## What is The Mandate?

You are the newly elected President of Valcera, a fragile republic balanced between five powerful factions, a restless public, and a world that is watching. The Mandate is a text driven political simulation about the weight of decisions, not the noise of politics.

Every session is a week in office. You read the morning brief, consult your advisors, and face a handful of dilemmas where every option has a cost. Raise taxes, crush a strike, negotiate a trade pact, veto a bill, respond to a foreign crisis. There is no correct answer, only the leader you choose to be.

FREE TO TRY, AND THE FREE PART IS A REAL GAME
The opening act of your term is free from start to finish. You take office, survive your first crisis, run a legislative docket, whip votes on the floor of the Assembly, hold a coalition together, and write a national budget across six ministries that you then have to take to a vote. It ends with an assessment of your first hundred days, and you decide from there whether to keep governing. No subscriptions. No ads. No energy timers.

FEATURES
Six stats that shape your presidency: Approval, Authority, Economy, Treasury, Stability, Legacy
Five factions with shifting loyalties, seat counts, and vote discipline
A legislative system with a whip room, amendments, concessions, and floor votes you can lose
An annual budget across security, health, education, infrastructure, welfare, and justice, funded by tax and borrowing you answer for
Consequence engine that remembers what you did weeks ago and brings it back when you least expect it
Branching narrative across an opening act and five chapters, with multiple endings
Weekly headlines that react to your choices
Advisor cabinet with distinct personalities and hidden agendas
Legacy scoring across six dimensions at the end of your term
Rich save system, pick up your presidency whenever you have five minutes

THE MANDATE IS FOR YOU IF
You love narrative strategy, branching stories, and moral dilemmas
You want a political game that respects your time and your intelligence
You enjoy games like Reigns, Suzerain, Crusader Kings, Democracy, or Papers Please

Unlock the rest of the term once to carry your presidency through the corruption scandal, the constitutional fight, the crisis years, and the ending you earn.

### 1/5 — To short+scam

*2026-08-01*

The trial is to short I’m not paying for a game idk anything about. Plus many people in the reviews are saying it’s a scam and have not received full version after purchase. The developers responses in the reviews are unprofessional and trashy.

**Developer response:** It is not a scam, it’s a free trial. I will work on making the trial longer. Thank you for the valuable feedback.

### 5/5 — Need more updates

*2026-07-19*

This game has a lot of potential to be a great political simulation game. It just need to add more realistic items like votes, budget allocation, cabinet selection, military affiliations. Overall I think Thai game will be great. Just let me know when the updates happen

**Developer response:** Game has been updated with your suggestions in v1.3.0! I appreciate the suggestions and the 5 stars! More content and features are planned as well.

### 2/5 — Full Game Purchase not working?

*2026-07-13*

I bought the full game for however much but it still doesn’t let me select or play anymore options that are given. Especially the “War Cabinet”.

**Developer response:** Hello Josh0116, thank you for your support! I'm sorry you had this issue in the past. Please update the game and try again as it has been fixed. Email me at support+themandate@indiecraft.net if it is still not working so I can personally help you out.

### 2/5 — I bought the full game...

*2026-06-04*

I paid, I pressed restore purchases. Nothing happened. I can't change the theme of the app to dark mode. I also don't have the Wartime DLC unlocked...even though I bought the full game. Buyer beware, potential quick exit scam disguised as what's supposed to be a simplistic political simulator mobile game.

You also can't read most of the choices in full because the choices are too long for the 3 boxes. You're just forced to suffer with drastic drops in a certain statistic in your presidency as a result.

Overall 2 stars as of right now, not changing my rating anytime soon unless things improve. I paid for the full game, got an unfinished and probably abandoned project.

**Developer response:** Thank you for supporting the game! This is not a scam!

Please reach out via email at support@indiecraft.net so I can personally assist you with these issues. Screenshots and device details will be very helpful in addressing the choices not being fully visible.

### 1/5 — 2 minutes, then pay wall.

*2026-05-19*

After the first 5 decisions, you have to pay to continue. 1 star.

**Developer response:** Thank you for trying my game!

Trial has been updated to be longer and to give you more of a taste of what the game is like.
I hope you give it another chance.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-08-24

This release reworks how approval behaves, opens up the final chapter, and fixes a long list of things besides. Nearly all of it came out of running thousands of simulated presidencies and finding the places where the game was quietly lying to you.

