potential to be a five star app. It is crazy the amount of potential this app has if they put a lot of work into it, it could affect the entire denomination. My niece was asking about Ps. 96:12 because I was wearing a t-shirt that displays just the verse number and she wanted to know what the verse said. When I pulled it up on my phone, with my old eyes, I missed the verse because the number was not where I expected it to be.
