It is really sad to see an historic quality local paper devolve into wireline regurgitation. No attempt to ever provide a balanced perspective. Keep up the great work❣️ ### 2/5 — Improvements needed *2025-08-10, version 10.0.42* I enjoy reading the Morning Call and we have been subscribers for almost 3 decades, first the paper version and now the digital version. When you updated the digital app a few months ago you made it very hard and frustrating to read the newspaper. #1. Once you get through the first few pages it becomes very difficult to swipe to the next page. You have to swipe several times and it may work or you have to use 2 fingers to pull in on your current page and then try to swipe to the next page. #2. It is annoying that you can’t print or email a single article on the digital app. If you try to print you get the whole page and the print is so small you need the magnifying glass to read it. To print an article you have to use the website version of the digital newspaper. However the website version isn’t easy to read because you have the swiping to the next page issue and on my iPad I can get a full page view, however I used to be able to see a full page view. #3. I like to know what page of the newspaper I am reading. Before you upgraded you would have on the top of the paper page 1 of 26, 2 of 26, 3 of 26….and forward and backward arrows, now you don’t know where you are at in the newspaper and you can’t arrow forward or back, you have to swipe and that is not easy or a reliable function. I’m not sure why you updated and made it more difficult to read the newspaper, it wasn’t broken, no fix was needed. However, now it is broken and fixes are needed. I hope you read this and heed my comments, put the newspaper back the way it was , you didn’t improve anything. ### 2/5 — Tech Support Needs to be Improved *2025-03-19, version 10.0.34* I have subscribed to the Morning Call for five decades. I find the articles to be informative and balanced. The lifestyles features are interesting, and my husband loved the sports coverage. Since becoming a digital-only subscriber, I have experienced difficulty accessing my subscription. I called the customer service number and I was told twice a technical support person would get back to me. That was weeks ago and no one has contacted me. Since my ipad is attached to my bluetooth keyboard, turning the thing sideways for morning call is not a welcome thing. Except for scanning the Obits and “Peanuts” all of the other reporting can be found elsewhere. There is no genuine editorial content exploring local issues. The ads are pop ups, between every 2-3 lines, and stacked up at the top, bottom, and sides of the page. I’m all for making money but this seems like the ads are just thrown on the page and it make navigation very frustrating. ### 1/5 — Subscription failure. *2024-03-28, version 10.0.6* I pay a monthly subscription for the Morning Call, but yet when I go to their app and attempt to read the Morning Call, I am directed to a page that indicates that I am not a subscriber and directs me to another page to pay the subscription.Thus the one star. ### 1/5 — Why remove landscape mode? *2024-03-09, version 10.0.4* My older mom has gotten the morning call for decades. I was able to get her to learn the iPad and switch from a physical paper to a digital version. All of the apps on the iPad use a landscape view which makes everything easier. The latest update removed this for some reason that makes it much harder for my mom to use. There is no option to switch between both views. Please bring back that landscape view that all tablet apps use. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — New premium subscriber *2026-07-30, version 10.0.59* As a new premium digital subscriber, I have been very happy overall with all the features afforded to me. These features include a very nice, clean layout of the news in The Morning Call app, without ads. I also get the electronic version of the actual paper edition. The one big feature that I don’t think people realize this subscription gets them, is that it includes a whole bunch of newspapers nationwide with the same features as The Morning Call premium digital subscription. You use the same login information with the other newspapers that are included. With all this in mind, it really does provide value for the money spent.
