First and foremost the app drains the phone’s battery at an alarming rate. I lose 7 to 10 percentage points just by reading a single article on the app. Absolutely ridiculous! Secondly, no iPad version of the app. It is a Rs 3000+ subscription service. It is plenty likely they would own an iPad and would prefer to read your excellent articles on a large display. Why is there not an iPad app? You are not Instagram. Thirdly, the app itself looks barebones and devoid of any productivity features. Searching is cumbersome. Offline reading is missing. All these are very basic stuff for reading now, just a good journalism is not going to cut it. This app gives you good quality content. However, the lack of a night mode (in 2024!), no podcast support, a jarring in-app payment and signing in experience and a lack of support for iPad is disappointing. For example, in an article, when you link some text to another piece, clicking it starts a fresh web page where I have to log in again. Why can’t it open the piece from within the app itself when I click on the link? Also, you should have search functionality within the homepage itself. I use my ipad to read, and boy this is a pain. Sometimes the image would open and then there is no way to close it, sometimes the app won’t load, it keeps showing read stories over and over.
