It is really not. It’s just a tarted up version of the website, however when clicking any links it takes you to the website and says sign in to subscribe. Rather than all the faff just use the browser. Waste of time **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you've not enjoyed the new app experience. We've worked hard to make the article reading experience more engaging within the app and have added a number of new features as well as completely redesigning the navigation and article templates. However, we're constantly working on improving and have many more improvements planned for this year, including reworking the in-article link experience you mention to make this more user friendly. ### 2/5 — Too reactive. *2025-04-09* Downloaded the update and wish I hadn’t. A slight touch of the page and it zooms right in. Constantly having to zoom back out. Driving me mad! **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback - If you haven't already, may we suggest trying reading in Landscape orientation, as that provides a pre-zoomed in view, especially if reading on tablet in single page mode. This allows you to read pages within the editions without needing to zoom in and out. We will also discuss your feedback with the development team and test on a range of devices as we haven't experienced this here in testing before, so it may be that we need to maker a change for certain device types. ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2022-05-10, version 2.5.0* I subscribe to the National and pay £6.99 a month yet apparently I’m not eligible to use this app - you need to be a Premium Plus subscriber. You wouldn’t get away with this in an independent Scotland! ### 1/5 — Shambles *2022-05-05* Do not pay for a subscription to this app. Since I downloaded it 4 days ago , I have had to change password every time to access it. I e mailed them to cancel, filled in the online contact form numerous times, still no reply after 4 days. ### 4/5 — OK and easy to use. *2022-04-29* This is a new app so will I am sure improve with time. Covers topics well in addition to customer letters etc. Good. ### 3/5 — Glitches *2022-03-20* When working it is a super easy app. But over the past week I have been unable to get past the picture of a pro independence gathering. I have phoned the help desk; Temporarily restored for 1 day. I am now reduced to deleting and reinstalling app every morning before it can be used. Click on the one you want to see. ### 1/5 — Absence of the Seven Days Sunday supplement *2022-02-01* I can access the paper and not the digital version nor does the the Seven Days supplement appear. This supplement is the most important part of the Sunday edition of the National with it’s in-depth articles, reviews and comments. What has gone wrong? ### 1/5 — Supplements in the new app *2022-01-31, version 2.3.0* New app is different, maybe not much better in terms of functionality but lack of access to new and saved supplements, including ‘Seven Days’ is unacceptable.