APPROVAL IS A RESOURCE, NOT A COUNTDOWN
Approval could only ever fall. Across a full term, no run ever finished above where it started, and most hit their peak in the first two weeks and drained from there. That made the most visible stat on your dashboard a timer rather than something you govern. Approval is now earnable: decisions the public likes actually pay, the price of the unpopular ones is charged honestly, and a presidency can end more popular than it began.

THE COUP ACTUALLY ARRIVES
The army walked you up four rungs of warnings, the brief told you units were moving without authorization, and then nothing ever happened. The attempt now books its own week and plays out in full, along with its resolutions, its aftermath, and the endings that require having been removed by force.

CHAPTER 5 HAS ROOM FOR WHAT IS WRITTEN IN IT
The final chapter holds twenty seven events, three multi part arcs and two bills, and it used to give you roughly three decisions before the game ended. It is now seven sessions instead of three, so the arcs you have been carrying since the middle of your term actually pay off.

ENDINGS THAT TELL THE TRUTH
Losing office no longer reads as a triumph. Impeachment, a no confidence vote, a coup or fiscal collapse now carry through to your overall rating and the historian's summary instead of only the political ending, and the end screen says plainly that the term was cut short. Governing under permanent martial law is no longer filed as Democratic Pragmatist.

FIXES
The Morning Brief and whip room headers stay pinned in place. Their controls no longer scroll off the top of the screen.
Finishing a presidency now closes the save, so the title screen stops offering Continue on a run you already ended.
When another bill owned the week your budget reached the floor, the vote could resolve on its own with no card and no trip to the whip room. Contested floor days now appear properly and can be whipped.
In the free opening act, your Appropriations Act now always reaches its floor vote before the trial ends.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-08-12

You told us the free trial was too short. You were right. This update makes it about three times longer and, more importantly, makes it the actual game.

A LONGER FREE TRIAL
The free portion used to be three weeks and three decisions. It is now the whole opening act, around ten weeks in office. Nothing was taken away from anyone: this is new free content.

AND A FREE TRIAL WITH SYSTEMS IN IT
Inside the free portion you now run a legislative docket, work the whip room, spend concessions on the Coalition Board, and write a full national budget across six ministries that goes to a floor vote you can lose. Your early decisions come back at you before the trial is over.

A CABINET
You now appoint ministers and they hold portfolios. They argue, they remember how you treated them, and they answer for what you decide.

THE ARMY
Command loyalty is tracked on its own, apart from public approval. Let it fall far enough and there is a path to a coup, with warnings before it.

THE FIRST HUNDRED DAYS
The free portion now ends on an assessment of your term so far rather than a wall: six dimension ratings, weeks governed, decisions taken, bills passed, where the chamber stands, and a historian's read on how it is going. You can share it.

SHARING FOR EVERYONE
The weekly front page card is no longer locked behind a purchase. Anyone can publish their headlines.

Also in this release: legislative votes and bill passage, the annual budget and fiscal cycle, a much wider spread of events across a playthrough, impeachment you can see coming, and fixes to the endings so every one of them is reachable.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-08

Two add ons go on sale for the first time in this version, and if you already own the full campaign, both are yours free.

THANK YOU FOR BUYING EARLY
Everyone who bought the full campaign before this update gets the Cabinet Pass and the Wartime Cabinet at no charge, permanently. There is nothing to redeem and nothing to tap. Open the game and they are already unlocked. Your purchase follows your Apple Account, so it survives reinstalling or moving to a new device.

CABINET PASS
Alternate portraits, the Cabinet Noir theme that now repaints every screen in the game, expanded advisor flavor lines, additional save slots, and the Supporter sigil. Cosmetic only.

WARTIME CABINET
Lead the country through an active war. An alternate opening, new advisors, new chain arcs, new endings, and a wartime balance overlay that tightens economic and approval pressure.

FREE TO TRY
The prologue is free to play from start to finish, and the game now says so at first launch, on the title screen, and at the end of a run.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-08-06

Fixed locked content that could not be purchased. The Cabinet Pass portraits, the Cabinet Noir theme, and the Wartime Cabinet story pack now stay hidden until they are actually available to buy.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-04-21

1.1.0 brings the Social Sharing System. From the Legacy screen, tap Publish your record to export your ending as a share-worthy image with a universal link back to the game. Choose Feed or Story format, and save it to Photos or send it anywhere. Share weekly headlines, pivotal decisions, and your coalition standing. Prologue runs produce a Classified variant that honors what you did while inviting friends to play the full term.

Also in this release:
- Fixed a rare crash saving share cards to Photos.
- Tuned typography so cards read cleanly on every feed.

Five factions. One chair. The record you leave behind.
